Fossil Flint Echinoid Conulus sp. (Sea Urchin, Shepherd's Crown) – Cretaceous Chalk, Seaton Devon UK – Authentic British Fossil with Certificate
This listing is for a beautifully preserved Fossil Flint Echinoid from the genus Conulus, colloquially known as a Shepherd’s Crown due to its distinctive pentagonal, crown-like shape. This fossil dates back to the Cretaceous Period (~145–66 million years ago) and was unearthed from the famous Cretaceous Chalk beds of Seaton, Devon, UK.
Conulus is an extinct genus of echinoid (sea urchin), a class of marine animals related to starfish and sea cucumbers. Echinoids once thrived on the seabed of warm, shallow seas that covered much of Europe during the Cretaceous. Over time, the silica from seawater replaced the original calcite shell, preserving the fossil within a flint nodule, often giving it a smooth and shiny appearance with excellent detail.
These echinoids have a rounded, dome-like test (shell) with fine ambulacral grooves and characteristic five-point symmetry—a key identifying feature of echinoderms. The name "Shepherd’s Crown" comes from the fossil’s shape, which resembles traditional shepherd headwear.
This specimen is part of a genuine British fossil heritage, ideal for collectors, educators, and nature enthusiasts alike.
Your specimen was discovered by our own team members Alister and Alison on 24 March 2025, and has been carefully cleaned, prepped, and treated by Alison to ensure both its beauty and preservation.

Sigh. Nikola why must you be one of the more interesting oni characters. I don't wanna think abt you with your stupid spiky blond hair and your unethical science that mostly just serves to make Jackie more shitty by proxy. But I do. Because you're kind of orbo blorbo. Fuck you Nikola I hope you explode again
#rat rambles#oni posting#hes just extremely fascinating in the scientist crowd because he has a weirdly large presence in the like. actual meat of the lore.#like he has an actual arc that relates to the quote unquote plot of oni#he made the field around earth he made the neural vaculators (presumably) he contributed to the teleporters and was also involved with#some of the other projects in the bioengineering department and is one of the two scientists that we know for sure knew abt and worked with#duplicants and all of that and almost every instant of nikola being relevant hes only seen second hand#the One thing that we have that is Maybe directly from him is an email that hes the most likely canidate for#and I mean it Im pretty sure outside of that hes only ever either mentioned second hand or doesnt talk in the case of that one ellie email#even the one time we see proper dialogue from him it isnt even a recording its a second hand retelling from ruby#its soooo fascinating I dont even know if this was on purpose but I love it regardless#now tbf theres other characters who are also mostly if not only mentioned second hand but none that have as much of a lore presence as him#nails was close but then 'a seed is planted' dropped and they became a part of the troubling second hand nikola info club#watch them finally add ashkan dialogue and its just him talking abt nikola being involved in the puppy ai incident too or smth#the thing is that isnt even that out there nikola Did work on the teleporters and worked on somw gravitas time travel shit too so who knows#Im trying to think of theres anyone else whos mentioned in the logs but doesnt actually talk and I know there's steve and ada but hmmm#this isnt counting artifact or news artical specific mentions tbc we're talking within character dialogue#sorry meep mae and pei#WAIT cant believe I forgot abt devon rip bestie my sincerest apologies#I think thats it tho everyone else whos mentioned in dialogue has dialogue Im pretty sure#well direct dialogue I mean#oh tbc ashkan is also in that club#hes probably in second place on the weirdness of his lack of dialogue due to his striking presence in several log list#now tbf hes mentioned like 3 times I think? not counting artifacts ofc. so he's not talked abt That frequently#but one of those is in a paradox and the others are in story traits so its still interesting#I had already loved ashkan before doing my full lore dive so finding out this mysterious dr.ali was my boy ashkan was a delight#now ofc technically ashkan could have secret dialogue that we just dont know is him since we dont know his work id but still#we dont know nikolas either but nikola is likely in engineering and ashkan is likely in robotics so theyre both not likely to be them#they Could be as they do likely work with the bioengineering department but nikola is fully crossed out as the fossil guy at least#ashkan Could be the fossil guy but its not likely imo as theyre also the guy in the husbandry log implying theyre fully a biologist

Fossil Restoration
The first to discover how to revive ancient prehistoric Pokémon from preserved fossils was one Dr. Fuji in the Kanto region on Cinnabar Island in the Cinnabar Lab. Other kinds of research was pioneered here, such as the invention and creation of Porygon and the PC Storage System which was instrumental for the invention of fossil revival.
For some time, Kanto (and, by extension, Johto) were the only regions capable of reviving fossils for this reason until Sinnoh was able to gain access to this technology thanks to their rich fossil deposits naturally found in the region and Bebe’s assistance with the project as her work was built from scratch based on the work done in Cinnabar Lab.
Devon Corp in Hoenn invented their own version of the technology for use in Hoenn and is a bit behind compared to the Cinnabar Lab’s version. After some time, both versions came into widespread use in other regions.
There is some debate as to whether the Pokémon were Rock-types when they were originally alive in the prehistoric age or if the fossilization process altered the physical makeup of these prehistoric Pokémon upon revival.
When Pokémon are revived from fossils, they do not retain concrete ‘memories’ in the traditional sense, but rather they remember what it was like to be alive when they last lived and remembered what that time was like to live in in a general sense. They even have their own language different than that of modern day Pokémon. However, some things seem to be different about themselves than they remember, which does suggest some degree of alteration that takes place within the revival process due to either the fossilization itself or the revival process inherently that creates some confusion for them, though they are consistently quick to adjust.
