New video being edited on our newest oldest CSM - a 1892 vintage Gearhart with rotating cylinder. It was lovingly refurbished by @chambordcsm twice! (Canada Post shipping dropped it -even protected as it was - and that broke the base - Dave fixed that!). This 56 and 72 cylinder machine did not come with a ribber and will now be part of our CSM demo kit at non-CSM events. Happy Halloween! We’re excited to be looking into this antique circular sock machine. It currently features a 56 and 72 needle slot cylinder and works by rotating the cylinder (not the cam shell on the outside). Pete Oswald confirmed that the cylinders themselves were usually made from lead. This machine (for when it was made) did not have a ribber, it featured a short stem weight with an extra weight puck, a V hook to work heels and toes and a special very early days Heel hold down tool.
