Old Abbey Cemetery Part 3 - The Abbey, Grand Crypt and Summary
The Abbey
If you take an immediate left at the New Plots Crossroad you’ll be met by a sharp denial and a locked gate. Beyond this point is the realm of the Groundskeeper who maintains and digs the graves. Please do not enter the area without express permission as the Groundskeeper has a habit of leaving rakes lying around and D’Eath & Sons are not liable for any broken bones.
The namesake and most striking feature of the Cemetery is the ruins of the once thriving Abbey which is sits atop a sloping hill now a stark silhouette against the moonlit sky. Tourists flock from all over to admire the window into the past with guided Ghost Tours offered by the D’Eath Local Tourist Initiative. With so much history, and even the original boneyard available to enjoy, it is the perfect day out for all the macabre lovers out there.
Grand Crypt
Dynasties rise and fall, but every dynasty needs a Grand Crypt, a familial tomb, a statement to the world of your power. The answer to this desire, and soon your family, rests in the stunning and customisable Crypt at the end of Monuments Row.
Enter your dream place of rest with space for three generations in the main chamber, numerous columns for your urns and even a place of pride for your Legacy Founder, never to be forgotten. The antechamber is left deliberately bare so that the achievements of your Legacy can be displayed for all to see, forever!* (*Warning, failure to pay upkeep may lead to possession by an evil spirit in which case we will have to repossess the Crypt.)
Stats and Additional Info
Lot Value: §328,763
The Lot was designed to replace the central residence in Henford-on-Begley and takes into account the surrounding area, however this can be placed on any 64x64 and should fit in okay assuming the environment is green. I wanted to make a Cemetery with an obscene number of graves to accommodate a truly long Legacy challenge. Enough to actually house not only my families, but the townies as well. I designed the lot to have its own attitude and visual storytelling and with the expectation that it would be edited if used. So don’t be afraid to get into build mode and replace the graves with your own, that’s what they’re there for. Almost everything is a placeholder. The three crypts are inaccessible without removing the bars and are intended to be removed once you’ve claimed the crypt. Green space was left in certain sections to allow for expansion of existing sections if it becomes a bit too full for you.
Many packs were used in the making of this lot, however the majority was taken from Life & Death and other major expansions. Most of the kit, game pack etc inclusions are decorative and if you do not have all the packs, it is likely it will not cause major disruption, or something you could not simply delete or replace.

🌑 Legacy Graveyard – Honoring My Sims 🌑
Hi, Simmers! 🖤 As part of my journey to reach 100 generations, I wanted a special way to honor all the Sims who’ve been part of my legacy. I found the perfect base game graveyard on the Gallery, created by the talented Goodlilmousey, and turned it into a resting place for every Sim I’ve lost along the way. 🪦✨
I’ve placed all my Sims’ tombstones here, from my founder to the most recent generations. The lot originally had some debug tombstones, but I carefully replaced them with my own Sims' graves, making it feel even more personal. Now, walking through the graveyard brings back so many memories of their stories, triumphs, and even a bit of chaos. Some of the ghost colors make the whole place feel extra magical (and a little spooky 👻).
Swipe through for some photos! 📸 Do you keep a graveyard for your legacy families, or have other ways to remember your Sims? I’d love to hear how you honor your past generations! 🖤

Old Abbey Cemetery Part 2 - Marble & Harmonious Quarters
Marble Quarter
Once the most fashionable place to be buried, the Marble Quarter is home to an eclectic mix of shining white marble, seemingly ancient crypts and even a source of eternal darkness, or so they say. Walking straight on from the New Plots you get a view up Monuments Row, a true display of what happens when people take the phrase, “You can’t take it with you,” as a challenge. First on your left is the Temple of Wind where the remains of your beloved can be stored if they were cremated; each urn receives its own viewing box and portrait. Further up Monuments Row is the Tomb of the Unknown Horse, representing all the good stallions and mares who made Henford-on-Begley what it is today.
As you leave Monuments Row and enter the main section of the Marble Quarter you meet several smaller, intimate sites where families can rest together without the worry of too many neighbours. And if the concern of your family being bothered by the dreaded welcome party even in the afterlife is too much then invest now in one of three marble family crypts. With space for three blessed dynasts and columns to keep safe the urns of the others, you can rest assured that your family is safe and secure.
Other prominent features of the Marble Quarter are its Plinth of Remembrance for all the Sims who died serving SimNation, beautiful floral displays where Sims can sit and reflect and even a gravesite for those Sims who deem themselves ‘too cool’ for white marble and green grass. Though if you do choose to rest in the Straud Contingency Graveyard please be respectful of other residents when bursting dramatically out of your graves at midnight, not every supernatural being likes to be woken from their naps!
Harmonious Quarter
The smallest and newest section of the Cemetery houses two very different places of rest. Accessed either by going left at the New Plots Crossroad, or through the end of Monuments Row, the first sight is the Harmonious Garden which houses the tombs of Sims who travelled to Henford from far shores and their descendants. As the community became bigger over the generations it became
Alongside the Harmonious Garden is a very new age concept for laying your loved ones to rest, turning them into a tree! Did your Sim live and breath nature? Did they truly want to be one with the universe? Well for a meagre crippling fee, your loved one can be repurposed* and planted for generations to come to find shade under. (*Plaque not included.) One of the few remaining natural features of the area from the era of the Abbey is the fish pond where one can find a place to sit and contemplate, and listen to the water rippling.
Part 2 End.

Old Abbey Cemetery Part 1 - Overview & New Plots
Overview
Nestled in the rural bliss of Henford-on-Bagley is a cemetery which has seen the eras of Similization come and go. In its first life it was the site of an Abbey where Monks would make fine wines in the seclusion of the countryside. As time marched on its small boneyard expanded and became the central cemetery for the entire community.
The Cemetery is split into four sections: The New Plots, the Marble Quarter, the Abbey and the Harmonious Quarter.
The New Plots
One of the newest parts of the Cemetery, it is the most often visited as it houses the most modern gravesites and sees the majority of new burials. As you enter the gates you are met with the custodians of the property, and the custodians of the dead, D’Eath & Sons funeral directors and crematorium.
The parlour has facilities to suit the needs of any family saying au revoir to their loved ones, or good riddance to their enemies, at D’Eath they don’t judge, but they do charge extra for drama. With a ceremony room, viewing room and bathroom access included the extortionate price of the casket will zoom right by! We swear!
For those interested in a career with the firm, Mr. D’Eath is always looking for eager graduates to train in the ancient art of the undertaker. Though, please ask permission before visiting their state of the art crematorium, some things you can’t unsee!
The New Plots are the definition of peaceful rest; surrounded by the greenery, potentially fun neighbours and it even houses a special memorial garden where your pets can rest right beside you. Remember though, plots are going fast, so be sure to snap yours up today! As you exit the New Plots you meet a crossroads. Left to the Abbey, Right to the Marble Quarter and straight ahead to Monuments Row.
Part 1 End