However, the integrity of fossils seems to be integral to the revival viability of the Pokémon potentially inside of them, as there are some fossils that due to their incompleteness, cannot be revived on their own. This has led to some Scientists (namely in Galar) attempting to complete these fossils using those of other Pokémon, though this is often to mixed and borderline unethical results and is the subject of greater criticism and scrutiny within the paleontology community at large. In many regions, these Pokémon are forbidden due to the poor quality of life that they suffer as a result of their haphazard revival and may even be surrendered and euthanized upon surrender. The Pokémon Association, in response, is currently in the process of reviewing and creating a rigid ethical standard in regards to creating manmade Pokémon and reviving Fossil Pokémon that comes with steep consequences if violated.

Jurassic Park Pokemon Teams
The events of the Pokemon World Jurassic Park are much like the events of the original but with small tweaks.
Unlike the original, this film is more sort of a look into the development of the first Fossil Restoration machine. In lore, fossil pokemon are able to be revived thanks to technology from the Devon Corporation and a research lab on Cinnabar Island. For this story, we are setting aside those two and introducing InGen into the mix. InGen is still a Genetics company that is experimenting in genetic engineering.
Fossil pokemon DNA is impure during revitalization, but through the usage of Ditto's adaptable genetic structure, the DNA of the fossil pokemon are completed. This is of course the stand-in for the frog dna that allows the dinosaurs to change their sex/gender as Ditto is quite literally gender-fluid.
The Pokemon version of Jurassic Park is still an attraction somewhat akin to the wildlife zones in Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. Of course, to capture pokemon, you have to pay a fee and use the specialized Jurassic Balls made by InGen, spared no expense. The few fossil pokemon not made for capture is of course the carnivorous pokemon. Other than them, the various herbivorous fossil pokemon of Jurassic Park are able to be captured with the Jurassic Balls.
The pokemon that originally inhabited Isla Nublar are pokemon native to the Alolan Pokedex of Pokemon Sun & Moon and some from Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Some alolan forms such as Exeggutor and Rattata exist, but others like Alolan Meowth do not.
Dr. Alan Grant Alan's team is primarily taken out of the Unova Pokedex of B2W2. This is because of how Archen and Archeops (as well as the Deinonychus Fakemon I will be making later) are based in Unova. Alan's first scene takes place in Montana, which is of course in America.
Sandshrew- Alan Grant is a paleontologist, and paleontologists due their work by digging. The reason why Alan's Sandshrew isn't a Sandslash is because he isn't a pokemon trainer, and more of a caretaker for them.
Drilbur- Another digging pokemon, and unevolved for the same reasons as Sandshrew.
Dr. Ellie Sattler Like Alan, Ellie's team is taken from the Unova Pokedex of B2W2. She
Leafeon- Leafeon's modern way of evolution is through a leaf stone. As a paleobotanist, I'm certain that Ellie encounters those fossils quite frequently
John Hammond A wealthy Scottsman and head of a genetics company, John Hammond's pokemon team mostly comes from the Crown Tundra Pokedex. Although in this version of the story, he comes from Galar as the Crown Tundra is mostly wilderness.
Copperajah- A reference to the novel, Hammond's Copperajah is genetically engineered to be the smallest of its kind much like the elephant in the novel. This Copperajah is unfortunately very weak and very ill.
Mega Aerodactyl- John Hammond's cane has a a piece of fossilized amber with a mosquito inside. To get an aerodactyl in most games, a piece of fossilized amber is needed to restore the pokemon. However, my version of John Hammond does not have this amber in his cane, but in fact a keystone. His Aerodactyl, genetically modified to have the strongest stats and the most beneficial nature, has its own mega-stone attached to it. John's relationship with Aerodactyl however isn't strong, which is required with Mega Evolution. So, during the climax where the raptors are attacking the guests, Hammond tries to be the hero and mega-evolves his aerodactyl. Of course, this goes terribly wrong and the mega aerodactyl, stressed out from mega-evolving, attacks John Hammond.
Dr. Ian Malcolm As Dr. Ian Malcolm is a chaostician/mathmatician, his pokemon represent chaos and other concepts. As for why Dr. Malcolm's pokemon are fully evolved, I'm unsure. I guess I would say its because they're fully evolved because Dr. Malcolm likes the unpredicatable nature of Pokemon battles. His team isn't meant to be that strong however as he still loses to the T. Rex.
Absol- Always predicting the future chaos to come forth and hated for it, Absol feels like the perfect match for the Chaostician.
Gothitelle- another pokemon with foresight, this pokemon was specifically chosen for how it predicts the future: movement of the stars. Dr. Ian Malcolm predicted that everything would go wrong in Jurassic Park through mathematics. Gothitelle is meant to relfect that.
Haxorus- This is a partial reference to the "Dragon's Curve," a fractal that appears in the book to signify the beginning of a chapter. Its meant to signify the chaotic nature of complex systems. Now while Zygarde is a better pokemon to signify this, I decided not to include it as I didn't want Dr. Ian Malcolm to have a legendary pokemon. His Haxorus' ability is Rivalry which is meant to also reflect him kind of butting-heads with Dr. Grant and Hammond, but being flirtatious and kind with Dr. Sattler.
Dr. Henry Wu Jurassic Park's main geneticist, Dr. Wu is responsible for the creation of this Jurassic Park's fossil pokemon.
Ditto- Wu's Ditto is the donor for the fossil pokemon's hybrid DNA. A theory suggests that Ditto is created out of failed Mewtwo clones. I'm not entirely going with this theory, but its with that theory in mind that I'm giving Wu a Ditto.
