Skylar does harness a lot of religious guilt from his mother’s side of the family. His maternal grandfather is a very influential priest in their hometown of Boston, and would remind Skylar that they were a child of evil due to their vampire nature from their father’s side. While they in no way think that their father, Oliver, is a monster, but their maternal family have pretty much beated it into their head that they’re are irredeemable, and can only find holiness in death.

I made the joke before, but honestly Skylar does so little to make themselves happy and goes... above and beyond to make the people they care about happy, even if it’s at their own expense. They’ll protect people they care for with everything they have, until their body can’t move.

In contrast, it’s honestly kinda sad how little they do to make themselves happy. Remember, the only reason they got a proper bed was because Tom wouldn’t have a proper place to sleep when he moves in with them. They just had a canopy bed by their window, that was barely used to their lack of proper sleep.

Skylar feels they don’t need much to make themselves happy, mostly because they don’t really feel like they deserve to be happy. They already have an extremely low sense of self-worth, and firmly believes he’s only useful when he’s being used for the service of those he cares for. What they want doesn’t matter as long as their friends and family are all cared for, and the innocent are protected.

Surprisingly enough, there are two members of Skylar’s maternal family that they actually get along with. Pearl and Dino Critelli are Skylar’s Uncle and Aunt. Pearl being their mother’s sister and Dino married into the family. Dino is a highly successful nurse and apothecary, while Pearl is an artist and mathematician. The duo were the closest things Skylar had to parents after Oliver disappeared, even going so far as to move to Clayburrow from Boston just to watch out for Skylar. After Skylar joined The Seekers, So did Pearl and Dino. Pearl focuses more on research, while Dino is a doctor. Oh. One more thing? Pearl & Dino are a t4t & bi4bi couple.

Skylar’s preferred method of combat is usually centered around close ranged combat with his hidden pen knives, or throwing his tarot cards in ranged combat. The aim they have is very good. They’re proficient with a variety of lightweight swords, knives, and daggers. They don’t really know how to use a gun though, only having a small pistol in their bag just in case of an emergency. Most of their combat training, they got from their father. They do train with Salenna & Daisy on the weekends to keep themselves sharp.

I made this joke in an earlier OC post, but Skylar dead ass didn’t have a legit bed until after they got with their partner Tom. The most they had was a small canopy bed by the window. They have a hectic sleep schedule so they didn’t really see a proper bed as a priority.

Sky’s an extremely good poker player, and has a reputation of surprising people on the poker table. His father's current occupation is as a professional poker player, and he taught Sky how to play.

“What happened that day was an accident. You were a kid. We all do stupid shit as a kid. The guilt you carry should be punishment enough...”

They loved this time of night. Less creeps, more quiet, and they had more time to just reflect on their past. However, that seems to all they’re doing between solving supernatural cases, their waiting job, and serving their hermitage. The future was barely even a footnote in their mind and even then... they didn’t really know what they want later in life... They had... most of what they want and things they don’t have, do they really deserve it? As they finish reapplying what little makeup they did wear, they stared back at their reflection with an empty gaze. They were in a better place now. They had all they needed. They shouldn’t long for something more... so why was the desire still there? With a heavy sigh, they put their cosmetics into their clutch and shove said clutch into their dress pocket. They exit the bathroom, and the bar they were in and venture into the foggy, cool city streets. As they wander, pondering whether to just head home or go to the park, they couldn’t help but admire how the city lights reflect off of the tiny rain puddles. Their fan close to their face, they flutter it lightly also thinking about how easily amused they are by the small beauties in life such as these.
