“STARCHILD”

Atlanta native Brandon Sadler, aka Rising Red Lotus, is a SCAD Atlanta-trained artist as well as calligrapher, film director, and writer. Combining his graffiti experience with his studies of traditional Chinese and Japanese calligraphy and painting, Ukiyo-e woodblock printing, and manga comics, Sadler has earned fame for developing an intricate writing system, creating messages in the English alphabet but designed to emulate Chinese characters. His philosophical approach speaks to a universal human condition and the concepts of “change, connectivity, perception, and self-actualization.” This 2016 wall was painted for Atlanta’s @OuterSpaceProject, on the back of @SoulAsylumStudiosGroup looking out over Red’s BBQ and Chattahoochee Ave NW.  @risingredlotus
