sometimes i think about the fact that in 2021 i read some of ben’s creative writing and one of the stories was:

- about androgynous superhuman beings cased in metal

- designed by a guy named francois

- they needed organic brain power which. unsurprisingly they took from not necessarily willing humans

- beung used for the project absolutely knackered the body. so it died in 4 weeks.

- people weren’t happy about this, so they made literally the acheron lol

- several hundred thousand minds that were gestalt and worked as one IN A HARD DISK

- THESE MINDS THEN ENDED UP OVERLOADING THE DISK. AND TOOK CONTROL

- AND MADE THE SUPERHUMAN ANDROGYNOUS METAL DUDES KILL EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING AND WAIT FOR ASCENSION…

all of this to say this was published in 2012. truly bizarre prescience. also released before even ulysses dies at dawn!!!!

Pharmakos | 24Hermione

The first of my binds for this year's Fandom Trumps Hate event is Pharmakos by 24Hermione (@phoenixphire24)! I had a great time collaborating with Phoenix on this bind and working with yet another RQG fic. The fic has heavy ocean/nautical themes, so we went with an ocean-inspired bind. The graphics/cover details are all take from public domain artwork, and the endpapers were printed onto cardstock (my first time printing my own endpaper design! I was super happy with the quality of them).

I recently got a black and white laser printer in addition to the inket I own, and I love the crispness of the text I was able to achieve with it! I feel like there's so much less bleed through the paper (something that constantly vexed me with the inkjet), and it printed in probably a quarter of the time it would have taken my inkjet to do it. And I can still do color typesets--I just printed the black text using the laser printer, then printed the color accents separately using the inkjet! Excited to experiment with toner-reactive foil as well once I have the money to get a laminator.

Overall, I'm pleased with how this bind turned out--I really like the old classic book feel to this one, and the silver foil on the cover really shines in person!

Listening to the post campaign q&a and i have opinions about the wilde-in-the-root-universe question.

HE WOULD BE A PIGEON!! A FANCY PEDIGREE PIGEON!!!! because its just the right mix of pretentious, smart and really pretty! pigeons are a lot smarter than youd think, and historically have done work in government intelligence and sending messages - to the point that some have military awards - but also are bred like dogs for certain traits and some pedigree pigeons are beautiful. :DDDD

10th of June 2015, Rusty Quill Gaming released its first ever episode, and ten years on, we still love it.

another rqg ootd. in the year since the last one i’ve got weirder and cooler and now i’m subjecting these beloved characters to my barefoot shoes agenda. also i made those pink trousers they are my pride and joy! i am now itching to do a deep dive of my wardrobe and what pieces i have as a direct result of rqg agh…

also hamid is wearing a travis skyjacks bandana and grizzop’s cap says ‘gayness is good for you’ (from small queer biz called in rainbows) (highly recommend)

The problem with early rqg, I’m coming to conclude, is that Bertie is absolutely awful but James Ross is one of the funniest people alive and it is deeply unfair that we don’t get to see him playing a likeable character.

this one took longer to figure out than i expected, but even though i considered going with my man hamid for the letter h, this was pretty fresh in my mind from a millionth relisten, and... i can't resist the prague party.
