what are your thoughts on chris hackney as a voice actor?

… Positive.

You have no idea how many emotions Dimitri’s character has given me, both in 3Houses and 3Hopes (though Houses has the superior character arc). And absolutely none of it would have been possible without Chris.

Although looking up his credits and seeing he plays a specific character in To Your Eternity, my very physical reaction was “Oh gosh, he plays THAT piece of shit?!” Which I know has nothing to do with Chris and it’s just fiction, I just thought it was funny XD

SO, Chris Hackney is Dimitri, Boey, and Quan.

I really don’t need to go super in-depth over performance, we all know Chris absolutely kills it. We have both dark Dimitri and reborn Dimitri (AKA Legendary Dimitri), who both have very different emotional inflections. But also, his performance as Boey is great too! Boey’s a very funny balance of intelligent yet easily frightened, and his lines bounce off Cherami’s lines as Mae really well. I’m not really completely familiar with Quan but I’d say from the sound of it, he does his job.

There’s not a single doubt that Chris was well-casted to play as these characters. This is absolutely bias but out of all three of the House Leader actors, Chris’s performance was the most emotionally rich. No hate on Joe Zieja or Tara Platt, though.

Yes, Chris has the range, and between Dimitri’s deep voice and Boey’s higher tones, he has great range.

Chris is a 9/10, undoubtedly. Though… that being said, let’s ease up on the Dimitri alts, IS. And maybe stop with the Edelgard alts altogether. Claude can get one more alt though, to catch up with the other two.
