Monteroble Tour - Last Day

1923. On the last day of their Monteroble tour, the Earl and the Countess of Lucrète honoured Their Majesties with a ball at Vassyl House.

HM The Queen opened the ball with the host, while HM King Joseph did the same with his wife. Monteroble’s most remarkable upper-class and aristocracy personalities attended the event to commemorate TM’ visit, which has finally come to an end after four days. They are expected back in the capital this week.

HM Queen Edith II is presiding at the opening of the new railway works next month, a huge progress in Brosnia’s communication net that will presumably have a great impact on the economy.

House of Cleavreau - Family Tree

This is the House of Cleavreau family tree, starting with the first monarch of the free Brosnia, His Majesty King Edward I. Only the monarchs that followed him and their children are represented. Other descendants, second degree or more, with the exception of the heirs to the crown, are omitted. 

The Kingdom of Brosnia’s monarchy follows an absolute primogeniture line of succession; this means the firstborns, regardless of their sex, always have preference.

Her Majesty Queen Edith II is the current monarch and Head of State since she ascended the throne in 1886. Her firstborn, HRH Prince George, is the heir apparent, followed in line by his daughter, HRH Princess Clarisse and her younger brothers, HRH Prince Nathaniel and HRH Prince Joseph.

Long may she reign.

Their Majesties travel to Monteroble for a four-day tour

1923. Their Majesties Queen Edith II and King Joseph arrived this morning at Vassyl House where they will stay during the four-day tour that is planned through the region of Mont-Baix an its capital, Monteroble. The arrangements for this trip include a military parade, a royal ball, a visit to the recently restored National Library of Monteroble and a tour through the country’s largest clementine plantation.

They were received by TRH the Earl and Countess of Lucrète; their eldest son and Their Majesties son-in-law, TRH the Viscount of Monteroble; his wife and Their Majesties daughter, HRH Princess Edith, the Viscountess of Monteroble; and the earl’s youngest daughter, Lady Josephine Northup.

Monteroble celebrates Their Majesties’ visit with a parade

1923. On the third day of their Mont-Baix tour, the visit of Their Majesties Queen Edith II and King Joseph was celebrated with a military parade through Monteroble, the capital.

The event attracted large crowds that gathered at the city’s main streets and avenues, hoping to see Their Majesties. This is the first time the Queen has been to the Mont-Baix capital for an official visit since the war ended five years ago.

The Viscount and Viscountess of Monteroble, Their Majesties’ son-in-law and daughter, followed the monarchs’ carriage in the procession. It has been implied that their presence is part of the plan to improve their reputation and popularity, after the great damage Princess Edith’ image suffered before her wedding.

Their Majesties visit Brosnia’s largest plantation

1923. On the second day of their Mont-Baix tour, Their Majesties Queen Edith II and King Joseph visited the largest (2.500 ac.) and most productive brosnian plantation located 50 miles north of Monteroble, near Troyans.

They were offered a tour by the land’s owner and Their Majesties’ host during this trip, TRH the Earl of Lucrète, in which they learned about the new methods in agriculture that have been implemented there, based on the use of new and more modern machinery and the improvement of crops. This allowed last year to be the most productive one since the war.

Their Majesties were also greeted by some of the estate’s agricultural workers, as a representation of the nearly 400 men who are employed there.

Prince Joseph’s Christening: a Joyful Royal Occasion

1923. Yesterday, the royal family celebrated the christening of its newest member, TT. RR. HH. the Duke and Duchess of Deveraux’s third child. He was christened HRH Prince Joseph Reuben Arthur of Cleavreau and Brosnia, after the first names of his two grandfathers.

The archbishop of Baryón officiated the ceremony that was held at St. Catherine’s Church, near Deveraux. The godparents were the Duke’s sister, HRH Princess Edith and the Duchess’ brother, Mr. Thomas Hughes. 

All royal family members attended the happy event and were joined by most of the upper class and nobility members that reside around Deveraux, along with some close family friends and other relatives.

PRINCE GEORGE UNVEILS DEVERAUX’ WAR MEMORIAL

1923. The city of Deveraux celebrated this morning the unveiling of a new war memorial dedicated to the local victims. HRH Prince George conducted the ceremony and pronounced a speech in which he praised the sacrifices that were made for the cause.

(...) It is my duty and my honor to dedicate this memorial to those who fell fighting for their Queen and country. To them we owe a debt that can never be repaid. Let this be a symbol of their sacrifice, and become a place to cherish their memory (...).

The region of Deveraux lost almost 2000 men during the war, and a considerable percentage of those who returned alive were harshly wounded. It was the second most affected region in terms of war casualties right after the capital, Bayrón, that lost almost 4000 men. 

