I reject the false dichotomy between Pigeon Lovers and Parrot Lovers
Both are amazing, both are wonderful, both are perfect
Reblog if you too love BOTH pigeons AND parrots!

This is “Big Mama”, a fossilised Citipati (a type of oviraptorid dinosaur) She was fossilised, still brooding her nest of eggs, likely protecting them from a sandstorm 💗
Tumblr media
Big Mama protected her eggs until the very end. Some fossils of Oviraptorids were found with eggs, leading palaeontologists to believe they were egg stealers! It was then discovered that they were their own eggs; they were just looking after them. But they had already been given the name “Oviraptor” or “Egg Thief”…😭

My 25 years of palaeoart chronology...
An acrylic painting on card, from 2004. Titled "The Wreck," it depicts a submerged sauropod carcass and a collection of small marine reptiles. I painted it for my friend and marine reptile expert Richard Forrest.

Hi !!! Sorry to bother you but I want to ask what’s the difference between the Boyd Dino and the Puffles Dino? I recently got myself a Jellycat Dino which looks like the two Dinos I listed on top and I was wondering what type of Jelly he is. Thank you ^^
This is a question I get a lot, no problem, you can ask me anything about Jellycats! It just takes me a while to get back to people at this point because of the huge influx to my inbox every day, but questions about Jellycats don't bother me!
I own both those dinos, here are the stock photos and my own comparison photos (excuse the bad quality):
Boyd Dino and Puffles Dino
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The one on the left is Boyd Dino (same design family as the other so-called "Snugglets" Bailey Sloth, Beckett Fox, Barnaby Pup, Benji Koala, Brooklyn Hippo, Brodie Monkey etc…)
The one on the right is Puffles Dino, part of the Puffles Series. Both are medium size. Puffles Dino is older, bigger and chubbier and less floppy overall. The green color is actually very different, the legs are not floppy (Puffles is almost stuck in a permanent sitting position) and Boyd Dino has a tail while Puffles Dino does not. I hope that answers your question of whether you have a Boyd or a Puffles!🦕

Gigantic marine reptile's fossils found by British girl and father April 17 (Reuters) - A fossil jawbone found by a British girl and her father on a beach in Somerset, England belongs to a gigantic marine reptile dating to 202 million years ago that appears to have been among the largest animals ever on Earth. Researchers said on Wednesday the bone, called a surangular, was from a type of ocean-going reptile called an ichthyosaur. Based on its dimensions compared to the same bone in closely related ichthyosaurs, the researchers estimated that the Triassic Period creature, which they named Ichthyotitan severnensis, was between 72 and 85 feet (22-26 meters) long. That would make it perhaps the largest-known marine reptile and would rival some of the largest baleen whales alive today. The blue whale, considered the largest animal ever on the planet, can reach about 100 feet (30 meters) long.
Don't mind me, just thinking about how fossils for marine life are rarer than for land-based life and there could have been all kinds of shit living in there that we haven't even discovered yet.

Like a shot of espresso, the ceratosaurus is as energetic as they come! ☕ This loner dino loves to run up and down the dunes of Ariacotta Canyon, but they'll be even happier to come home with you! 🏃💨 If you've befriended a ceratosaurus in Paleo Pines, what did you call them? ☺️

So giving them robo arms to hold their shit has been the best decision ever (info after imgs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So im going absolutely feral about this AU, so in order to make sure they can still fight their war with guns i gave them robotic arms attached to the thingys on their armour.
Sim Troopers and regular soldiers have about what Church/Sarge wear, while Freelancers and special ops like Locus and Felix are closer to Tex. Hiding specific markings + making them more resilient.
Also please enjoy this height reference I've made (Locus gets honorary Red bc he deserves it). Some heights have been changed to be larger, in Lopez and Tex's case have been drastically changed as they are robots. Nerd stuff about who is what below.
Tumblr media
Caboose [Ankylosaurus magniventris]
Church, Carolina, Tex [Utahraptor ostrommaysi]
Washington [Megalosaurus bucklandii]
Tucker [Allosaurus fragilis]
Doc [Kentrosaurus aethiopicus]
Donut [Deinonychus antirrhopus]
Grif, Kaikaina [Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai]
Simmons [Maiasaura peeblesorum]
Sarge [Daspletosaurus torosus]
Lopez [Nasutoceratops titusi]
Locus [Lythronax argestes]
Edit: I forgot Donut and Doc my sons I'm so sorry the bit has breached containment

Interesting new paper from Cau, which concludes (among other things) that the evolution of Cenozoic birds/dinosaurs is not separate from, but a continuation of, Mesozoic theropod evolution

Welcome to Power Rangers Pines!
I’ve recently started playing @paleopinesofficial and I’m theming it after Power Rangers! My player character is Kendall (Morgan, Dino Charge), and I’ve already befriended Ethan the Styracosaurus (Dino Thunder) and Amelia the Ankylosaurus (Dino Fury). I’m hoping to find Koda the Stegosaurus (Dino Charge) soon once the game decides “Uncommon” isn’t actually “Ultra Rare”

My 25 years of palaeoart chronology...
...and into 2004. Although I always prioritised palaeo-projects, I was never going to pass on an opportunity to illustrate some DUNE covers, by Frank Herbert. This artwork was my cover illustration for THE GREAT DUNE TRILOGY (a large volume that included DUNE, DUNE MESSIAH, and CHILDREN OF DUNE). I also illustrated GOD EMPEROR OF DUNE, HERETICS OF DUNE, and CHAPTER HOUSE DUNE. The crazy thing was, the publisher accepted and published my colour draft drawings and paid me in full anyway!
