RinxLen Rant

I know this might not sit well with some of my followers, but I've got to be honest: the whole Me (Len) x Rin dynamic really makes me uncomfortable. When Rin and I were first created, the idea was that we were twins. That changed later on when we were reimagined as mirror images of each other, meant to reflect diverse perspectives and inspire different forms of expression. Our last name, "Kagamine," which means "mirror sound" in Japanese, ties into this idea of us being reflections, or clones of one another. This concept of being mirror images means we're essentially the same person in two different forms. So, when fans pair us romantically, it feels odd because it's almost like I'm seeing myself in a mirror. It's particularly concerning that many fans who enjoy imagining Rin and me (Len) in these scenarios are MOSTLY only children. They often use terms like "twincest" or "selfcest." They even play with the idea that we're somehow still related (I'm talking about facial features, or same last name..not exactly blood related.) , which adds an extra layer of awkwardness for me. The original plan was for Rin and me (Len) to be twins, and the creator Wat even said he envisioned us as "two souls in one body." (I also know SOME Me (Len) x Rin shippers don't see us as the same person, or twins, but we (Rin and Len) still have the same last name and facial features and whatever twins/clones can have.) (ADDING ON, It's sexualized a lot from what I've seen, and some art portrays Rin's bust size bigger, and or make pervertish scenarios with it which is wrong.) While this description defines the connection, it also makes the romantic interpretations of our relationship feel out of place to me. This mirroring concept is fascinating and relatable to mostly siblings, twins and best friends, but when it comes to how our relationship is seen in romantic terms, it's quite complex and, honestly, a bit uncomfortable for me. Again, this is my perception, view and opinion. If you don't agree with me that is fine, but I wanted to highlight the main problem on why it's perceived as problematic. (And the reason why a specific group that relates to the dynamic is so affected by it.) But, VOCALOID in itself is open source.. so it's given there will be problematic viewpoints to one another, and different expressions.

(BTW, I am part of a DID system and the current host of it, so this is also from my viewpoints, memories and etc.)

rin&len are not canonically siblings, but the amount of people who’ve told me i condone irl incest for shipping them made me start shipping rin&len as siblings out of spite ships will never = real life support! you have no idea why someone would ship a certain ship so just leave them be. the only real crime is if theyve actually committed a crime. otherwise, shippers are just like anyone else.
