The era of Indian Pacers from Kapil Dev to Jasprit Bumrah
Tumblr media
It’s not wrong to say that there was a time when the Indian National Cricket team was struggling to find a single pacer in their squad! Who could bowl more than 150 KMPH against the top teams in the World? And today, the same Indian team has more than hundreds of pacers who can consistently bowl more than 150 KMPH. But you know, from where this journey started and who are the bowlers who have inspired every Indian to become the World’s best bowler for Men in Blue. Today we will know the era of Indian pacers from the Legendary Indian captain Kapil Dev to Jasprit Bumrah.
1. Kapil Dev (1978-1994): Kapil Dev is considered one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket history. Known for his explosive batting and swing bowling, he led India to its first-ever World Cup victory in 1983. Kapil Dev took 434 wickets in Test cricket and 253 in One Day Internationals (ODIs).
2. Javagal Srinath (1991-2003): In the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, Srinath was India's best fast bowler. Srinath, one of India's most effective fast bowlers, grabbed 236 wickets in Tests and 315 in ODIs.
3. Zaheer Khan (2000-2014): After the 2003 World Cup, the Indian team was having trouble finding a substitute for Javagal Srinath. India's success in the 2000s was greatly aided by a Mumbai-born left-arm bowler. He frequently confused batsmen with his variations because of his exceptional control of swing and seam movement. In tests, Zaheer collected 311 wickets, while in ODIs, 282 wickets.
Zaheer Khan hit the latest cricket news headlines when he yorked Steve Waugh, beating him for pace in his debut match against Australia.
4. Ishant Sharma (2007-present):  The next big thing in Indian cricket, Ishant Sharma came in the top sports headline in the world when India toured Australia in 2008 , where Ishant Sharma bowled a dream spell to Ricky Ponting in the Perth Test.
In Test cricket, Ishant has taken more than 300 wickets and has contributed significantly to India's success in international matches. Ishant also holds the distinction of bowling the fastest ball ever by an Indian, measuring 152.6 km/h (94.8 mph) against Australia at Adelaide Oval on February 17, 2008. In the process, he surpassed teammate Ashish Nehra's 149.7 kph delivery to become the first Indian to bowl above 150 km/h.
5. Mohammed Shami (2013-present): Shami is the second-fastest Indian bowler to reach 50 ODI wickets in the process. He has been an essential part of India's fast bowling in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Md.Shami has taken over 200 wickets for India.
6. Jasprit Bumrah (2016-present): Jasprit Bumrah's extraordinary abilities and distinctive bowling action shocked the cricket world a long ago. In limited-overs cricket, his capacity to bowl at fast speeds and hit the blockhole in the death overs makes him an enormous threat to the Batsman.
Jasprit Bumrah came in the top sports news headline when he became the fastest Indian bowler to 50 and 100 wickets in ODIs and the fastest Indian to reach 50 wickets in T20Is.
These are just a few of the standout pacers who have represented India from the era of Kapil Dev to Jasprit Bumrah. However, the list is long with other notable names like Venkatesh Prasad, Ajit Agarkar, Irfan Pathan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who have also contributed to India's fast bowling legacy during this period.

Is it just me, or is the timing of the Pernille to Chelsea rumors a bit off? It reminds me a lot of when Götze went to Bayern in 2013. The timing of the whole thing might mess with the heads of the Wolfsburg players as they go into the final. The only thing that would make this more fitting is if it was Olympique Lyonnais that had bought her (and that she was riding on their bench in the final, ah ha ha ha ha).
Idk it's not like the players would only be finding out from this article (unless ol have paid sportsbuzzer to release the bomb - conspiracy theoryyyy 😱) so they'll have known from previously and probably even before the finals if this really is true. Bruh and imagine that, the horror lol

Kingsley Schindler optimistic of Bundesliga promotion with Hannover 96
German born Ghanaian forward Kingsley Schindler is confident of Hannover 96 chances of gaining promotion to the Bundeliga next season. The 27-year old joined the Bundesliga II side on loan from FC Koln in the summer transfer window, and has set sights on helping the club return to the topflight. According to Schindler, the battle for promotion won't come easy but believes there is enough quality in the team to fight for a place in the top three. "Hard to say. The league is close together. I think we'll have a good squad and a good quality. But sometimes a smaller team like us with Kiel can at least make it into relegation," the former Holstien Kiel attacker told the Sportsbuzzer.  The pacy winger returns to the second tier after a tough spell with FC Koln in the top division. Schindler reveals a change in coach affected him at Koln last season. "For me it was the change of coach that more or less took me out of focus. And then it worked, and you have no more arguments. I kept offering myself in training, but it wasn't enough," he said.  Hannover 96 begin the Bundesliga II campaign with a home game against Karlsruher next month. source: https://ghanasoccernet.com/

Zimbabwe's cricketing journey
Tumblr media
If any team has impressed a lot in recent times through its performance is Zimbabwe National cricket team, whether it's an epic match against the West Indies in the ICC 2023 World Cup qualifiers, where they defeated the Caribbean by 35 runs which made it a global sports headline in the cricketing world or it's the World Cup win against India in 1999 by three runs.
Zimbabwe's national cricket journey is full of ups and downs in the world. Sometimes they are beating the top teams like South Africa, India, Australia and losing to the teams like Scotland and UAE. Let’s know  the journey of Zimbabwe national cricket team
You may not believe during the time from 1992- 2002, the Chevrons were going through a golden era time, with the batsman like Andy Flower, Andy Blignaut and Heath Streak, the inclusion of these quality players, a new breakthrough was achieved in levels of performance in the late 1990s where the Zimbabwean team began winning Tests against other nations, which included a series win against Pakistan. However, the political situation in Zimbabwe declined around the same time, which had a detrimental effect on the national team's performance.
Zimbabwe performed well at the 1999 Cricket World Cup, coming in fifth place in the Super Sixes.
Zimbabwe's Most famous wins
It would not be wrong to say that 1999 year was the best world cup for Zimbabwe's national cricket team where they defeated the Men in Blue by three runs and the most famous win came against South Africa, where the team got collapsed on 40 for 6 before Lance Klusener and Shaun Pollock scored half-centuries to reduce the margin of defeat to 48 runs and this cricket news became one of the top cricket news headline in the world.
After excellent performance in the 1999 world cup, the Zimbabwe team faced a severe decline in performance due to several reasons from financial to political with the top player quitting and disruption made into the team making them lose against teams like South Africa, New Zealand and India, where they were humiliated because of their performance against India when they became only the second side in Test history to be bowled out twice in the space of one day.

Any word on what her salary will be? Also surprised this news broke 1 day before the final, they held it for so long for it to break now and not after
No news about any finances beyond the 350,000€ in sportsbuzzer which has been the only place to report on it as of yet, we'll probably never know but expect it to be a big big one.
And yeah, I guess they would have been told to keep it under wraps but this just adds more expectation and more hype to the final. Maybe detracts a bit if the focus on it but ensures pernille, and hence the final, will be the epicenter of all things women's football this weekend
