2-Best moment of the year?

I really, really have a hard time with this one. This year has been easily the best in my entire life-something that really sticks out about the beginning of the year is joining Pukichat, a discord full of new and incredible friends, a place that I can always go for comfort and love. I also went to the folk school, beginning my blacksmithing career and meeting some more incredible friends, and entering into the world of folk dance, one of my new favorite past times. Best moment has to go to movie night with pukichat, staying up unholy hours to watch the worst films of my life and to witness rabb.it, haunted with the spirit of Rabbit, holding onto our whiteout browser and forcing us to listen to sonic says on repeat for 30 minutes. 

4-What was the biggest change you experienced this year?

I think I became a lot more comfortable establishing who I am to strangers. I care a lot about what other people think of me--perhaps too much--and would often spend the introductory period in any relationship gauging how to act around that specific person/group. I’ve grown better at being myself around strangers, and caring about who I was rather than who I was projecting. oh, also I became a blacksmith.

23- one of the best meals you had this year?

This one’s easy. I had a Rock in Role Sushi role as a celebratory goodbye meal with some of my best friends at the Folk school. It was truly the best sushi I’ve ever had. Divine.

top 5 happiest moments of your life

What a lovely ask! Thank you very much. sorry for taking a bit, I was saving this for works so I had a while to do it.

5. This ones a bit less specific. Every year throughout my childhood, in the fall, my family would go on hikes in the nearby mountains. Fresh, damp fall air; Hot cider and pumpkin pie; the beauty of nature; and to top it all off, my siblings and I running around in the leaves as my parents prepared our picnic. This happened a few times, and so collectively is number 5.

4. joining @pukicho‘s discord server. this is pretty recent. some months ago, I had lost who I considered to be 2 very close friends. At the same time, Pukicho had sent around another invite to the server, and I joined. The community I found there was incredible. I won’t go into everything we did, but I was there just about every night for a while, and it was always worth it. (Special thanks to: @tattoosfade @lolt64 @thebestpartofwakingup @kokoriza @nyarut0 @astromanci @lloon-a and anyone I might have missed from pukichat. I met some wonderful people there)

3. John C Campbell. This one would honestly be at the top of the list, but it’s too recent, I don’t know what it has led to yet. But at the folk school, I felt belonging. In the people I met, comfort. I’m going back, and I think I’ve found my calling and a home.

2. My brother’s wedding, and my sister’s wedding. These two events were so charged with happiness, so full of celebration. Each one a monument to love and joy. I don’t think I’ll ever recover from how happy they made me, the multitude of feelings at each was astounding.

1. Colorguard. More specifically, the 2016 parade of champions. 2016 was a bad time for the world. And that year and the next would be the worst in my life. But colorguard was incredible. Life-changing and stable. There I found new friendship, camaraderie, competition, and skill. I adore dance, and I found an outlet in colorguard. It also helped me discover who I was, and who I wanted to be. The Parade of Champions was an all day and night gathering of every high school marching band in the State, and I attended all of it. Got there early in the morning, practiced with numb hands in the brisk cold, performed to the largest crowd I had seen, and then watched. For more than 12 hours I watched bands perform excellence, side-by-side one of my best friends and with our instructors in front of us. (also, while there, had a fun adventure leaving my jacket in a place I Should Not Have during the awards ceremony, and our drumline captain sprinting to get it in my indecisiveness, that guy).
