Website Creation

Now that we are in the full swing of things with a new direction and a fresh look on the project as a whole, it finally came time to set up the website! We decided to go with Wix as the platform for our website, as we evaluated Squarespace and Webflow, but found Wix to provide the most options for what we need. We also finally decided on a name! After flipping between QeyPad and QeyBoard, we decided to go with QeyBoard.

Ravenne created a Wix account that we can all log into. This will make it easy for the whole group to work on the website and take turns at doing our individual bit. I am looking forward to developing this website and finally see our project come together.

I have been working on Wix for the past week or two in order to gain knowledge of how it all works and what will need to be done when it is time to create the final website. These skills will now come in handy as we start building the website and bringing it to a desired level of completeness.

Next up will be creating content to go on the website this will include:

-          Written content (i.e. who, what, where, why and how?)

-          Infographics to display our research and data

-          Photographs depicting a peer-to-peer laptop lending service

To start with, I am going to draft out what some of the written content may be. This is now possible because we have something to base how much needs to be said, given that the website is now up. In the future, we will create a custom URL to add that extra level of professionalism. I am thinking qeyboard.net, as it has a nice ring to it. Qeyboard.co.nz would have been nice, but unfortunately, Wix doesn’t offer .co.nz.
