Music blares from her little work shop, the blonde humming along as she works on a pair of shoes. Shadows air shoes to be more specific. Thankfully she made him a few pairs for when he busts them up like this. Nodding along to the beat of the song she soon looks up as she feels a certain presence in the room with her. Lifting up her goggles she smiles seeing a familiar face. “Shadow? You’re home early….” Her smile soon falters as she really gets a good look at hedgehog. Oh… oh. That’s not her shadow… is it?

“You uh… you’re not him are you” she says standing up head tilting. Shes met other versions of him before. Not really her first time dealing with this stuff but she can’t help but worry for her shadow.

“How can I help you?”

"Reflex check. I was checking his reflexes."

"You could have seriously hurt him!"

"He shouldn't have failed the reflex check."

“Harmony…” While the teen couldn’t see their old friend’s discomfort, Volt certainly could and got his daughter’s attention to put him back on his feet. It took a moment and ended with a flush of pink across her powder blue muzzle, but Harmony did as she was asked.

One hand went to the back of her neck, scratching it while offering an apologetic grin. “Sorry, Mr. Akai…”

“No time like the present t’ catch up though. Don’tcha think?” The older hybrid’s smile was genuine as he gave his friend a quick once-over. “Still lookin’ good, I see.”

"Sheesh, I did it again??" Shard suddenly complains. "I really need to get my facial recognition scanners updated for this Zone hopping stuff, I keep mistaking alternate Shadows for my boss."

"Alright, I'll make this quick. Name's Shard, Shard the Metal Sonic. I'm a repurposed robot working for the Alliance in my Zone to solve a problem two hundred years into the future that's supposed to save it. No luck so far, and being in the past sucks. Okay?" He doesn't wait for a response. "Okay."

He sits down and slumps across the counter, systems whirring in almost a sad sounding manner.

"I just thought you'd be able to give me advice since I figured you'd be the only guy out there who GETS it, you know?"

"Uh...am I under surveillance, sir?" Adam has concerns as to why the black hedgehog is monitoring him. Is it just curiosity for this specific zone or....well, Adam wasn't exactly your normal pink powerhouse.

'Borrowing' Sonics warp ring had been easy enough. Picking a new zone to visit had been harder, but she'd managed. Now, Tara cautiously steps into the club, looking around curiously. She'd never have the nerve to visit a club at home, but this isn't home. She can try to be a bit braver. After a moments hesitation, she heads over to perch at one end of the bar and looks around at both patrons and workers, just taking things in a bit.

The conversation had given him a lot to think about, too much to think about and he felt overwhelmed to a degree. Not that it took much to overwhelm him. His head always felt like there was buzzing and confusion, it never really stopped. This only seemed to make it worse... and reading his father's words had done nothing to help. Regardless, he went to the agreed meeting place - the burnt out remains of some iteration of Knothole Village.

It seemed someone else had come through here after they had left. The crumbling remains of the huts that had been there last he had seen were nothing but char and ash. The glistening pool that had once been there seemed to have been drained, nothing left but dirt and the unfortunate remains of any aquatic life rotting away.

A great deal of the trees had been cut down as well, leaving the once lush forest nothing but waste and cinders. He wondered how recent this had been - it felt like only yesterday he had battled with his father here...

A deep frown was on his lips as he surveyed the scene, not uttering a word as he waited for Shadow to arrive.

The blue hedgehog looked up at the club, the thoughts whirling through his mind like a spindash. ( If he remembers what that is. ) He is parched... He rubs his throat, knowing that he needed a drink. But he may not have any money. However, maybe the water is free? He steps in with some hope, and maybe more hope that someone knows him.

Pinot Noir, interesting name. He wonders if they ironically only sell Pinot Noir. That's one of the questions he's going to ask. He enters into the club, trying to find some place to settle before moving to the bar as that's a good spot than any. Locating the bartender, there's a flicker of recognition that comes and goes. “ Hey! ” He leans a little over to wave down Akai. “ Is the water... free here? ”

Now this was definitely new. Far, Far away from the base and the doctor’s voice, having gone on his own little mission to try and find something to do. The jackal had.. well. Just gotten over a.. lets not sugarcoat it. He’d just gotten over a breakdown. So the jackal was in a heavy mood. He needed something to do. He didnt care if it was killing the first mobian he came across, chasing wildlife— he needed something to do. He felt cold to the bone like ghosts were chasing him and he HATED IT. it made his fur and skin crawl across his body in a way that made him want to make the ruby turn his insides outside and leave him there for all to see. But the doctor would get mad at him for it.

So, stuck in his own mind, hes not entirely aware of where he is right now. Unaware of whos territory he might be intruding on. How menacing the short canid might look with a dagger in his hand. How his glowing sclera might be seen as a threat. He wasnt good at body language. Give him a break.

“ You sure about that? ” The stench says it all. His nose twitches a little as Sonic did another sniff. Yup. Booze. “ Whoa! I didn't exactly meant to offend. But you know what they say. The nose do not lie. Not this nose. But what my nose can't tell what it is. I happen to know it's just alcohol 'cos alcohol has that weird smell. ”

{➹} – FOR A MOMENT, the hedgehog thought he had made a mistake. That maybe, just maybe, he had traveled a little too much. Seen too many Zones, different alternates, to the point where they were blending together. He didn't doubt it would happen one day, he just hadn't expected it to be so early.

But his ears perked and eyes blinked when the other called him by name. Well, nickname, but he didn't introduce himself with it unless there was good reason to tell himself apart from others. It took him yet another moment before his brain seemed to kickstart itself and he chuckled.

"Akai, right?" Hopefully that little nagging voice in the back of his head wasn't wrong, memories coming back all at once as he quirked a brow in jest. "Assuming you still go by that and the joke's not run itself dry."
