“ You've really gone and done it now, cousin. ” It's hard to look away from the flickering green light in her hand, something that kept her alive while everyone else at the Conclave died. Sometimes, he wondered if his family wished he'd gone instead of @satellitewar. Maybe he'd have died. He doesn't let any of this on, though, as he looks at Hypatia. “ I'm glad to help you, of course. Anything to keep me away from home. ” Simon pauses, clearing his throat. “ Have your parents said anything about this? ”

Varric certainly had a way with words, so much so that she wouldn’t be surprised if he fudged the truth about the Inquisition finding this place on a whim and he actually sweet talked the owner into giving it up. All this to say, Noora was very impressed. Her Dwarven friend had left her alone, looking over the grounds of Skyhold to watch the people there walk around, small like ants.
She hears @satellitewar before she sees her, and turns to greet the Inquisitor with a bashful smile. This poor woman — Noora knows how it feels to have a role thrust upon her, and wonders if the other finds herself in the same position. Agreeing to one thing led to another, one small job became her killing an Arishok to her being wanted in the Free Marches and Par Vollen. “ Inquisitor. ” She extends a hand, cool from the ice magic that runs in her veins. “ Varric has spoken rather . . . highly of you. Although, I don’t know if I should offer my congratulations or my condolences. ”

i’m glad you decided to escort me. her voice pierces through the various chattering and music filling the air around them, causing him to come back down to earth. it had felt like a millennia since he was last in orlais, surrounded by the intricacies of the court and the game. having hypatia here was going to be a godsend. “ and i’m glad you invited me. ” he says with a wide smile, all of a sudden very aware of her fingers in the crook of his elbow, and of her dark eyes boring into his. he knew they had a mission here tonight — save the empress. uncover the traitors. they’d use their nobility to their advantage, of course. josephine was insistent. this was his first outing as duke paul atreides, and he could anticipate the hundreds of pairs of expectant eyes on him. what would he do? what would he say?
walking into the ballroom arm - in - arm with the inquisitor was one hell of a message. HOUSE ATREIDES STANDS WITH THE INQUISITION. a house once thought eradicated, now loud and proud with their intentions. the maker guides me. the maker has brought me to her to set forth his great purpose. as their introduction rings through the air, he does his best to remember why he’s here. lady inquisitor trevelyan, daughter of bann trevelyan of ostwick! duke paul atreides, son of the deceased duke leto atreides of caladan. it echoes in his ears, and although he wants to squeeze his eyes shut and drown out the noise, he doesn’t. instead, he turns to look at @satellitewar, a grin on his face. “ well, my lady, ” he’s aware of the ears around him — he can’t be seen being too casual with her, the herald of andraste, the inquisitor! “ it looks like all of orlais wants to speak with you. ” paul leans in for this part, lips parted slightly, close enough to brush against her earlobe if he wanted. “ save a dance for me, hypatia? ”

“ they're settling in well. ” he was too, for what haven provided, but he doesn't say that yet. he moved from a castle to a bunch of tents, and he was still getting his bearings . . . but the maker would guide him. he guided him to @satellitewar, after all. “ we're at your beck and call, herald. whatever you need us to do, we will do it. ” he offers her an easy smile, arms at his side. “ you're a trevelyan, right? perhaps you know my family. my father is leto atreides. ”
