RIGHT this is such an insignificant thing but its been bothering me so much for the past couple of years (since the moonage daydream trailer came out)

in the trailer (and i think film) there is a clip where david bowie says “they’re shoe-shoes, silly!”, and this has been being quoted and loved by many people but it is FAKE!!!

these are both real things he said in that interview, but the part where he said “shoe-shoes” and the part where he said “silly” were actually a couple sentences apart

at about 11:50 this happens:

RUSSELL : " … are those men’s shoes or women’s shoes or bisexual shoes? "

BOWIE : " They’re shoe shoes, they’re just shoes … "

then, not too soon later, at around 12:05 this happens:

RUSSELL : " … in the morning, when you get up do you not fall off the end of the bed because you think you’re higher than you are? "

BOWIE : * laughs * " No of course I don’t, silly! "

RH: You know you haven’t… your accent, your voice, your method of speech has not changed, you’ve been away for two years.

DB: Yeah.

RH: Does that mean that you’ve been locked away somewhere?

DB: Yes, I don’t talk to anybody.

RH: Right, what’s brought you back? Are you short of money, or are you short of the ‘feeding off live audience’ bit.

DB: I’m short of England more than anything else.

RH: In what way, I mean you do know the England you left two years ago is not the England you’re going to come back to.

DB: Yeah, well this Thursday is nothing like last Thursday but it’s just as important. I’d miss it if it wasn’t after Wednesday.

DB: A discipline doesn’t mean that you make sure that you have breakfast at eight o’clock in the morning and you are out of the house by half past eight. A discipline is that you… if you conceive some thing, then you decide whether or not it’s worth following through, and if it’s worth following through then you follow it through to its logical conclusion, and do it with the best… to the best of your ability. That’s a discipline, yes?

I love Miss. Jackson! I think she's one of the few women who really exudes sex appeal all while not trying too hard in doing so. Her soft voice, her smile, her super pure and kind personality - perfect example of how this particular appeal should never be forced. i could see how anyone can fold just being in her presence. The persona that Marylin Monroe portrayed to the public was essentially an act as she wasn't being authentically herself, but she can be used as a source of inspiration nonetheless. Marylin was pretty consistent with having this child-like, super feminine innocence about her. I personally found it to be adorable. It's pretty obvious why she was the bombshell of the 50s. Diana Dors has been a new favorite of mine. My favorite 50s blonde bombshell has always been Marylin and although the two are somewhat similar looks-wise, Diana had more of an edge to her personality-wise.
