some tips for my fellow poor kids
-if there is a daiso store near you everything there is so fucking cheap and they have so much shit like, kitchen supplies, make up, hats, gardening supplies, even some clothing and food trust me -the dollar store exists and is so so so helpful -for the love of god save your mason jars you can use them for almost anything -don't feel guilty about hoarding a lot of stuff can be reused or can be helpful later -don't hoard perishable foods -a big bag of rice is your friend -nuts are also protein not just meats -make it a habit to turn off lights in rooms you aren't using I know the dark is scary but electricity bills are scarier -piggy banks are definitely a thing, take one of those mason jars I mentioned earlier, tape over the outside and put it spare change and shit and don't fucking touch it unless it's an emergency -look into local trading posts on Facebook honest to god it's saved my moms life and we also now have a lot of people who are friends and allies who live close by -invest in spices and non perishable flavor additives, like chicken stock cubes -goodwill is usually extremely fucking cheap and has bulk items I know there's discourse about it but your personal discourse is also important -when a grocery store offers you some sort of club card that is free you take that and hold onto it tight -know where gas is cheapest, but almost always choose where is closest -if your rich friends refuse to help you or acknowledge your situation and they shame you for not being able to pitch in as much, leave their fucking asses -always have candles and flashlights -short hair=shorter showers -no shaving=shorter showers -it's okay to take charity and donations don't feel guilty about it -those old things you used to love having but don't need anymore? eBay is there for a reason -the library has computers -if you cannot afford a car, invest in a bike and know where bus stops are and what times they run Feel free to add