Ray Arnold Ray was the chief engineer of Jurassic Park. His team is meant to reflect that.
Klang- Mechanics
Magnemite- Electrical mechanics
Robert Muldoon Being experienced with dealing with predators as Jurassic Park's Game Warden, Muldoon is the only person in jurassic park that is capable of handling the fossil pokemon by having a full team. Meaning, like in the novel, Muldoon survives along with most of his pokemon.
Mega Sceptile- In the novel, Muldoon utilizes a rocket launcher on the t. rex. Mega Sceptile's tail can fire off like a rocket launcher.
Gallade- Its foresight ability is capable of helping it fight in battle, and in an environment like Jurassic Park, it becomes even more useful. In some forms of media, Robert Muldoon is shown to carry a machete, and this sharp weapon is also why Gallade was chosen.
Revavroom- A reference to the "Must go faster!" scene from the movie, Revavroom is modeled after gas powered vehicles.
Sandaconda- Another refence to the movie, this is more sort of a reference to the type of gun Muldoon carried in that film.
Bisharp- Bisharp is a pokemon that gives commands.
Zangoose- while seemingly an odd choice, Robert's rivalry with the raptors is meant to be reflected in Zangoose's rivalry with Seviper. However, in the "shoot her scene," Robert's Zangoose takes the place of Joffrey aka the guy who dies from the velociraptor at the beginning of the film.
Lex Murphy Being older than Tim, Lex is suitable for becoming a pokemon trainer. However, a scene in the movie that sets up her role in the final act mentions her being good with computers. This means she wouldn't exactly have a good pokemon team
Scorbunny- In Tim & Lex's first scene, Hammond asks the siblings if they received the gifts he had sent. In this universe, Scorbunny was the gift Lex receives. Lex is shown to like the sport of baseball, especially in the novel. While Scorbunny is based on soccer/football players, it was a close enough answer to fit.
Dedenne- A reference to Lex being a "hacker" in the movie. I didn't want to give her a rotom, so I instead gave her a pokemon with a connection to wire and currents.
Tim Murphy Being around 10 during the events of the movie, Tim is suitable enough to become a pokemon trainer. So, he would of course have a starter pokemon
Sobble- As mentioned in Lex's reasoning for getting a Scorbunny, Tim also gets a pokemon. His of course being Sobble as he does get severely shocked in the movie, and also goes through traumatic situations that would give a Sobble a headache from crying. Also, its a reptile, dinosaur kids love reptiles.
Dennis Nedry The reason why mostly everything goes wrong in Jurassic Park is because of Nedry screwing up the systems. His death reflects that of what happens in the Novel but with more horrifying implications as Dilodelic is not venomous.
Rotom- A mischievious pokemon that messes with technology, it is the perfect match for Dennis Nedry. In the pokemon version of Jurassic Park, Dennis' Rotom causes the system to shut down along with a few additions from Dennis himself.
Munchlax- This one is obvious, but Dennis is a glutton. Of course he's going to have a Munchlax on his team. And yes, unfortunately Munchlax bites the dust in this version of Jurassic Park thanks to the Dilodelic.
Donald Gennaro The "Blood-Sucking" lawyer Donald Gennaro's team is meant to be fitting of that of a lawyer who's only interest is the money of Jurassic Park.
Sableye- Sableye's diet consists of gems and minerals, all things that can make a man rich. Donald Gennaro is similar to this. When he doesn't find money to be made, he disregards it.

General Info Post
Hello, I'm Andrea Saknussemm, a geological survey researcher and fossil expert that formerly worked for Devon Corp. I've since parted ways with the company and have started work with a few others to create an independent museum.
This Museum has several purposes, the first is to create a natural history museum that is run independent of companies like Devon Corp and to be accessible to the indigenous people of Hoenn. The second, is to help protect and preserve the culture of the Draconid people, and make Archaeological and Anthropological papers about our culture and history by Draconid people.
I'm not much of an anthropologist or an archaeologist, but we're also interested in our Fossil Heritage and the Geological history of our homeland.
I will be on occasion making posts on this blogposts including new papers published by this Museum's research team, and willing to answer any questions people might have.
If this interests you in any way, this is my Profile:

Hi, this is the Mod, I've been around roleplaying for twenty years. My first tumblr rp blog I made now 14 years ago, the last one I ever played I made was from a decade ago now. I wanted to write a few things on here to make clear to anyone who wants to interact:
-I am, as should be obvious above, an adult and not a minor. I'm open to any kind of roleplay. However, please do not use this invitation to be a creep. I've had enough of that for a lifetime. EDIT: While I don't mind roleplaying with minors, please tell me if you're a minor. If you don't tell me you're a minor or lie about your age, I will block you.
-There are some heavy noncanon elements to this blog, and a lot of lore that'll be written here is guesswork or what I feel fits best. Not official sourcework.
--The big thing here is that this blog's idea is that it takes place in an alternate universe where Aster (assumed to be Zinnia's child) did not die, and in fact had children of his own. These children are Andrea and her sisters that might appear on this blog.
-Please keep in mind that my muse's views do not necessarily represent my own views. I prefer to keep bleed to a minimum with the understanding that if my character is mad at you or hates you, that's not a condemnation on my part.
-Any posts with this blue in them will be me speaking out of character, breaking character on something. I will do this sometimes to just make an idle comment, answer questions directed at me, or break character to check on roleplay partners, especially in intense scenes.

