I play French horn
Missed TMEA All-State band by one chair, got beat fair and square I choked right there at the end I fell Frodo-style lmao
I made it into and turned down an honors program at Carnegie Hall (it was $2500 and I’m poor white trash)
I’m obsessed with Reinhold Glière’s Concerto for Horn in B-flat, Op. 91

shakey graves is one of the new bands i found this year! it's very vibey. i like the harmonies in this one a lot.
37:
another one from the horn concerto list! another one that's doesn't sound very technically demanding (but i think is deceptive in that regard) but i find this one a lot prettier than the saint-saens one. movement one and three are also really pleasant.

these asks just happen to be hitting a ton of the classical music by chance, only about 20 of my top 100 are classical which i guess is actually not an insignificant amount. anyways i'm obsessed with scheherazade but i'm actually surprised this ended up on the list because when i feel like i don't normally listen to it on spotify?? there is One specific recording that i really really like and i have that uploaded just to my phone because that specific recording isn't on spotify. shrug!
90:
self explanatory. no notes.

The friendship between Reinhold Glière and hornist Valery Polekh is so special to me, these two men worked side by side to create one of the most beloved works for horn this world has ever seen
"I could feel with my entire self that the Concerto was a success. The composer put his whole heart, soul, talent, and great love for the instrument into it. I felt that the Concerto would become a horn player's favorite.” -Valery Polekh