The celebration gathered hundreds of people from different classes at the city’s main square, that has been renamed the “Remembrance Square”. Among the most remarkable attendees were the Duchess of Deveraux, the Count and Viscountess of Lagrèyere and the city’s mayor, Mr. Ferdinand Newby.

Prince Joseph’s christening - Official portraits released

1923. Deveraux Castle released the official portrait of the royal family on HRH Prince Joseph’s christening day.

In the first picture, we can see the newborn with his parents, the Duke and the Duchess of Deveraux, surrounded by TT. MM. Queen Edith II and King Joseph and the little prince’s godparents, HRH Princess Edith and Mr. Thomas Hughes.

In the second picture we have the Deveraux family; the Duke and the Duchess with their three children, HRH Princess Clarisse, HRH Prince Nathaniel and the new arrival HRH Prince Joseph.

The last picture is a beautiful portrait of the two proud parents with their newborn in his christening gown, the same that his two older siblings wore on their christening day.

Brosnia ends its best financial season since the war

1922. The Kingdom of Brosnia has increased its foreign exports and has put an end to its best financial season since the war. The selling of autochthonous products has always been the main economical activity in the country, but it had been considerably damaged. In these past few years, Brosnia has struggled with the subsistence economy due to the crisis that the conflict drowned the country in. Many families who had been in husbandry for centuries struggled with the loss of man force to carry out the work.

However, President Shaw implemented this year a series of aids and resources to help those in need with their harvest and farm work. The surplus was way higher than expected, and this allowed the export market to recover and enjoy its best season since the Great War ended almost five years ago.

Today, on the last day of the year, the President remarked in his speech at the Parliament that the Government is fully committed with the stabilization of the economy, and will base its policies on Brosnia’s most ancient and true values: work and effort. 

We have managed this year to prove that our nation is strong enough to overcome a war and a pandemic and arise more powerful and greater than ever. (...) You will never find weakness in a brosnian citizen. Happy New Year, and may God bless the Kingdom of Brosnia.

The leader of the opposition, Mr. Reginald Derry, accused the President of populism, stating that “(...) what our country needs now is to focus on the restructuring of the values that drove us into a war in the first place (...) We will never fully recover if we are governed by a party that prefers to advertise only what is going well and tries to hide reality from the people (...)”. The tensions between the two parties have not changed this year; they are still as high as they were a year ago, when the Populars won the elections. 

Let’s hope this new year brings us as many happy moments as 1922 has brought us, and that our nation continues to grow and evolve.

State Visit day IV: Cleavreau Palace holds a State Banquet

1922. HIM Emperor Felix IV of the United Realm of the Federated States and his wife, HIM Empress Victoria, (@sims4monarchist) were honoured with a State Banquet at the palace on the last night of their visit.

The banquet was celebrated at Cleavreau Palace, hosted by HM Queen Edith II. Most members of the brosnian aristocracy and upper-class personalities attended the remarkable event.

On her speech, the Queen accentuated the gratefulness of the Kingdom of Brosnia to the United Realm of the Federated States for the help aided during the war, and expressed her wishes for future commercial and political agreements between the two nations. 

Later in the evening, the two monarchs and their consorts posed together for an official portrait of the visit.

The Duke and Duchess of Deveraux announce the birth of their third child

1922. Great news came from Deveraux Castle this morning: the Duchess gave birth last night to a baby boy. Both the Duchess and the newborn prince are well and in a healthy condition. The baby’s name has not been officially revealed yet. This is the thcouple’s third child since they got married in 1913. 

This new addition to the brosnian royal family is HM Queen Edith II sixth grandchild and is a Prince of Brosnia and fourth in line for the throne (after his older brother HRH Prince Nathaniel) by birth right.

There is no information yet about when the christening will take place, but it will most likely happen after the Christmas holidays.

Princess Mary is one of my favourite characters in this story, playing with her some time ago and writing her story was so enjoyable. I hope you like her story as well.

HRH Princes Clarisse’s birthday

1922. HRH Princess Clarisse, second in line for the throne, celebrated her 7th birthday recently. The young princess lives with her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Deveraux, and her younger brother HRH Prince Nathaniel at Deveraux Castle.

As a future monarch, the princess is expected to receive a proper education. She is being tutored at her home by her father’s governess, Miss Claire Watergrove. She has also private tutors that teach her French, German and Constitucional History.

There is not much information about the princess’ character or personality, since she seldom attends official events and her mother has always wished to protect her privacy until she comes of age. Some sources say, though, that Princess Clarisse is a very polite young girl with a high responsability and morality sensei

Let’s wish HRH Princess Clarisse a very happy birthday!
