YOURE RIGHTT ABOUT THE WC2022!!!! there were some unforgettable memories and magical moments there for a lot of the fans of afc and caf national teams!!!

it’s definitely not personal or on purpose or anything (and i don’t begrudge anyone making these comparisons) but i’ve been seeing these euros compared with the wc22 everywhere over this weekend with the conclusion that the wc22 was dead and boring simply regarding the matches both here on tumblr and otherwise and i’m reminded once again how subconsciously eurocentric ppl’s attitudes are because yeah it absolutely was not. there was so much passion and history made for afc and caf national teams (and of course argentina winning the wc) and to me there was so much more togetherness and love and most importantly hope for the future of asian + african football than at the euros (obviously). that’s a subjective opinion obviously but it’s not true that the wc22 wasn’t full of passion bc it was and to see so many european heavyweights humbled and knocked out was deeply gratifying!! football is the global sport!!

i was talking w my brother abt this today!!! maybe it’s just me making connections (being delusional) but the way he’s playing rn reminds me so much of thiago during 21/22 - the way he would break up play, win the ball back, press super high and then play perfect passes for our other midfielders or pre-assists for our attackers…… i love it <3 like our midfield yesterday was soooooo chef’s kiss and he’s not even playing in his “preferred position”!!!
