Abschied nehmen

Am Freitag haben wir bei einer abenteuerlichen Shoppingtour (die Kühlflüssigkeit unseres Autos hat sich explosionsartig über die Windschutzscheibe verteilt) noch die letzten Souvenirs besorgt; zum Glück gibt es die Grenada Fan Kollektion auch mit langen Ärmeln, für kalte Tage in Europa.

Abends dann Galadinner: Skippys berühmter Fischburger und ein letztes Kartenspiel mit Misty.

Heute, Samstag: Koffer packen, Obstsalat und Frühstücksbier (ein Carib für Johanna) im Pool und ein letztes Fotoshooting am Strand beim "Aquarium".

Mittlerweile sitzen Johanna und Michi im Flugzeug Richtung Europa und freuen sich auf kältere Temperaturen. Wir Zwei- und Vierbeiner vermissen sie bereits.

Planung meiner Reise, Umzug, Manly- farry

Heute muss ich aus dem seltsamen Hostel auschecken. Die wollten nämlich 98 $ für eine weitere Nacht im Mehrbettzimmer... Also alles packen und zum nächsten Hostel ( das einzige mit einem freien Bett...😱. Dort renne ich direkt in Grace, die mir den Gepäckraum zeigt und mich fragt, ob ich meine Reise schon geplant habe.... "Nein ich bin noch etwas verloren..." Gebe ich ihr als Antwort... Sie schaut mich mit großen sorgenvollen Augen an und sagt: "Ok, keine Sorge, wir bekommen das hin" und sie legt los mit der Planung. Fraser Island, barrier rief, Airlie beach etc... Die meisten Termine sind ausgebucht. Also nochmal, und nochmal und fuck, jetzt passt, das mit dem anderen Termin nicht... Also nochmal... 2,5 h später sitzen wir mit der finalen Planung da und ich zahle 1,600 Euro für diverse Pakete... Und realisiere, dass die gute Frau mich gerade überzeugt hat einen Fallschirmsprung zu buchen... Whaaaat???

Ich werde aus dem Flugzeug springen? Bin ich crazy?

Nach dieser harten Arbeit, gibt es MC Donalds und eine Shoppingtour um mir eine Jacke zu kaufen, da es einfach Arsch kalt ist... Und neue Schuhe gibt es auch, da ich die anderen am ersten Tag Sydney fast durchgelaufen habe. (Warum dachte ich, es sei eine gute Idee nur Wanderschuhe, die nicht passen und Schlupfschuhe mitzunehmen?)

Danach nehme ich die Manly farry und genieße den Strand (eingepackt in meiner Winterjacke) der Sonnenuntergang auf der Fähre ist echt schön.

Schnell im noch komischeren Hostel einchecken und Wäsche machen, bevor es schlafen geht.

Párkány, perhaps the most boring Hungarian city in Slovakia, is surprisingly steeped in history and cultural connections. Particularly since the reconstruction of the Mária Valéria Bridge in 2001 and Hungary’s accession to the Schengen Agreement in 2007, the city has become closely tied to Hungary. The reopening of the bridge marked a significant economic shift, halving the region's unemployment rate, which had previously stood at a staggering 24%. In the 2020s, Párkány has seen a surge in shopping tourism. Bilingualism is prominent here, with street signs in both languages and Hungarian being the primary language in daily life.

The city’s name has an intriguing etymology, possibly linked to the Turkish word "parkan" and even the Persian-derived term "barbakán." In 1948, the Czechoslovak government renamed it Štúrovo after the Slovak national movement leader Ľudovít Štúr, who never actually visited the city. This renaming was part of a broader trend where Slovak names were given to predominantly Hungarian-inhabited towns, sparking ongoing tensions between the Hungarian majority and the Slovak minority.

One of the notable fairs is the Simon-Juda Fair in Párkány. In recent decades, the famous autumn fair in Párkány has once again become popular, attracting many visitors from Hungary, not just from Esztergom but also from more distant regions. Heute 26km über das Ijsselmeer bei kabbeliger See, dann ist Lemmer erreicht. Sonntagabend wollen wir in Sneek sein, um das Boot für die Übergabe am Montag fertig zu machen. Von Lemmer sind es nur 35 km bis Sneek, so dass wir uns richtig Zeit lassen können, endlich. Drei Wochen wird die Sonnentag voraussichtlich bei der Brandsma Werft bleiben. Am Montag, 5. August, wollen wir es dann für die letzte Etappe nach Bremen abholen. Die gesamte Sommerreise 2024 (reine Fahrzeit) hat dann knapp acht Wochen gedauert, neuer Rekord.

Gestern Sommer, heute Herbst. Es schüttet wie aus Kübeln. Erstmals auf der Reise trauen wir uns nicht aus dem Boot und verschieben die geplante Shoppingtour durch Lemmer Stunde um Stunde. Bei 14 Grad Außentemperatur machen wir es uns mit der Heizung so gemütlich, dass die Bordkatze gleich wieder eingeschnurrt ist.

Trotz Regen eine schöne Fahrt durch Lemmer. Vier Brücken mussten für uns angehoben werden bis zum Yachthafen, der angesichts seiner Enge eine einzige Katastrophe ist.
