Transforming Agriculture with Fixed Wireless: Empowering IoT in Rural Farming

Introduction
The agricultural industry is on the brink of a digital revolution, thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT). Farmers and large agricultural installations are increasingly turning to IoT solutions to optimize their operations, enhance crop yields, and reduce resource consumption.
In this blog post, we will explore why Fixed Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) are the ideal solution for empowering IoT in rural farming and large agricultural settings.
The IoT Revolution on Farms:
IoT technology has found fertile ground in agriculture, revolutionizing how farms operate. Here’s why IoT is flourishing in rural farming:
Precision Agriculture: IoT sensors and devices allow farmers to collect real-time data on soil conditions, weather patterns, crop growth, and equipment performance. This data empowers them to make data-driven decisions, optimize irrigation, and apply fertilizers precisely where needed.
Livestock Monitoring: Farmers can track the health and behavior of livestock using IoT-enabled wearable devices. This data enables early detection of illnesses, efficient feeding, and improved animal well-being.
Smart Irrigation: IoT-controlled irrigation systems monitor soil moisture levels and weather forecasts. They adjust watering schedules automatically, reducing water wastage and lowering operational costs.
Supply Chain Management: IoT sensors are used to track the condition of crops and products from the field to the market. This ensures the quality and safety of agricultural products and reduces post-harvest losses.
Equipment Maintenance: IoT sensors on farm machinery provide predictive maintenance alerts. This minimizes downtime, prolongs the life of equipment, and ensures optimal performance during critical farming seasons.
Why Fixed Wireless Holds a Competitive Advantage:
Fixed wireless technology is the perfect match for the IoT-driven agricultural landscape, offering several advantages over other potential solutions:
Broad Coverage in Rural Areas: Fixed wireless networks established by WISPs are well-suited for providing internet connectivity to remote farms and large agricultural installations. They extend high-speed internet to areas where traditional wired infrastructure is costly or unfeasible.
Scalability for Expanding IoT Networks: Agricultural IoT deployments often involve a multitude of devices spread across vast areas. Fixed wireless networks are highly scalable, accommodating the increasing demands of IoT without extensive infrastructure investments.
Low Latency for Real-Time Data: IoT applications on farms frequently require real-time data transmission. Fixed wireless connections offer low latency, ensuring that data from IoT devices is transmitted and processed quickly, a critical factor for timely decision-making.
Reliability in Challenging Environments: Farms and agricultural settings can present harsh conditions, such as rugged terrain and adverse weather. Fixed wireless technology is designed to withstand these challenges, offering robust and reliable connectivity even in demanding environments.
Flexibility in Network Deployment: WISPs can strategically position fixed wireless access points to cover specific IoT deployment areas, tailoring network designs to meet the unique needs of agricultural IoT applications.

Just like crops, growth cannot be rushed. As a farmer, you understand that nature has its own rhythm, and true growth happens through consistent nurturing and care. Every element, whether it’s the soil, agro solutions, seeds, or weather play a crucial role in shaping the future of your farm, and this process takes time.
In the same way, real progress in both farming and life demands patience. Success comes from trusting the process and letting your efforts bear fruit in their own time. Patience, persistence, and dedication are the building blocks of a plentiful harvest.

Tomar must shun defaming Punjab instead pursue MSP guarantee law: Bibi Rajwinder Kaur Raju
Says Tomar trying to camouflage Modi's jumla of doubling farmers' income
Mahila Kisan Union demands solid policy from Center for organic farming
Chandigarh 27 April : Alarming a categorical warning to Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar the Mahila Kisan Union has asked him to immediately stop defaming the progressive farmers of Punjab for using unnecessary fertilizers, chemicals and pesticides on crops and not to sermon them to adopt only organic farming without providing any central assistance.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, President of Mahila Kisan Union Bibi Rajwinder Kaur Raju said instead of blaming and admonishing the farmers of Punjab and other states who brought Green Revolution in the country, the Central Government itself should make natural farming profitable by taking broad base steps besides financial assistance.
Advising the union minister to adopt right path for farmers' welfare, woman farmer leader said "instead of giving 'Sarkari' advice to experienced farmers to adopt organic farming as an alternative mechanism in lieu of crop diversification, centre should implement MSP Guarantee Act for such organic crops".
She further added that in a failed attempt to camouflage the promised 'Jumla' propagated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for doubling farmers' income by 2022, the Union Minister was on a BJP mission to cover up the shortcomings of the government, divert public attention, avenge the farmers' Andolan and defame the 'Annadata' thereby resorting to irrational propaganda against the farmers.
Reminding the Union Minister about historic Green Revolution, Bibi Raju said the then governments, protagonists, agricultural universities and agri scientists were responsible for motivating the farmers for adopting chemical farming to make the country self-reliant for food grains, adding she said the Modi government was going beyond that for the sake of corporates and not providing any help to make agricultural a profitable occupation.
"Now every farmer wants to return to natural farming but due to the half yield of the crop per acre, there was no financial support from the government, fair price of the natural produce and adequate marketing facilities", adding she said due to such unfavourable agri policies of the Centre, only 2% of the agricultural land in the country was under natural cultivation.
Women leader Bibi Raju said the farmers of the country didn't need the reprehensible behaviour of the government to promote organic farming, but the Center should make a concrete policy for alternative system of organic farming and guarantee of income for natural products.
The Mahila Kisan Union has warned Narendra Tomar that women farmers would burn his effigies and his entry into Punjab would be strongly opposed if he didn't stopped the reprehensible campaign, especially against the farmers of Punjab.
