Three-knife hairpin 三刀簪 (one for the country, one for the family, and one for oneself) was a popular headpiece among women in the city of Fuzhou, Fujian province.
Also known as "Three Hairpins” it consists of three small swords worn like hairpins, mostly made out of silver or white copper, and engraved with patterns.
There are various theories about the origin of the Three-Knife hairpin. The most popular one claims that it evolved from small sharp weapons worn by women during the Ming Dynasty in order to defend themselves against Japanese pirates raiding China’s coastline, by killing their enemies, or even committing suicide.

In June 2024, the three knives were selected as an intangible cultural heritage of Fuzhou, and more people became aware of this traditional clothing culture.

GongDeng 宫灯 palace lanterns, also known as court lanterns, are a distinctive type of traditional Chinese lantern and a hallmark of Chinese craftsmanship.
The city of Luoyang in Henan province was especially known for the production of palace and court lanterns. It’s also considered the origin of this craft.
As the name suggests, palace lanterns were initially used in the imperial palace. They are typically made with a delicate wooden frame, adorned with silk gauze or glass, and painted with various decorative patterns. These lanterns are celebrated for their elegance and regal courtly style. Used primarily within the court.

The lanterns in this post are from the Qing Dynasty and are made out of Zitan (red sandalwood)

INSTRUCTIONS ON NOT GIVING UP by Ada Limón

THE THING IS by Ellen Bass
you think, How can a body withstand this? Then you hold life like a face between your palms, a plain face, no charming smile, no violet eyes, and you say, yes, I will take you I will love you, again.
⤷ lee seokmin, wen junhui, jeon wonwoo, lee chan
THE COMING OF LIGHT by Mark Strand
Even this late it happens: the coming of love, the coming of light.
⤷ lee jihoon, kwon soonyoung, hansol vernon chwe

Carved prasiolite (green quartz) vase with coral branches. China, 20th century.
Gemstone carving is one of China's most ancient and important art forms. It is a craft steeped in history and tradition, continually reflecting the philosophy and culture of the Chinese people.
By traditional Chinese definition, hardstones are divided into two categories: jade, either jadeite or nephrite, and all other precious and semi-precious stones. Jade is considered the most esteemed gem of all and associated with many desirable qualities in humans.

2. Por lo que me dijo una amiga, Phil dijo que estaba cansado de hacer lore por ahora (algo así)
Entonces, aunque tengo más fé de que missa esté
aún así estoy triste 🥲
