रिलायंस AGM : जियो-गूगल ने मिलाया हाथ, बनाएंगे सस्ते एंड्रॉयड स्मार्टफोन, हुए ये बड़े ऐलान

चैतन्य भारत न्यूज रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज लिमिटेड (Reliance Industries Ltd, RIL) की 43वीं एनुअल मीटिंग में कंपनी के प्रमुख मुकेश अंबानी ने कई प्रमुख ऐलान किए हैं। इस दौरान उन्होंने बताया कि, अगले साल तक 5जी तकनीक लॉन्च की जा सकती है। साथ ही उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि, 'गूगल और जिओ साथ मिलकर एक ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम बनाएंगे, जो एंट्री लेवल के 4G/5G स्मार्टफोन के लिए होगा। जियो और गूगल मिलकर भारत को 2G-मुक्त बनाएंगे। मुकेश अंबानी ने यह भी बताया कि, 'सर्च इंजन कंपनी गूगल ने जियो के प्लेटफॉर्म में 33,737 करोड़ रुपए का निवेश किया है। इस निवेश के जरिए जियो में गूगल की 7.7 फीसदी हिस्सेदारी होगी। यही नहीं, गूगल के साथ स्ट्रेटजिक पार्टनरशिप की घोषणा भी की गई।' मुकेश अंबानी ने बताया कि, हम स्वदेशी स्तर पर विकसित 5जी सॉल्युशन ट्रायल के लिए तैयार हैं। यह प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के आत्मनिर्भर भारत अभियान को समर्पित होगा। रिलायंस का नया इनोवेशन जियो ग्लास है। इसे किसी फोन से जोड़कर इंटरनेट चलाया जा सकता है। यह एक चश्मा है। इस ग्लास का वजन सिर्फ 75 ग्राम है। यह एक केबल से जुड़ा होगा। इसमें ऑडियो यानी गीत संगीत भी चलेगा और 25 ऐप्लीकेशन चलेगा। इसमें 2डी और 3डी वीडियो चैटिंग होगी। रिलायंस ने यह भी दावा किया है कि जियो मीट भारत का सबसे सुरक्षित वर्चुअल मीटिंग ऐप है। वहीं, जियो मार्ट जल्द ही किराना डिलाइट शुरू करेगा। इस प्लेटफॉर्म से किराना दुकानदारों को जोड़ा जाएगा। इसके जरिए कस्टमर्स आपका सपोर्ट हमारा थीम पर काम होगा। रिलायंस जियो एंट्री लेवल 5जी स्मार्टफोन लेकर आएगी। इसके अलावा गूगल के साथ मिलकर रिलायंस एक एंड्रॉयड बेस्ट ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम तैयार करेगी। इसका मकसद हर भारतीय के हाथ में सस्ता स्मार्टफोन देना है। इस दौरान मुकेश अंबानी ने कहा कि कोरोना संकट आधुनिक इतिहास का सबसे बड़ा संकट है। लेकिन भारत और दुनिया आगे इसके बाद तेज बढ़त हासिल करेगी, यह मुझे विश्वास है। कोई भी संकट एक नया अवसर भी पैदा करता है। मुकेश अंबानी ने कहा कि हम भारत के सबसे बड़े निर्यातक और निजी क्षेत्र के सबसे बड़े टैक्सपेयर्स हैं। जीएसटी और वैट और निजी क्षेत्र में इनकम टैक्स के भी हम सबसे बड़े योगदान करने वाले हैं। मुकेश अंबानी ने कहा कि हम इस बार वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग और अन्य ऑडियो—विजुअल माध्यमों से यह एजीएम कर रहे हैं जो कॉरपोरेट मामलों के मंत्रालय के सर्कुलर के मुताबिक है। Read the full article

RIL's JioFiber home broadband services to hurt cable and DTH operators

Companies News The much-awaited JioFiber home broadband services will roll out in September with a starting price of Rs 700 a month. The fiber-to-home (FTH) offering comes with a lot of bundled services.

Analysts feel this could lead to consolidation in the television distributor market, just as the telecom market was after the launch of Jio three years back. Speaking at the annual general meeting of Reliance Industries (RIL), Chairman Mukesh Ambani said the investment cycle for Jio is now complete.

“Unlike other industry players, your company had the foresight to pre-invest in the network assets,” he said. He added that because of early adoption of the ongoing enhancements to LTE technology, its wireless network was already ‘4G plus’ and it could be upgraded to 5G at minimum incremental cost.

Reliance announces Jio 5G and an upcoming affordable phone with Google

At the 43rd Reliance Annual General Meeting, Mukesh Ambani announced Jio 5G. This will be India’s indigenous 5G solution, made entirely from the ground up. The company will kick-off trials as early as 5G spectrum is out and initial deployments are likely to begin in 2021.

This will open up new paradigms of use cases in a future of bleeding-edge technologies like Cloud computing, Devices, OS, Big Data, AI, AR/VR, Blockchain, Natural Language Understanding, and Computer Vision. The company is partnering with over 20 start-ups in this broad scheme.

The scope will not be limited to Indian society, but the world in general. Reliance envisions creating original intellectual property that’ll set an example of its technological might in the global landscape. As such, the Jio 5G service is intended to be exported to the rest of the world as well, post the country-wide diffusion.

Mr. Ambani also buttressed the need to accelerate the migration of 350 million Indians from a 2G feature phone to an affordable smartphone. So, it is inking a deal with Google to cook a low-powered and value-friendly 4G/5G Android phone. Speaking of Google, the silicon valley giant will invest ₹33,737 cr for a 7.7% stake in Jio services.

Speaking at the AGM, Mr. Ambani said, “Google has empowered millions of Indians to access helpful information and, like Jio, is a force for change and innovation. We welcome Google onboard and are excited about our partnership for what it can deliver to Indians, from universalizing Internet usage to deepening the new digital economy and providing a prime mover to India’s economic growth. Together, we hope to play a strong facilitative role in the transformative journey of building a new, Digital India.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet said, “Reliance Industries, and Jio Platforms, in particular, deserve a good deal of credit for India’s digital transformation. The pace and scale of digital transformation in India is hugely inspiring for us and reinforces our view that building products for India first helps us build better products for users everywhere. Google is proud to invest Rs 33,737 crore into Jio. I am excited that our joint collaboration will focus on increasing access for hundreds of millions of Indians who don’t currently own a smartphone while improving the mobile experience for all.”

Lately, a deluge of foreign brands is investing in Reliance Jio. The recent one is Qualcomm, which has struck a deal to acquire a 0.15% equity stake in Jio for $97 million. With this new infusion, Reliance has raised around $15.7 billion (₹1.17 lakh crores) against a 25.2% stake sale in Jio Platforms.

Amongst other things, Reliance also revealed details on JioMart, Jio Glass, JioTV Plus, JioMeet, and JioMart.

Reliance New Commerce initiative to digitally connect kirana stores

Companies News Reliance Industries (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Monday said the company's retail arm will soon unveil Reliance New Commerce, an initiative to digitally connect kirana stores across the country.

Speaking to shareholders at RIL's 42nd Annual General Meeting, Ambani said that the trials of Reliance Retail's digital commerce venture have delivered positive results. "This user-friendly digital platform is designed for inventory management, customer relationship management, financial services and other services," he added.

According to the RIL Chairman, the initiative is aimed at digitally empowering kirana stores, including those in smaller towns. "Reliance Retail has brought a retail revolution in India," he said, adding that 'new commerce' is meant to revolutionise India's three crore kirana stores.
