Das war’s jetzt. Punkt. Fragezeichen?
jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery(".smooth_slider_fouc .smooth_slider").show(); });jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery("#smooth_slider_16").smooth({ fx: "scrollHorz", speed:"2000", timeout: 70000,next: "#smooth_slider_16_next", prev:"#smooth_slider_16_prev",pager: "#smooth_slider_16_nav", pagerAnchorBuilder: function(idx, slide) { return '<a class="sldr'+(idx+1)+' smooth_slider_nnav" href="#">'+(idx+1)+''; },pause: 1 ,slideExpr: "div.smooth_slideri" }); jQuery("#smooth_slider_16").touchwipe({ wipeLeft: function() { jQuery("#smooth_slider_16").smooth("next"); }, wipeRight: function() { jQuery("#smooth_slider_16").smooth("prev"); }, preventDefaultEvents: false });jQuery("#smooth_slider_16").smoothSlider({ sliderWidth :550, sliderHeight :350, navArr :1, img_align :"left" });});

The pudding is in the eating
Wenn man denn will. Aber genau so kann man zum Teil des synodalen Prozesses werden.

The Google I/O 2018 conference continues today in Mountain View, California at Shoreline, and we have loads more to tell you about. One of the biggest announcements out of this year’s conference is the new Google News. The app being made available on both the Android and iOS mobile platforms integrates AI to make recommendations and provide content suggestions regarding topics of interest to you. The refreshed app seems to be rolling out now and will continue slowly over the next week.
[smoothslider id=’8′]
With Google News, the search giant is going all-in. No more is the somewhat outdated Google Play Newsstand, and here to stay is a major refresh of the service for modern-day with AI at its core. Google News is simple to remember, and no longer attached the ‘Play’ branding indicating the cross-platform movement and user-friendly focus. It is rolling out in the form of an update on Android and across other platforms, though it’s very much a brand new service. Like many other apps that are launching or being updated this week, AI and deep learning will play a big part of the new Google News. Google is taking an AI-first approach to almost everything, and more than ever before we can see how it’s paving the way for the future of software and beyond.
With Google News, Google is taking a strong stance to deliver credible and attractive news to your smartphone via the app. This is in a way similar to other popular news services today, but combines everything into one and really caters to its user. The app will get to know you with time and use, so much so it’s almost scary to see. But this is all done to provide what Google believes is the most modern and promising way to deliver fresh news to mobile and desktop users. We had an idea this might be coming prior to the Google I/O, but now it has been uncovered in full detail and is one of the few products actually rolling out for users to use now. Google says that 127 countries will have support for Google News by the end of next week with a variety of devices having access, which is beyond a vast and speedy roll out.
As you can imagine, Google News sorts through and organizes incredible amounts of information in real-time. This is done using machine learning to deliver the best experience possible no matter which device you’re on. It finds important, popular and new news stories “for you” and makes content easy to discover and share if you want to. Other than a major design overhaul starting with the icon, the app comes with some new features. Up front there’s a new briefing homepage with articles more catered for you. No set up process is required and Google uses what it already knows about you from other apps through your Google account so it can provide content suggests out of the box. You can then tell the app to “see more” or “see less” depending on what you see and ‘Newscasts’ will allow you to preview content before diving into the topic in more depth and having to scroll through a bunch of headlines.
The new design is one Google calls ‘Material Theme’ and is really a fancier term for saying updated material design, which is coming to many Google apps. Animations are fluent, the app is organized and clean with high contrast to make for the best reading experience on your eyes. It’s also very fast and polished in every which way unlike the old Google Play Newsstand. You can tell Google put in a lot of time to get it right this time and was preparing this for longer than we knew about it. This was confirmed in the demos and with the widespread roll out at launch that had to be planned for some time considering all the languages and differences around the world.
Like the upgraded Google Assistant, Google news provides Full Coverage to take advantage of all screen space you have by providing edge-to-edge content and high-quality images. All it takes is a tap on a story to get into all its detail, so you’ll never have to look beyond the app, and the style is consistent throughout most of the user interface. Google says it even understands the smallest ingrained details about each story such as the who, what, why and how to group similar stories based on determined subject and provide related content. Google is also bringing back the Newsstand section for users to not only follow publications like Droid Turf, but also subscribe to them. ‘Subscribe with Google’ will be arriving in the coming weeks and will sync all your devices and even provide snippets of related information bits from the app in your personal Google Search, with deep links.
Does Google have all the competition beat with Google News? We think so, but it’s ultimately up to you to decide. Give the app a try once available and let us know your experiences in the comments. Hopefully Google brings this to market the right way and sees a successful launch.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has been unveiled in New York City and via livestream at Unpacked 17, and the successor to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 that some believed would never arrive on the market has dawned.
After reporting on the arrival of the phone itself, we know that many of you might be interested in getting your hands on accessories for the Galaxy Note 8. Depending on the customer, these accessories can help get the most from the new Samsung smartphone and introduce new capabilities to the market. If you are considering the upgrade, one or more of these accessories may interest you or could even sway you to buy the new Galaxy model. Let’s dive in!
DeX Station
The DeX Station first debuted with Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, allowing customers to place their phone on the device and extend their phone screen to a larger monitor by way of an ethernet cable. “DeX” is short for “Desktop Experience,” and the goal is to extend the functionality of what you can do on your smartphone while charging on the DeX Station. Those looking to be more productive should give the DeX Station a try.
#gallery-0-4 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-4 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-4 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
The DeX Station returns with the Galaxy Note 8, letting you extend your phone to a full desktop monitor or TV for whatever reason you may need. DeX now allows you to continue conference calls without interruption, and Samsung today added a bevy of new partners.