Pokémon Champion HC’s that came across my mind for some damn reason PT. 2
((This is part two of my Pokémon Champion HC’s. Part 1 is here: https://www.tumblr.com/pikachu78109/753035270331514880/pok%C3%A9mon-champion-hcs-that-came-across-my-mind-for
Steven
Hailing from a wealthy family, Steven has experienced a lot of people perceiving him as a pompous little rich boy. In actuality, Steven always felt insecure about his upbringing and always tried to prove that nasty stereotype wrong by indulging in his hobbies, like rock collecting and archeology. Steven’s a bright young man and seizes opportunity, never once allowing others to dictate how he should act given his privileged upbringing. Fact of the matter is, it’s been drilled into Steven’s head at a young age by his father to stay humble and to contribute to the work, either outside the company or in the family. The Stone family is a respectable family at the end of the day and that reputation must be upheld by setting a good example, which Steven intends to keep.
Steven’s relationship with Metagross started when he was very little, back when the steely hunk of metal was just a Beldum. These two are SUPER close and Steven treats Metagross like you would a puppy. Metagross is super spoiled, but very kind and protective, especially towards Steven. In a way, Metagross is Steven’s bodyguard but they work well as partners to overcome adversity. Seriously, you do NOT want to get on this Pokémon’s hit list.
As mentioned, I feel like Steven would be a skilled archeologist. The man can run down a list of fossils and the species to a tee. Aside from geological finds, Steven has a knack for discovering fossils and immediately recognizing what Pokémon they are. Seriously, the man doesn’t need to try.
Resides in Mossdeep, but occasionally flies back to Rustboro to see his father as Steven does help out at the company from time to time. Nothing too major, but Steven tends to help with any important news or updates at Devon Co., but he mainly goes to see his dad to check up on him as he’s getting on in years.
Close relationship with Wallace. These two have been BFFs for a long time and trust the other with their very lives. Wallace is definitely more extroverted than Steven, what with his flamboyance and extravagance in Pokémon contests, so Wallace takes the lead all the time while Steven is just fine in tagging along. Low key, though, Wallace does harbor feelings for Steven; he’s just waiting for a perfect moment to confess.
Steven has a HUGE rock collection that it’s almost concerning. Do not let this man lecture you about each and every stone that he has; you’ll be there for at least ten hours.
Wallace
If you look up the word ‘confidence’ in the dictionary, chances are that Wallace will be there. Wallace fears nothing and embraces opportunity with a dazzling performance that will surely awestruck the audience. More of a performer than battler, Wallace takes up the spotlight with little hesitation. His performance career started when he was young and he’s been perfecting his craft for years to be the best that he can be. As with battling, he’s fairly good, although prefers to battle with style and elegance.
Wallace deeply admires Steven. Just to add this in, I personally see Wallace as being bisexual as he had, at one point, dated Winona albeit in the manga. His relationship with Steven has always been very near and dear to him; to the point where it borders on affectionate. Steven is semi-oblivious about Wallace’s feelings for him and Wallace is still waiting for a perfect opportunity to confess. He has dropped hints here and there as a wink-wink-nudge-nudge, either in creative pick-up lines or gifting Steven a rare stone. Regardless, Wallace enjoys being around Steven as he gives him a nice break from Contests and the paparazzi.
Leaning further into the prior entry, Wallace loves coordinating Steven’s outfits. Steven knows how to properly fashion himself, but Wallace happens to take it up a notch with his expertise. I mean, he’ll say that Steven looks wonderful (as always), but a little extra pop brings out extra sparkle in Wallace’s eyes. If there’s any fashion emergency, Wallace is the man!
Aside from Contests and fashion, Wallace loves mythology. He owns a lot of books about Hoenn, Johto, and Sinnoh mythology that he likes to read in his spare time. He’s quite knowledgeable about the history of the Hoenn region, especially when it comes to his hometown of Sootopolis. Sometimes, when chance occurs, he’ll meet up with Cynthia and share the latest discoveries with her and vice versa.
Wallace is a master at self-care. He gives time to replenish himself and his team for a moment of R&R before any event to just take some time to recharge. Heck, he’ll spend maybe a couple of weeks of this to get fully replenished. He treats himself well and does the same for his Pokémon, as well as for other people, like Steven.
He’s often scrutinized for being a bit arrogant towards others due to his lifestyle, but that’s the furthest from the truth. While at times he may be condescending, in truth, Wallace is a passionate person. Whether in Contests or in battle, Wallace plays fair and gives others a chance to shine, not hoarding the spotlight for himself. He wants everyone to stand out in their own unique way, so Wallace encourages this by allowing others to perform at their own pace. It does get to him a bit, but he remains humble and courteous despite what commenters say.
Cynthia
Much like Lance, Cynthia grew up in an isolated location where the terrain can be dangerous if one dares to navigate it. What’s more, the dense fog that neighbors Celestic Town gets incredibly intense the further one ventures out. Therefore, if Cynthia wanted to leave the village, she would have to borrow one of her grandmother’s Pokémon that know the move Defog to get better visibility going. Still, unlike Lance though, Cynthia is a bit of a risk taker. She’ll attempt to navigate her way through the foggy terrain despite the residents telling her not to. As a kid, Cynthia yearns for adventure so she’ll take risks to achieve that dream. By the time she reached eleven, she finally set foot outside of Celestic Town to begin her journey, no foggy cold weather holding her back.
Cynthia’s all black outfit has often made her target with assumptions that she’s a Hex Maniac. She doesn’t quite understand why; she likes the color black and it complements well her hair color and style. To be honest, as a kid, I always assumed that Cynthia was a goth given her design and thought, ‘Oh, so that’s what a goth looks like’. Yes, feel free to judge.
