yup, so it wasn't so much a controversy of the women's team being treated differently than the men's, so much as a controversy about rfef being a terribly run organisation, period.

i spoke about it and shared a clip of mariona talking about it in this post.

so unlike other cup titles and championships, the rfef protocol for the copa del rey and copa de la reina is for the cup to be handed to the captain by the monarch (like queen letizia did with alexia), but the individual medals are given out later to the club's staff to be distributed, and the queen nor league president or whatever executive they can find to show up does not individually congratulate each player.

the players didn't realise the situation about the medals and since they had been treated poorly during the supercopa 2023 in collecting the medals off a table, i'm sure many were thinking this was the same situation happening all over again, until staff corrected them and told them that rfef equally screws over everyone.

so yeah, it's not a controversy about barça being treated differently but just another criticism of rfef in having terrible protocols.

now some people did notice that the stage to celebrate the copa de la reina trophy was apparently last year for atletico madrid vs. real madrid (and an example of pro madrid/center bias by rfef and the monarchy). but i'll let you all judge.

Exactly, he talks big game about “expanding the North American market,” but realistically speaking how well will that work? Like you said, I’m sure the turn out for games for clubs like Barça, Atletico, and Madrid will be great, but how successful will expansion into America be for clubs like Getafe, Cadiz, Almeria, or Las Palmas? I can’t help but feel bad for smaller clubs because how many Americans are actually going to have interest in going to watch a game like Celta Vigo vs. Mallorca? Not to mention it’s not feasible for some fans to be traveling from Spain to America to watch their team play one single league match. And that’s even disregarding the negative impact traveling between two different countries on a consistent basis could do to players’ health.

I will be honest, I have zero interest in the USA, let alone their "soccer" league, so I don't know how many people usually attend the games, but I don't see matches like Celta Vigo vs Mallorca being really popular there... people may go because they like football, not because they're actual fan of the clubs.

And it's a pity, because even smaller clubs have such great and loyal fanbases that follows them around Spain all the time and make the atmosphere at the stadium incredible. Football is not just about 22 men running with a ball, at the end of the day. Also why should real fans in Europe have to stay up late or, even worse, wake up in the middle of the night to see a match just because the President wanted to earn billions (which will never be invested in the league itself)?

- psg vs barcelona ( barca have wowed me the laat match, so I predict a surprise win from barca [ that is if mbappe doesn't activate his ninja powers ] )

Inazuma Eleven Champions League

For those who don't have/don't use Xitter much, there is quite a promiment modding community in regards to Inazuma, with the Great Road mod being the most well known (And with a reason, since they've managed to combine GO + AreOri + extras in the IE3 ROM). As a way to promote itself, the main account has been hosting a simulated Champions League tournament, with both original and mod-exclusive characters filling the well known european teams.
