Foreign ownership of a home is only permitted in commercial housing construction projects (i.e., newly formed residential areas) and not in an area designated for national defense and security. The foreigners combined may not buy, rent and purchase, receive, inherit and own more than 30% of apartments in an apartment building;  or no more than 250 separate houses, including villas and row houses, in an area with a population that is comparable to that of a ward-administrative division.
