I love whenever people find scientific reasoning and info from the dumbest and most fictional fandoms.

Even if this would be considered not scientific I love the insight on talking cookies' eating habits.

Spoilers for the Legendary Red Dragon update and like. All of the updates involving the dragon's will be mentioned in some capacity here lmao

Okay so something that's crossed my mind a LOT is that the dragon's (and Wyverns) are probably frugivores, or frugivore leaning at least. Especially since most, if not all of the stuff we've seen them eat, or get offered by cookie's up until this point in CRK and CROB is fruit! We know that it isn't cannibalism in the CRK/CROB universes, as we've seen cookie's and dragon's eat there own ingredients—like Cocoa Cookie with hot cocoa or Ananas Dragon Cookie with pineapples.

Cannibalism seems to be frowned upon to dragon's, or at least just uncomfortable for them based on Pitayas reaction to the Dragonhead Stew, which shows there sentience and psychological intelligence. I think it'd also make sense for them to be frugivores based on where Longhan, Ananas, Lychee & Lotus live, (mainly sunny area's with lot's of fruit and vegetation, as well as open fresh/saltwater source's, making a great place for fruit to grow freely).

But for Pitaya it's a little more nuanced, mainly because of the conditions Pitaya lives in, which isn't very good to grow fruit at all. The Dragon's Valley is also shown to not have much vegetation, if any at all due to it's hot conditions—though plants are present, there scarce and usually the same species, most likely being near cooler places for water consumption.

But we've seen Pitaya eat berries (and get poisoned from them) near the Hollyberry Kingdom during the Special Episode with them, and other Dragon's taking opportunity of the chaos with the Legendary Red Dragon. Which means that Pitaya and other Dragon's/Wyverns are probably scavengers and opportunistic eater's! So they'll eat whatever's available and in there diet, whenever. Similar to some species of snake's and lizard's, which are usually also scavenger's or predators in there own right.

Dragon's could also be omnivores, seeing as Pitaya eats (and enjoys) a meat stew in the Special Episode of the Legendary Red Dragon! I do think that fruit is probably a huge portion of Dragon and Wyvern diet's, since most of the places Dragon's seem to live in have great amounts of fruit or vegetation present. I think it could also be like the phenomenon of how deer and cow's sometimes eat bones, snakes or other small animals if there lacking vitamins/nutrients in there diet despite being herbivores.

And given Pitayas power situation at the time, they we're probably EXTREMELY hungry since they we're like withering away slowly the entire adventure. They even said themselves they have no idea why their Cookie form is this hungry, which also implies that Dragon's could be intermittent eater's, so they don't eat everyday, which makes sense given that Dragon's are based on lizard's and reptiles in folklore involving them.

Pancakes vs. Waffles

The debate over pancakes and waffles has now sparked a hypothesis. The more people we ask, the more we have discovered. Now we are hypothesizing this;

There can be a pancake/waffle couple and waffle/waffle couple, but no pancake/pancake couple. The reason? Those who prefer waffles are more structured in their lives, while pancake lovers are a bit more freeform. So, you can have structure/freeform and structure/structure, but you cannot have freeform/freeform.

I have loved this series since I first saw it in the early nineties. Created by Robert Popper and Peter Serafinowicz , ‘Look Around You’ really highlights the underlying sinister ambience that lies in children's education and any information that is trying to be put across clearly or without emotion. What this seems to do is deplete the images, characters, places etc of real humanity therefor appearing robotic and almost zombie like. For some reason the wedding ring on the actors hand really freaked me out.

The colours, pale blue, rust red, browns and beige viscerally take me back to science labs at school and laughing at the silly hair of the actors in the dated science education videos.

Science Crush Friday - An NFL Player? Really?

Yes, really!

I’ve come back from blog hibernation (really from six of the busiest months I’ve ever had) to bring a Science Crush that, to me, has come out of left field, which is a terrible metaphor because he’s a professional football player, not a baseball pro. The man of science that I’m celebrating today is Baltimore Raven’s player John Urschel. It’s he dreamy?

Yes...Mr. Urschel is a footballer, but he is also a more-than-casual mathematician. While at Penn State he majored in math and minored in statistics. His work was recently published in the Journal of Computational Mathematics (but you can view it here on arViv). And just in case you don’t think that’s sciencey enough (it is pretty advanced math stuff there), he has also dabbled in the mathematical side of astrophysics and planetary dynamics.

But wait...there’s more...

However, before I continue, let’s see an action shot. I chose one from training because you get to see more muscles that way.

Ok...onto extolling more of John’s scientific (well mathematic) virtues.

You see...he doesn’t just have a Bachelors in math. Nope. He soldiered on and got a Masters degree in mathematics, one year after finishing off his undergrad degree. And...he’s in the middle of getting another Masters in math education. AND...he plans on getting a PhD on the topic once he feels he is done with professional football.

Oh...and he also has started a program to provide scholarships to Baltimore area students interested in math. I bet he hand rears orphaned kittens in his spare time, too.

So...for his accomplishments in math, on the gridiron, and his dedication to mathematically outreach and education, John Urschel is one awesome Science Crush!