Phone Accessories
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8, as is true for all phones, needs a protective case, and Samsung will have your new productivity device performing well and looking great.
First, there are two new clear covers for the Galaxy Note 8: a Clear View Cover and a Clear View Standing Cover. As the names suggest, these cases are designed to show off the design of your brand new Galaxy Note 8. The new device has a bezel-less look and a dual-edge display that you’ll want to show off to your relatives and friends.
The Clear View Standing Cover takes the Clear Cover look a step further: whereas the Clear View Cover shows off your phone only, the Clear View Standing Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 allows you to stand your Galaxy Note 8 up and watch TV shows, movies, and YouTube videos.
Fast Wireless Charger Convertible
The fast wireless charger convertible is another special accessory for Samsung Galaxy users, as it allows device owners to charge their handset without plugging it directly into the wall, even at a fast rate. The wireless charger convertible can extend itself to a stand if you need it, or stay as a flat-lying charging pad if you desire. You can switch between the two modes, something that isn’t possible with the Korean giant’s earlier charging pads. The new wireless charger convertible comes in Black and Gold colors, which blend well with some of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 color options.
256GB MicroSD card
Another accessory in Samsung’s lineup is a 256GB microSD card. Samsung manufactures its own microSD cards in the same way that it makes its own SSDs, wireless charging pads, cases, and battery power banks. The microSD card can store all different kinds of data including even VR games so that those interested in Gear VR with Controller don’t have to worry about a storage shortage.
Battery Pack (5,100mAh)
Power banks, or battery packs, are known for extending battery life, and Samsung is back with another accessory of this kind made for the Galaxy Note 8. The new 5,100mAh power bank for the Galaxy Note 8 bears the model number EB-PG950 and gives you extra juice for on the go. You can choose between Blue and White colors.
Keyboard Cover
The Keyboard Cover first debuted on the Galaxy Note 5, so it’s understandable that Samsung would continue with this accessory. If you’re looking for a physical keyboard on which to type emails and texts but want to be able to remove the keyboard at times, Samsung’s Keyboard Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is what you need.
The Galaxy Note 8 Keyboard Cover serves two purposes: first, it’s a physical keyboard when you want to type out an email and feel the keys beneath your fingers as if you’re typing at a stationary desktop PC. Next, it serves as a cover, protecting your phone from damage. The Keyboard Cover doesn’t get in the way: when you’re done with the keyboard, put the cover on the back of your phone and go back to adoring the Infinity Super AMOLED display once more.
LED View Cover
The LED View Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is designed to give you access to the display without having to even open the case to do it. The LED View Cover projects the time in such a way that the case highlights the time rather than hides it; you won’t have to open the case to know what the time is throughout your day. The LED View Cover lets you swipe to dismiss or answer calls, access notifications, and so on, so you can keep your phone protected and make the most of its functionality too. Three colors are available: Black, Blue, and Purple.
Clear View Standing Cover
The Clear View Standing Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 allows you to place your display in landscape mode and stand it up on a flat surface such as a table, desktop or counter-top. It comes in three colors.
Alcantara Cover
The Galaxy Note 8 is a sleek and smooth device already, but some buyers are strong believers in protection and don’t want to lose that sleek feeling with a case. The Alcantara Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is designed for those who want more of a suede feel to their device as well as a case to protect their new “precious beauty.” The Galaxy Note 8 Alcantara Cover, in addition to its suede feel, is also stain-resistant, durable, scratch proof, and hand-washable with soap and water. There are 4 colors to choose from: Black, Pink, Green, and Gray.
Protective Standing Cover
The Protective Standing Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is one of Samsung’s newest additions. The new cover is military-grade in its constitution, meaning that it can withstand bumps, drops and impacts of all kinds. The device is not only protective but also a standing cover, with a kickstand on the back of the case that props up your Galaxy Note 8 when you want to watch multimedia content. The kickstand is detachable from the Protective Standing Cover so that it won’t break if too much pressure is applied to it. The Protective Standing Cover comes in two colors: Black and Blue.
Protective Cover
The Protective Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is more of a Clear View case that lets the design of the device shine while still providing protection for your device. The case is only 0.95mm thick and comes in 4 colors: Black, Blue, Lavender (Light Purple), and Gold.
2Piece Cover
The 2Piece Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 gives you two small pieces to cover the top and bottom portions of your new device. The 2Piece Cover, announced earlier this year for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, feature suction pads with different colors that could be mixed and matched, but Samsung has reigned in its color choices by eliminating the bright greens and pinks to stick with sleek colors such as Black, Blue, and Purple.
The 2Piece Cover protects the most vulnerable parts of the Galaxy Note 8, especially the dual rear cameras that have now graced the Galaxy Note for the first time, along with the bottom portions of the device including the USB Type-C port and speaker. You still have access to your device’s ports and all because the remainder of the Galaxy Note 8 is “naked,” but at least there’s some protection where it counts.
Samsung has a large number of accessories for Galaxy Note 8; there really is something for everyone. Every Galaxy Note 8 will ship with AKG jack earphones ($99 value) and customers can add a new case, the DeX Station for enhanced productivity, new Gear 360, or the 2017 Gear VR headset and controller, to suit their tastes and needs. These accessories are designed to add style and functionality to what is already one of the most functional smartphones on the market. Galaxy Note 8 buyers can also pick up an additional S Pen if the first gets lost. Samsung describes the pen as the new “intelligent” stylus that comes with more pressure points and greater sensitivity so that it feels more like an everyday pencil or pen. The intelligent S Pen can now translate full sentences into native languages and convert currency right before your eyes on the screen.
Feel free to let us know in the comments which, if any of the accessories will you be picking up, and check out some of our other Samsung Unpacked 17 coverage in the slider below.
