Week 7. It was the most challenging week so far. Our objective is to prepare for the midterm's major and final activity, which is to create a pitch deck. Aside with the pitching preparation, it was also exam week, which led to the exhaustion. Because we need to research it, we had a sleepless night. We have no idea how to pitch, so it's a little difficult.
We began our preparation by reviewing the week 7 lecture, Pitching and Storytelling. That lecture taught us a lot. The concept, the plan, and so forth.
I was given the task of designing the ppt and revenue model. Because computing is so crucial, I started scratching. For me to have a basis, I conducted a lot of study. In addition, my team and I collaborate. Because we are not sure in our ability to present our work, we made several changes for that presentation.
Until the day of the presentation arrived. At the same time, we are both nervous and excited. It was the turning point in our willingness to give everything we had. The end result was satisfactory, but we will need to make numerous revisions. Based on the panelist's comment, I believe our effort was not extremely impressive. Thankfully, we overcame that challenge and are now ready to continue our journey.

Week 7 - KPop Dance
November 4th 2017
Here with me again! Updating you about last week meeting for KPop academy. Last week class was probably one of the most classes that everyone’s looking for. It’s a dance class (and it’s a KPop dance wohoo!). After 3 weeks of vote (I guess? I don't actually remember) Winner’s Really Really dance was chosen to be covered. I personally never listen to that song until I’m about to making my way to the class, it’s not going to be good if I don’t even know the song right? Though apparently I’ve heard of that song couple of times in Korean restaurant or any other places but never know the title LOL!
Anyways, the class was conducted with Tammy Jane, who’ve been covering so many kpop dances and joined competitions internationally as well (omg she’s awesome). I’m having a great time, sweating, learning new dance after I have to stop covering kpop dance a few years ago. My first impression of the song is, the dance is not going to be hard. Well it is, except of one part of it. And the craziest part of it was, the activity of the week is making our own group and covering the dance (and you’re allowed to add creativity etc). I don’t expect our group to be win to be honest (and I’m sure all my group mates are too as we saw the other two groups dance so great and it just make us feel small lol). But turns out that we win! I still don’t understand why but I’m so happy (thanks to everyone’s ideas about how to make the dance more creative).
It’s my first (and probably the only one) win during the week / homework since everyone’s are so good and dedicated while I’m getting more and more busy and cannot even update my diary and working on my homework on time anymore. So last week had the best experience because I won something haha
So yeah, that’s all for this week’s diary entry! Please look forward to my next week diary!

WEEK 7 - Cooking lesson
This week I was invited by the fellow graduates to attend a cooking workshop. The goal was to cook “Shakshuka” which is a traditional Israeli dish of eggs poached in a sauce of tomatoes, peppers, and onions. We also used some spices that they brought from Israel. I believe it was paprika and another middle-east type thing. The following is an image of the meal:
And a photo of myself cooking with the mamas (acting mothers who are responsible of guiding students):

SEVENTH WEEK
WEEK 7 - The Project
In the previous weeks we made the decision to host Moodle system in the in-house server of the village. We tested its performance in parallel with a Moodle site hosted on the cloud, and it was running good. However, last week the server crashed due to a failure of one of the RAID disks. The operating system could not boot again. Therefore, my co-worker and I had to come up with another option to host the system. I made some research in the past about share hosting and VPS (virtual private server) options and some providers offer licenses to put the system into operation in their servers. We rapidly scheduled a meeting with the management team to discuss pros and cons of the three options we had on the table:
Our recommendation at the end was to get a yearly package with a provider called Inmotion to host the site on a VPS and the management team agreed. Although the cloud version runs good, is limited in terms of the number of users (only 500 users) that could access it. We are now starting the whole installation process from scratch on a Linux server. Hope to get Moodle working this week to upload some content!
