Interviewed by Capital Breakfast's hosts Roman Kempt, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby for Capital FM (24 July 2023)

CHRIS: Is it right that you have all [your daughter's] names tattooed on you as well?

MATT: Yeah, yeah.

CHRIS: That's so lovely! I love that you get everyone that's important to you tattooed on your arm. You got your wife's name as well?

MATT: I did. It actually started—I think I got my first tattoo when I was like 42 years old—and we were just sitting there in New York and my wife goes, "We're getting tattoos." It was just out of nowhere. And I was like, "OK." And we always had this deal that if we got tattoos we'd do it with the guy who did most of Heath Ledger's tattoos. He's a friend of ours. So we called him up and he just kind of skate-boarded over on a Sunday morning. And I didn't even know what I was gonna get tattooed, so I got her name. And then I looked at Heath's arm—he had a [picture] on his laptop—and just grabbed a tattoo that Heath had on his arm and just put that on. And so those were my two tattoos for a while. And then I was like, "I gotta add the kids." And so I added the kids.

CHRIS: What did your wife get?

MATT: She got my name and also the same symbol that Heath had. We both have it, she was friends with him.

CHRIS: I guess the question fans will want to know is when are you going to get the Ben tattoo?

MATT: [Laughs] What, the giant phoenix? Or the—

ROMAN: When are you going to get Ben's name just tattooed on you? Has he asked at all?

MATT: He hasn't. I'd do it! He's my best friend for my entire life, I'd get his tattoo on my arm. I wouldn't care.