Historian babe. Such a nerd when discovering old ruins and books and will peruse through them thoroughly. Cynthia leaves no stone nor page unturned. If there are secrets to be found, Cynthia will discover them and their deeper meaning.
Leaning into that previous entry, Cynthia is a bit annoying when it comes to factual information. See, Cynthia likes it authentic and dislikes being misled. It wastes her time and she has no patience for it. Give her sources, please! She will fact check it and will prove others wrong if she spots a miscalculation. Do not test her historian skills; your knowledge will get FUCKED.
Quite a competitive battler, as we all know and respect. Cynthia has a bit of a competitive streak but is pretty casual about it. She loves a challenge, so it’s not a problem if someone wants to test their skills against her.
Doesn’t like wearing revealing clothing. Look, Cynthia grew up in Sinnoh, possibly the coldest region in the Pokémon world. She doesn’t mind wearing tank tops or dresses, but anything that reveals way too much, like swimsuits in particular, are a flat out no. She’s quite conservative about her appearance and is well aware that she gets stares from people. However, she holds herself in high regard and keeps an air of pride at the forefront by dressing sharply and comfortably.
Upon thinking about retiring from her Pokémon Champion position, Cynthia would love to write a book about her travels to ruins and share her discoveries with others.

I was unaware of the sheer variety of technologies the Devon Corporation produced. From more conventional inventions such as personal communications devices, types of medicines, Pokéballs, to more… intriguing innovations such as a machine capable of reviving fossilized specimens.
I feel as if there should be some explanation as to why there seems to be such a disconnect to their inventions’ functions. Why would a corporation that originally started out its operations mining turn to making such advanced technologies; for the sake of scientific progress or for the sake of attaining financial gain?

Complied from the lost Professor Friede’s research notes as documented by new head of research Agate:
“From various artifacts I’ve been collecting that date back well before civilizations like Pokemonopolis, I’ve determined Rakua might be the oldest known civilization on this planet, and could perhaps be one of the first!
Their technology was quite advanced, surpassing what the top minds at Silph Co and Devon Corp have been developing. It seems they harnessed the power of a strange, reactive crystal they dubbed Rakuium, after the founding family of their society, and stored them in battery like Capsules to power their machines. These Capsules have been found on various Paradox Pokemon specimens, suggesting a connection. Having installed a Capsule in a piece of 100,000 year old machinery my team dug up, the machine still works flawlessly, as if it came off the assembly line.
It would appear digital technology is not a new phenomenon, as the Rakuians seem to have been the first to master it, with some wall reliefs I’ve found depicting Porygon and Porygon2. That said, some colleagues have noticed Porygon has appeared in ancient Hisui, with the time travel abilities of Celebi and Dialga thought to be the blame, but I remain skeptical. There is evidence to support the Rakuians may have perfected a proper Porygon3, but as I’ve yet to find any remaining data on this, I fear it is lost to time.
The study of Rakuium is still new to us, but it presents a volatile reaction to modern Pokemon, increasing their power, but rendering them insane. The ancient Rakuians clearly did not have this problem, as they lived harmoniously with their Pokemon, perhaps they found a way to nullify this power, or did modern Rakuium change for the worst? I noticed the remains of a crystal structure Team Flare weaponized in Kalos appears to be Rakuium, but it did not cause the brave Pokemon that fought against the weapon to go mad. Most curious.
The “RetroBalls” as my new teammates such as Goh and Gary Oak have coined them, appear to be native to Rakua, but were not the only PokeBall they made use of. In fact, RetroBalls seem to be rare in the society, perhaps they were the equivalent to Master Balls, the Black Rayquaza was found in a RetroBall when Goh opened it, supporting this theory.
Most PokeBalls used by Rakuians seem to be models that would later inspire the Hisuian and Apricorn models. In fact Rakua may have been the first to develop Apricorn based PokeBalls, I must look up Kurt and Johto, perhaps he’s a Rakuian descendant and could tell me more. It seems PokeBall technology was older than we expected, does that mean Professor Westwood coincidentally rediscovered this technology, or is he also descended from Rakuians.
My fellow Professors, even Professors Oak and Ivy claim I’m reading too much between the lines and I’m only hearing what I want to hear, (and maybe they’re right) but the potential this holds is remarkable. It still stings a bit my idol, Professor Oak, finds my claims on Rakua to be overblown and unfounded.
The Rakuians however just mysteriously disappeared with almost all records of them gone. How such an impressive people and Pokemon can go missing overnight I am unsure. A fossilized Zygarde Cell near a Rakuian outpost in Paldea does make me concerned the Rakuians did something to incite the wrath of the Order Pokemon; perhaps it foresaw the dangers of the crystal Rakuium?
So little of Rakua remains, that to many Professors, it’s seen only as a myth, but I remain positive I’ll find it truly did exist.
Recent study shows that perhaps survivors of the original Rakua civilization may still exist. They seemed to worship Pokemon related to space, as fossil evidence shows the likes of Solrock, Lunatone, Clefairy, Celesteela, and Minior to have been part of their regional PokeDex. Unown are also heavily associated with them and their written language, some stuff suggests Unown also worked as a password system, which leads me to believe the Ruins of Alph are perhaps a Rakuian outpost or made by descendants. In any event, a particular ritual they did revolves around Pokemon of the Sun, Moon and Stars, and information shared by Mx. Mewtwo says this was to bring a good harvest, trade and prosperity. This may also, according to them, be the key to unlock the hidden lost city of Rakua! Oh that true Rakuians still exist gives me such a thrill. I have so many questions to ask once we meet, heck, maybe I’ll get lucky and finally meet a nice girl or guy, him or her being Rakuian is a huge bonus.
