What we thought
From the moment we arrived everyone was helpful, friendly and informative and we both felt it was a really family-friendly site. On arrival we found that check in was quick and easy, and although the site itself is sloped, the pitches are leveled off and beautifully flat.
Our pitch with EHU had plenty of space and was close to the warm, immaculate shower, toilet and washing up block, which had plenty of hot water (even at 1.30 in the morning!) We were in amongst other camping pitches and permanently pitched.  There are more secluded pitches with EHU in the Summer Orchard area; the open grassy area in the middle, would also be great for kids to play in, and also would make a perfect area if you were going with a group. We went and had a look at the Glamping pods, which are cosy, with fantastic views across the fields.
Kids park and football field
We were loaned an extension cable for the EHU, and there are plenty of other extras should you need them from the reasonably priced onsite shop, selling food, snacks and camping sundries. There is a very well stocked information room with something for all ages and covering a wide geographic area. One of the staff helped me to pick out things that were nearby as we were only there for a short stay.  There is also a selection of board games, and a book exchange for rainy days.
Some of the caravans on site
We were right next to the play park, which was spotless and had enough for most ages to play on. The boys (four and six) were desperate to go and play while we set up the tent, which worked very well. The kids also loved the covered, heated swimming pool, which also had a welcoming atmosphere and was spotless, with chairs and tables, sun loungers and a shower and toilets. There is a small indoor toddler soft play area, which was a bit young for us, but looked great fun, and a games room with a selection of fruit machines, and video games all very inexpensive to play.
Food at the on-site restaurant
The onsite bar and takeaway were a great hit, serving burgers, fish and chips, fresh made pizza, as well as having a steak night – it is worth asking for the twice-cooked chips, as they were fantastic! We ate both at the outside tables, and inside, and it was spotless, and the staff went above and beyond to help.
Glamping accommodation available on site
Out and about in the local area
We visited a few local attractions, though there were plenty of others that we just did not get time for!
We thought that the Seaton coastline was great for rockpooling, collecting pretty stones and fossil hunting, and Seaton Jurassic provided entertainment, but needed longer than the hour and a half we left for it.
Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium is small, but perfect for children the age of ours, you can hand-feed specially trained grey mullet (which was a real highlight of the whole holiday), hold a starfish, meet a large crab, find out about local marine life and maritime history.
Getting hands on with marine life at the Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium
If you’re heading into In Lyme Regis we can recommend hunting out Frank and Beans Geletaria, the ice cream was amazing!
Pecorama is a wonderful tourist attraction nearby, with a ride on steam train, beautifully appointed gardens, adventure playgrounds for children of all ages, indoor soft play, crazy golf, trails to follow, and a great range of options for food. We opted for tea and scones in the beautiful Orion Pullman (advertised as over 12’s only, but well behaved children are allowed!), followed later by BBQ at The Whistle Stop.
Delicious ice cream at  Frank and Beans Geletaria in Lyme Regis
The food in the Garden Restaurant looked lovely too! We thoroughly enjoyed finding the secret garden, and a round of crazy golf, and the view from the steam train was amazing. We ran out of time to go to the Model Railway exhibition, or shop as the site is on a pretty steep slope and we had thoroughly exhausted the boys. Do plan to spend a full day here, or you will miss out!
Verdict
This is a super friendly camping and caravan site, in a lovely part of Devon that offers a great range of options from grass tent pitches through to glamping accommodation. We felt there was something for everyone and had a wonderful stay – we’d highly recommend this holiday park – I don’t think any of us were really ready to leave!
The on site bar
Although it didn’t bother me, my other half was aware of the noise from the main road running near the site. The website does make it clear that the onsite WiFi is slow (it is a rural location), and we found it intermittent at best from our pitch, although there were other places onsite where it is better.
Whether you are camping with a family, as a couple, or with a group this site has something to offer, and the cleanliness really is exceptional.
A big thank you to Andrewshayes Camping and Caravan Park who invited us to stay.

Fossil Flint Echinoid Conulus sp. (Sea Urchin, Shepherd's Crown) – Cretaceous Chalk, Seaton Devon UK – Authentic British Fossil with Certificate
This listing is for a beautifully preserved Fossil Flint Echinoid from the genus Conulus, colloquially known as a Shepherd’s Crown due to its distinctive pentagonal, crown-like shape. This fossil dates back to the Cretaceous Period (~145–66 million years ago) and was unearthed from the famous Cretaceous Chalk beds of Seaton, Devon, UK.
Conulus is an extinct genus of echinoid (sea urchin), a class of marine animals related to starfish and sea cucumbers. Echinoids once thrived on the seabed of warm, shallow seas that covered much of Europe during the Cretaceous. Over time, the silica from seawater replaced the original calcite shell, preserving the fossil within a flint nodule, often giving it a smooth and shiny appearance with excellent detail.
These echinoids have a rounded, dome-like test (shell) with fine ambulacral grooves and characteristic five-point symmetry—a key identifying feature of echinoderms. The name "Shepherd’s Crown" comes from the fossil’s shape, which resembles traditional shepherd headwear.
This specimen is part of a genuine British fossil heritage, ideal for collectors, educators, and nature enthusiasts alike.
Your specimen was discovered by our own team members Alister and Alison on 24 March 2025, and has been carefully cleaned, prepped, and treated by Alison to ensure both its beauty and preservation.

Fossil Flint Echinoid Sea Urchin (Shepherd’s Crown) – Cretaceous Chalk Fossil – Seaton Devon UK – With Certificate of Authenticity
This genuine Flint Echinoid Fossil (Shepherd’s Crown) comes from the Cretaceous Chalk deposits of Seaton, Devon, UK and is a stunning relic of Britain's prehistoric marine life. Echinoids, also known as sea urchins, were marine invertebrates that have existed for over 450 million years. This particular fossil dates back to the Cretaceous Period, approximately 100 million years ago, a time when much of what is now the UK was covered by warm shallow seas.
The name "Shepherd's Crown" comes from the distinctive star-shaped pattern often visible on the top surface of the fossil. These patterns are the preserved remains of the ambulacra – grooves through which the living animal's tube feet would have extended. This beautiful fossil formed when the original echinoid skeleton was replaced by silica over millions of years, producing the flint fossil preserved today.
This specimen was personally discovered by our expert team members Alister and Alison on 24 March 2025, and has since been carefully cleaned, prepped, and treated by Alison to ensure the highest display quality. It comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity, guaranteeing it as a 100% genuine fossil.
