i cant fucking breathe, why does this ai spam out stratagems like breathing. i can barely manage a recoilless rifle between throwing them offstage. I'm scared to fight them.
Also they are a very well made. They are a mix of rush down and zoning where it kinda feels like you can't let them have a moment of peace but also can run down because of their good speed and scrap game. The goal when fighting them is to leave them in a middle ground where you can't get burst optioned and they can't mortar or call stratagems.
Good burst options include side special(dive), all of the aerials, f smash, jab, down tilt, and neutral special(gun with live rounds) in which the neutral special is where the thinking stops as it is essentially a repeating hit box in front of your face angling downward in the air. It shoots out a low damage non flinching projectiles and because it's constantly putting a hitbox out it means you can just keep spraying and maybe the opponent will walk into it and give you a free combo.
Good ranged options include up smash(mortar), down smash(grenade), neutral special(kinda but no knock back on bullets), down special in which has the a lot of stratagems and if you spam it out like the cpu good on you.

Earlier in the Rivals of Aether Steam Workshop,
I released a few kinda cool things.
The first one is a reworked, definitive edition of Troops, my second mod ever made for RoA. I had made him still within the workshop's first few months, all the way back in 2019. However, unlike Bluey Azure, I had mostly left him to the wayside since then. That changed now, though.
He sports a few new moves that make better use of his hammer and Paratroopa nature, including a move where he becomes none other than the dreaded Spiny Shell. Plus, he has a cool new backward cap now.
Troops is actually one of my older original characters(despite not being really original lol), nearly as old as Bluey himself, so I'm glad to finally be giving the justice I should've given him before.
But that's not all...
The other release was Ms. Game & Watch, a new character made as an alternative, more Rivals-pilled take on Mr. Game & Watch from Smash Bros. Her design is based off the lady from Oil Panic.
She follows the same general idea as Mr.G&W - a fighter that uses many wacky moves based on Game & Watch games, and even borrows a couple things of his, but she's largely her own character, and the things she did borrow have unique spins on them.

So much more than time has been taken. Lakes In Stillnesss will Take Every life of the Night.
Created for the "extended workshop" community's Horror Jam, Slender Man, The Folklore strikes fear into the battlefield!
One of THE original creepypastas, Slender Man is definitely one of the few true representations of Internet Horror. Especially with youtube series like Marble Hornets or EverymanHYBRID, he's influenced so much of the landscape. 2020's had an interesting resurgence of Slender Man, portraying him in a more lighthearted, silly man kind of manner, but with this custom character, i wanted to revisit the ominous aura he's always had and properly represent him - or, well, atleast in my own way.

why the fuck pingu of all of the workshop has the sacred trifecta of rivals (stage control, noncommittal pressure options[zoning or tools to make someone not zone you], and synergy of kit)
he has a tool to force anyone into the air, projectiles to punish those who got flung up, and good normals that aren't stubby.

Me and my friend VVizard have collaborated to develop and release Miles Edgeworth from the Ace Attorney series as a custom Steam Workshop fighter in Rivals of Aether!
In his incessant search of the truth, Edgeworth prosecutes the competition equipped with the almighty power of facts and logic (and chess), as well as the help of his trusty assistants, the bumbling detective Dick Gumshoe, and the Great Thief Yatagarasu herself, Kay Faraday.

Now that the Mario jam is wrapped up, I'm proud to show off all the custom assets that I sprited while working on Funky Kong's homestage, Homecoming Hijinx! There's of course the rotating bananas and a recreation of the classic VFX, the barrel itself (animated through code), the multicolored balloons, and several particle sprites! Believe it or not, the barrel and ice particles are actually 10 individual sprites that are drawn as projectiles!
There are also the platforms, but those animations were heavily based on co-stage developer Ghostabo's environment sprites, so you'll have to check out the stage for that one!