How this particular arrangement of “When the Sun & Moon meet the Stars” works I’ve yet to crack, but young Liko, her cousins, and Roy seem to have part of the key in a Lunatone and Solrock found in a hidden, underground Rakuian outpost.
Hmm, troubling discovery. It seems Gary’s old friend, or is that “frenemy”, the Alolan Champion Ash Ketchum and his friends have uncovered one of the Treasures of Ruin. Some Rakuian texts I’ve uncovered have mentioned a cursed treasure, but I didn’t realize Rakua was connected to the Four Treasure Pokemon. Perhaps Zygarde was responding to them instead or in conjunction with the Rakuium? It seems the mysteries of this society keep adding up, and I adore it! Job security.
Still, Ash and his friends stumbled upon the tomb of Wo-Chein, a Pokemon associated with ancient wisdom in Rakuian and Paldean texts due to its wooden tablets. It appears in a skirmish with our foes, the Explorers, Ash’s foes, the ridiculous Team Rocket trio, accidentally awakened Wo-Chein, where it drained some of everyone’s energy before departing. It was observed the Rockets’ talking Meowth may have awakened Wo-Chein when touching one of the tablets. The Meowth species is considered one of the most intelligent Pokemon currently existing, so perhaps the Ruinous Pokemon responded to this Meowth’s intelligence. It would have to be very smart to learn to speak human despite appearances…!
The mysteries grow each day, but I remain confident with my new team, including Miss Liko Blue, who has an attention for history, may help uncover our planet’s greatest secret…!”
New entry by Agate:
“Professor Friede was a handsome eccentric, prone to flights of fancy, but he was rather close in his findings. Like him, I too had a stake in finding Rakua, I’m one of the few pure blood descendants of ancient Rakua, Andy family kept denying me access to my birth right, and so I fell in with the Explorers to have the resources necessary to achieve my goals.
The twerps following Friede did manage to crack the code before I was able to apply it myself, using Unown, Solrock, Lunatone and the mysterious Rakuian pendant, which we now know was a Pokemon previously thought to be extinct: Terapagos, to unlock the sealed gateway to the remains of Rakua. It seems the Stars in the idiom and the iconography used in Rakuium culture is a reference to Terapagos, though the concept of Terastilization was unknown to them surprisingly.
It seems the Four Treasures did briefly fight Zygarde during the fall of Old Rakua, they were crated from the negative emotions of my people and their Pokemon, manifesting as four beasts made from the most prized possessions of my people. These four Pokemon would be defeated and scatter, re-emerging In Gibeon’s time where his original Explorers and the Loyal Three Pokemon sealed them away in their respective tombs, until those idiotic Rocket grunts and my own over exuberance released them into the modern world.
The city, now New Rakua, was a shell of its former self as implied by the ruins, but still no less advanced. It turns out these descendants of the survivors were trying to hide themselves from Zygarde, the Order Pokemon, who had ravaged the original Rakuian Empire during to their use of the Crystal Rakuium.
While used as a clean energy source and had medicinal benefits that would put PokePharma to shame, it actually was harmful to the environment, absorbing the life force of plants in a strange decay and restoration cycle that was ruining life cells, rendering them inert. An unfortunate Bellsprout sadly disintegrated into powder due to lack of exposure to the element, this specimen was near immortal, having lived 200,000 years.
It turns out Rakuium came from a meteor that crashed into our planet during prehistoric times, containing the original Terapagos species, Rakuium and the power of Tera. Zygarde rightfully viewed this as an invasive species, and if left unchecked would’ve rendered our planet inert.
The Zygarde that my benefactor, Master Gibeon used, WAS the very same Zygarde that laid waste to Rakua. It knew the problem still existed and sought to finish the job. It partnered with Gibeon to do so, as he was a descendant of the Rakuian founding family sought his birthright to bring Rakuium to the modern world through his company.
Gibeon is over 200 years old, having been kept alive thanks to Rakuium restoring his cells following an accident during his days with Lucius (Liko Blue’s ancestor), Alisha (Ash Ketchum’s ancestor) and the original Explorer group. His daughter and grandson Amethio are direct descendants of Rakua as well, but a misunderstanding of how Rakuium works saw his daughter’s cells destabilize, and she sadly passed on young. I am concerned Amethio may meet a similar fate if this exposure isn’t reversed.
New Rakua would have been destroyed all over again if not for Liko Blue’s and her cousins rationalizing with Zygarde, to sus out the true problem: the Rakuium Generator powering the city.
It appears the pure power of Tera, specifically Stellar Tera, can safely neutralize Rakuium, as evidenced by the recovered Six Heroes, Eevee, Smeargle, Machoke, Sirfetch’d, and Crocolar have proven.
Thankfully for my people, it would turn out Tera is a much healthier sustainable energy, more powerful than Rakuium and their way of life is only temporarily inconvenienced by our visit.
Sadly my master and the twerp’s ancestor crumbled to dust due to the lack of intense Rakuium exposure, though the two lost friends found a sort of peace with each other before they passed.
A new problem as occurred some time after our visit to New Rakua, where new Rakuium deposits are starting to appear in regions like Kalos and Kanto, I hear Professor Oak’s laboratory was partially encased in it. This activity is unusual, almost as if the Rakuium itself is… I shudder to think… ALIVE…”

Three rangers you’d give an ace pokemon to and what would the backstory be behind them obtaining said mon(cause for me, Trent got a togepi egg but it hatched after his parents died, and absol appeared at their funeral😭☠️)
Three Rangers, ok um let's see...
