I just finished season 2 of Sinkhole, and I really enjoyed it! It's weird! Here, in no particular order, are things I enjoyed in the podcast.

The format of basically reddit (audio) posts

Sometimes we hear reactions of our main character to Discourse, but we only hear stuff from the main character, not directed at them

Learning about best practices for magnetic tape handling. Teach me, Main Character. I love it.

Oh yeah. The Hole.

I love how the worldbuilding is handled. What is normal is normal even if it is not for the main character.

14 - Audio Tour Guide my beloved!! The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity and Mortality is one of my all-time faves, and the Guide is just too perfect for words.

17 - I think about Sinkhole a LOT. It wormed its way into my mind and I just sit and rotate it sometimes. Absolutely stunning show. Also the Silt Verses, but I feel like everyone already knew that haha

started listening to sinkhole the other day because im really good at doing literally anything other than my uni work - big fan. incredible vibes. fascinating explorations of a future where tech is progressing beyond digital and who/what gets left behind. and of course the big spooky hole in the ground.

particularly really enjoy all the different extra meanings that that little signoff phrase collects over the seasons

I believe it was you from whom I got the recommendations to listen to Desert Skies and Sinkhole? Desert Skies is fantastic and I'm really enjoying it. Sinkhole, though, is now one of my absolute favorites. I listened to it as close to straight through as my schedule allowed.

I'm really fond of both of them, so that seems probable. I'm so glad you enjoyed them (and it makes me so happy I could help you find shows you like).

Desert Skies is a lot of fun and I like the balance of ridiculous, interesting, and comforting it does so well. I'm keeping a spreadsheet for the lore as it comes up, too.

SINKHOLE on the other hand is of those pieces of media that, and I'm not sure how to express this satisfactorily, feels both alien and familiar and is kind of unique and balanced in a way that rewires how you think and connect with media a bit? Or, maybe that's just me.

Okay I've been listening to SINKHOLE and realllyyyyy liking it!!!! It's got an incredibly neat premise and the way that the world building is slowly unfolded has really great pacing. I'm about 2/3 of the way through the first season, and I'm really excited to see where it goes.

Highly recommended if you have feelings about archival work, data preservation and (at the moment) weird looming phenomena

Finally caught up with this absolutely amazing audio drama and made a quick mix for it - it's a WIP as the show is still in production but I had fun finding tracks that matched the sound design and energy of the show !
