Expansion Review - Shards of Infinity: Into the Horizon
Expansion Review - Shards of Infinity: Into the Horizon @StoneBladeEnt
I’ve playing a ton of the Shards of Infinity app and I finally played the card game last year at Dice Tower West. I liked it so much that I bought it during the pandemic lockdown for me and the wife to play. It really came into its own with the Relics of the Future expansion, though, fixing almost every problem I had with the base game. But when I saw there was another expansion coming, I had…

A quick late Saturday game of Shards of Infinity, with the new(ish) Relics of the Future expansion. Relics of the Future is inexpensive, and doesn’t add a lot - it gives each character his or her own little bit of flavor, and fans will like having it, but it seems inessential. Shards is obviously Stoneblade’s answer to the Realms games, and I think it’s clearly better (although I do like Hero Realms with its boss enemy decks). Like Realms (but unlike Ascension), Shards is clearly primarily a 2-player game; multiplayer rules are included but they’re not particularly tempting. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsSC0PdjmNq/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1wpcq33twma7

Expansion Review - Shards of Infinity: Relics of the Future
Expansion Review - Shards of Infinity: Relics of the Future @StoneBladeEnt @UltraProIntl
One of my new favourite deckbuilding games is the brilliant Shards of Infinity, a game I reviewed back in January. The game is published by Stoneblade Entertainment and Ultra-PRO and is Designed by Gary Arant and Justin Gary with artwork by Aaron Nakahara. One of my criticisms of the base game is that while each player is a character/faction, it makes no difference during the game. It’s all…

New to Me - May 2020
New to Me #boardgames - May 2020 @GameSalute @StoneBladeEnt

We’re back!
Pandemic notwithstanding, I managed to actually get a new to me game (and a new to me expansion) play in with the wife this last month.
I have some new games coming so hopefully this trend will continue into June as well.
It does feel good to finally be playing games again.
It felt wrong to suddenly not be playing games, like watching Betwitched and then suddenly having the second…