Chip from Mystic Force, somebody give that boy a luxray immediately. As a shinx it absolutely ran up to him while he was wearing his cape somewhere and started chasing the cape around and followed him home and that's how they became best friends.
Devon from Beast Morphers got a pichu from an odd egg like the one in crystal and taught it how to play video games. He has a raichu now and it knows the nuclear codes don't test it.
just realizing i just gave two of these rangers electric types... oh well
Shelby from Dinocharge gets a tyrantrum because i don't care that it's a t-rex and her dinosaur isn't a t-rex, that girl deserves her own dinosaur friend and she would love and cherish it til the day she dies. She found a jaw fossil and revived it at a research facility, and she named the tyrunt Amber and they went on adventures together the end.
you're also so right about trent with togepi and absol, but also how dare you that's so sad ;-;

Excerpt from this story from Politico/E&E News:
CARPINTERIA, California — Two hulking platforms have sucked oil out of the ocean floor off this sunny local beach for nearly five decades.
The Hogan and Houchin platforms are now rusting monuments to California’s once-powerful fossil fuel industry. Abandoned by their last owner, they should have been torn down years ago.
But a series of companies tied to the platforms say it’s not their job — and now, they want the federal government to take on the multimillion-dollar responsibility.
The saga echoes the unfolding fight to clean up the nation’s deteriorating fossil fuel infrastructure. More than 2,700 offshore oil and gas wells and 500 platforms are overdue for decommissioning in the Gulf of Mexico alone, according to a recent report from the Government Accountability Office.
The Interior Department has long struggled to ensure oil companies pay up and clean up once they’ve stopped pumping oil, a challenge that could only increase as decades-old infrastructure off the nation’s coastlines faces retirement. If not maintained, old platforms and their wells can leak toxins and degrade ecosystems, becoming serious environmental hazards.
“The agency has recognized these problems for years,” said John Smith, who worked on decommissioning at Interior’s former Minerals Management Service (MMS). “When it comes to doing something about it, they’re weak-kneed.”
Interior could soon find itself on the hook for the millions of dollars required to safely remove the two California platforms. That’s because the companies that once owned a stake in Hogan and Houchin — ConocoPhillips, Occidental Petroleum and Devon Energy — are appealing an order to take the platforms down, testing a federal regulation that requires former owners to ensure cleanup.
The stakes are high for Interior. Experts say its rule may not withstand opposition if oil majors take it to court, with uncertain consequences for a potentially enormous backlog of oil and gas wells, platforms and pipelines that are past their prime and owned by midsize companies more likely to go into financial distress.
In a statement, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management said those beefed-up requirements would “ensure the taxpayer is protected from financial loss from offshore decommissioning liability.”
Environmental groups are already on board with President Joe Biden’s proposed rules. They look at Hogan and Houchin as a preamble to the kind of costs that could emerge during the gradual retirement of the nation’s oil program due to its climate impacts.

Team Aqua had an interest in Devon's fossil revival machines as a backup plan in case they couldn't preserve enough land Pokémon during their plan to wipe out Hoenn's biggest human settlements and turn the region into a sanctuary for Pokémon. They did manage to steal enough samples and blueprints to successfully reverse-engineer the process, and Ethan was one of the scientists behind that project. That's where he got his Armaldo from!
He would've gotten sued for copyright infringement on top of his other charges if the higher-ups at Devon weren't so impressed by his sheer talent. He was only in his mid-teens at the time, after all.

The abject narcissism of the insular Left is startling. They apparently believe the American public is amnesiac enough to forget what leftists once did, now that they're doing the utter opposite. And they assume we are to discount their hypocrisy and self-absorption simply because they self-identify as erudite and moral and assume their opponents are irredeemable and deplorable.
Impeachment
The Left is saturating the airwaves with outrage over the current House Republicans' impeachment inquiry. They allege that formally investigating Joe Biden's role in the family grifting operation is somehow a poor constitutional precedent, if not out-of-bounds entirely.
So we hear further arguments that it will be unwise to impeach a first-term president when he loses his House majority, that there is no reason to "waste" congressional time and effort when Biden will be automatically acquitted in the Democratically controlled Senate, and that the impeachment is cynically timed to synchronize with president's reelection efforts.
All of these are the precise arguments many of us cited when Donald Trump was impeached in December 2019 (as his reelection campaign began, and immediately after being cleared of the 22-month, $40-million-special-counsel Russian-collusion hoax).
The Democrats tried to remove an elected president over a phone call without a special counsel's report. So Trump was impeached only after the 2018 election led to a Democratic House majority, which went from eating up nearly two years of his administration in the Russian-collusion hoax straight into the impeachment farce. There was no concern about the cost to the nation of putting an elected government into a continual state of siege.
There is one difference, though, between the Trump impeachment and the Biden impeachment inquiry. Donald Trump was impeached because he accurately accused the members of the Ukrainian government of paying Hunter Biden, with his zero fossil fuel expertise, an astronomical sum to serve on the Burisma board -- as the costly quid that earned the lucrative quo from his dad Vice President Joe Biden.
No one now denies that Joe Biden got prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired by threatening to cancel legislatively-approved U.S. aid. Shokin knew about the skullduggery through which the Biden family eventually received $6.5 million from Ukraine -- and so Biden ensured his firing, and publicly bragged about it in performance-art fashion.
