BMW-owned brand goes leather-free to be more sustainable

The British Mini range of cars, belonging to the iconic German luxury vehicle brand, will only use synthetic leather alternatives in their interior upholstery in all future models for a more timeless design.

Speaking of the change, Head of Design Oliver Heilmer shared that @Mini will be able to redefine the concept of luxury and deliver high-end products by utilizing recycled materials. Moving forward, @BMW has declared that a vegan leather known as Sensatec will be integrated into all of its 5-Series cars. The company is also currently developing an electric SUV.