In sum, Trump had a perfect right as commander in chief to delay (he did not cancel) aid to Ukraine, to ensure that its government was not still paying off the Bidens for their lobbying efforts on its behalf.
It is also now clear that Biden serially lied about his ignorance of Hunter's shake-down operation. In fact, he was, as Devon Archer emphasized, "the brand" central to Hunter's scheme to coerce money from foreign governments. Joe was proverbially, in Hunter's words "the man sitting next to me" and thus able to either punish or reward foreign interests, depending on the size of the checks they wrote to his various fronting family members.
Offspring subpoenas
The left is now furious that Hunter has been subpoenaed by the House to testify in private about how he earned his multimillion-dollar income, whether he fully paid taxes on it, and to whom he distributed his winnings.
Hunter has refused to testify. He is now being held in contempt of the U.S. Congress -- to the silence of the usually self-righteous former senator Joe "pay your fair share" Biden.
We hear sanctimonious harangues that Joe is guilty of loving "his only son" Hunter too much, or that it is way out of bounds for a Department of Justice prosecutor to hound Joe Biden by going "after his family," or that Republican congressional subpoenas and contempt findings should be summarily ignored.
Ask Peter Navarro or Steve Bannon whether one can simply ignore a House subpoena. Ask Ivanka Trump whether she was, or was not, subpoenaed to appear before the January 6 committee. Ask the Trump sons whether they could breezily say "no" to Letitia James's subpoenas in her farcical real-estate-valuation suit against Trump.
Whistleblowers
Do we remember when, not long ago, whistleblowers were noble?
The alleged whistleblower Eric Ciaramella, an Obama holdover who had burrowed inside the Trump administration, had zero firsthand knowledge of the Trump phone call to Ukrainian president Zelensky. Ukrainian expatriate Lt. Col Alexander Vindman was on the call, as a member of the Trump national security team. He broke the law and apparently disclosed the classified call -- in outrage that Trump was apparently too hard on his native Ukraine -- to Ciaramella, and then hid the latter's identity. Both met privately with Rep. Adam Schiff (D -- CA) to engineer an impeachment writ.
This impeachment gambit was well-known to the media and the Democratic House. Both Vindman and Ciaramella were canonized as invaluable tools in wearing down Trump in a way that the failed Mueller prosecution had never done.
And whistleblowers now?
IRS Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley and 13-year Special IRS Agent Joe Ziegler never violated any statute or disclosed classified information. They did not leak a presidential phone call to a foreign leader.
Instead, both came forward as whistleblowers to testify before Congress about how the Biden Justice Department deliberately and carefully ensured that the mountain of evidence for the prosecution of Hunter Biden that they had presented had simply been ignored -- at least long enough for the statute of limitations to run out on his most egregious crimes.
When they both made their case that facts proved the Biden family received huge sums for selling access to or action from Joe Biden, they were roundly trashed by Democrats in Congress and pilloried as disgruntled politicos by a toady press.
Dictators
Never-Trumpers and leftists vie to predict the most nightmarish consequence of a 2024 Trump election win. Supposedly, he will commit every imaginable sin, from ending habeas corpus to jailing his enemies.
This fear-mongering has no basis in fact, especially given that the nation has already experienced a Trump administration for four years. And it saw none of the weaponization of the CIA, FBI, DOJ, and IRS that we have seen under the Biden and earlier Obama administrations. There was no concerted effort to destroy the 2020 Biden campaign in the manner of the 2016 Russian-collusion caper, no FBI suppression of evidence as we saw in the case of the Hunter laptop, no warping of a FISA court, no paying social media corporations FBI money to suppress news unfavorable to Trump. And so on.
The Burden of Familial Indictments?
Suddenly yet another new narrative emerges: Joe Biden is unduly preoccupied, bearing the enormous burden of Hunter's indictments. Apparently, we have never appreciated the supposedly unnecessary and cruel encumbrance on a president when his son is indicted.
So, we are told that a son's legal exposure is an unfair weight on a president.
Have we again forgotten the subpoenaed Trump children, much less the four weaponized indictments of Trump himself? Does anyone wish to compare the drug-addicted, prostitute-hiring, gun-losing, pornographic-photo-taking, shake-down grifting of Hunter with the conduct of the five Trump children?
What would Biden think if the next Republican Secretary of State had once tried to ruin him by rounding up "51 intelligence authorities" to blatantly lie that a Trump son's incriminating laptop was not his own, in order to affect the 2024 election -- all in the manner of the Antony Blinken 2020 ruse? Or imagine a future National Security advisor who had once tried, in Jake Sullivan's 2016 way, to concoct a malicious yarn that Hunter was engineering a computer ping correspondence from Biden headquarters to Moscow. Would those be burdens on Biden? Were they on Trump?
It may well be unwise to impeach a president in his first term when he loses his House majority. It may certainly set a bad precedent to subpoena the children of presidents. It may be regrettable that whistleblowers are either unduly demonized or sanctified. And it is of course wrong to smear a president as a veritable Hitlerian dictator.
But the left does not see such absolutes. Instead, once a supposedly morally-superior agenda is enunciated, then any means necessary are justified to obtain it.
And that alternate reality ensures that impeaching a president, indicting him, subpoenaing his kids, praising or libeling whistleblowers, or smearing a president as a dictator become good or bad things only by determining whether they prove useful to the progressive project.

What’s something (potentially reputation-ruining) that the public doesn’t know?
Oh, the amount of secrets I know about Devon. The idea for the fossil revival machine was technically stolen from the ones on Cinnabar Island, we just managed to get it out a little faster.
