Curious, Day 4, Part 4

...Happy Birthday dear Maia, happy birthday to you!

Penny: Make a wish, Maia! I know you're too little to verbalise a wish, but I'm sure you can still wish it!

Whilst Penny sorts out Maia's hair and outfits, Pascal gives Tycho a much-needed bath.

Maia's adorable! I had to have a little comparison with Ad, her counterpart in my main Widespot. The lower half of the face is the same, but whereas Ad got Weiss eyes with Hart brows, Maia has Hart eyes with Weiss brows.

The game wouldn't let me throw a birthday party for Maia. Are you only allowed to throw one party a day or something? No one could get a party option on the phone, so in the end she grew up quietly.

StrangeSpot, Round Thirty Two: Smith

Poor Virginia's still navigating the grieving process of losing Bondi when Jill moves in.

Jill: "I know I cheated on your brother with a college kid, but we're still good, right, fave sister-in-law?"

Virginia: *sobs even harder*

Jewel: "Why is she even here?!"

Apparently, to form a cool hat club with the other gals of the house.

Brighton: "Oh, so I'm not good enough for a cool hat?"

JoAnn: "Let me have this kid, my husband got pancaked by a satellite last week."

Brighton's also grieving for his big brother and can't find a good way to deal with it, other than repeatedly kicking over the trash can and inviting vermin to descend on the Beech beach huts. Now everyone is suffering from on-again off-again flu. Should've let him have a cool hat, y'all...

Weiss, Day 1, Part 1

I don't know Skye thinks much of dirty jokes, but he thinks a lot of anything his children do.

Penny: Daddy! Woody! Breakfast's ready!

Skye: Sorry, sweetheart - I have to go to work.

Woody: Spaghettios, again?

Penny: I had a notion for them - hmm, maybe that's pregnancy cravings, I should log that... You know you're supposed to bring the spoon to your face, not the bowl? Of course, that's only what's considered polite table manners in this culture - probably in some others you're supposed to eat like that... I should ask Lazlo's brother-in-law what table manners were on his planet.

Penny: I hear they're building a new university, between here and Strangetown. It should be ready about the time you graduate high school - if you work hard, you could go and study whatever you want!

Woody: You mean whatever you want.

Penny: Of course I'm not going to tell you what you should study! That's your decision... although if you want suggestions, I've got a few - then you could come home and tell me all about it!

Woody: That's the bus stopping at the Land place. I should go. Thanks for breakfast, Penny.

Penny: You're welcome, honey. Don't forget your bag!

Pop! So much data to update!

Penny: Junior! Come in, come in - although I'm just about to take a nap. You could watch me and make notes for me about how well I sleep, if you like? I tried to get proper sleep tracking equipment, but it's not readily available unless you're a doctor - hey, maybe I should become a doctor?

Junior: I'll come in, but I'm not watching you sleep - that's weird.

Penny: Hi! You must be from Strangetown! I'm Penny Weiss, and obviously I don't usually greet visitors in my pyjamas, but I'm pregnant so I'm sleeping a lot.

Circe: Yeah, I'm from Strangetown - Dr Circe Beaker.

Penny: A doctor! I was just saying I wonder if I'd like to be a doctor! What kind of doctor are you? Do you have any equipment for tracking sleep I could borrow?

On Friday morning at the Observatory, Penny got her menfolk off to school, wrote up some data, greeted Junior, took a nap, greeted Circe, and then went out for a walk.

(I think this version of Penny is going to exhaust me typing up her dialogue!)

Beech, Day 3, Part 4

Rocky: So I can go places by myself now, right?

Delta: Nooo! You have to count in three! Don't you know anything?

Sandy: So maybe when the guests are gone, we could head up to bed and-

Hamilton: Sounds good - I'm shattered.

Sandy: That's not what I meant...

Hamilton: So it was a productive day on the campaign...

Buck and River spent most of the party playing chess.

Later, their dads came to collect them just as the party was ending, and the boys were just leaving, so they took over the chess game.

This is not how Sandy had planned her evening ending up - feeding the baby whilst Hamilton sleeps.

Shelly was still crying after she'd been fed and changed, so Sandy gave her a bath in case her hygiene was low, then put her to bed in case it was her energy that was bothering her.

Maybe if she gets in better shape Hamilton will actually want to spend time with her. And as a back up plan, it will make her more attractive to other guys...

It's Swimming Hole time!

This is the life! Widespot's finally started to feel like the little town she's always known it should be!

Scot: It'll be years and years before this place can support an airport!

Making friends with Jill is proving an uphill battle!

Sandy: I call people for your birthday once I've put Shelly down for a nap, alright?

Sniff. This is the last time he'll run out and hug his dad!

Virginia: Birthday noogie!

After breakfast, Daytona took Virginia and Rocky out to the Swimming Hole.

He wants a date. Doesn't want Candy to think he's too needy, though. He can totally do friends-with-benefits, right?

Junior: Mary!

Junior: I feel like I haven't seen you in ages! How are you? How's Eden?

Mary: Eden's good, and I'm okay too. What's going on with you?

Junior: Father's in my ear about getting a job, but I don't want to get one until the right one comes along, you know? Mother's hired a butler. Candy just wants to be friends-with-benefits. Alma's the cutest little thing in the world.

Junior: Do you want to come back to mine? The new butler'll make us lunch.

No, Rich, you're not kissing your son's girlfriend this time!

Mary: Let's go to your room...

Junior ran into Mary at the Swimming Hole and asked her home.

Curious, Day 2, Part 1

Time for some early morning chess before Lazlo has to go to work. He really has a shockingly low number of logic points for a Curious brother and a scientist.

Off he goes! (Pascal and Vid both have the day off, plus loads of paternity leave).

Pascal wanted some new clothes, so he went down to 88 Road to Nowhere. (Sadie has a different name and I won't be making her playable - or not yet, anyway. The age cohort is short a girl, but I'm considering making two of the boys gay anyway).

Time to check out the new gym and meet some Widespot sims.

I imagine they're swapping abduction notes.

Pascal: Hi Penny! Lazlo said you had your baby - congratulations!

Penny: Thanks! She's so beautiful - I know I'm biased, but she is!

They almost made friends over kicky bag. Good enough to invite her over later, anyway.

Negative chemistry with Candy. Ripp's going to persue Candy as soon as he's in college, isn't he? Candy will probably let herself be persued...

At the Curious household, Lazlo went off to work, a pregnant Vidcund went off to bed, and Pascal put Tycho down for a nap and headed out to buy some new clothes.

Makeovers Part 2

Widespot makeovers under the cut!

My main aim with this version of Widespot is to avoid things I've done before, in my Widespot main hood.

So...

In the Beech household, this means no Hamilton knowing all along that the baby's not his and being cool about it - when he does find out, I want it to be explosive!

In the Hart household, it means avoiding the pairings of Valentine and Mary, Candy and Junior, Rhett and Penny. And Goldie and Woody, I suppose. They still might happen, but I'm not going to steer them in those directions - they've got more options now, anyway.

At the Mannsion, it means no disowning Junior and adopting a replacement.

In the Land household, it means no Mary and Val. I will try and stay strong on this!! Also, no Rocky and River.

At the Observatory, it means no Penny and Rhett, or Woody and Goldie. And Skye's going to be sticking around a lot long this time...

Speaking of sticking around, I've lengthened all the elders' life spans, so even the shortest-lived of them will be here for another 22 days.

Buck: The General says I can run faster than either of you when you were my age!

Tank: Quit showing off.

Ripp: He can show off if he wants. It's no skin off my nose - I don't care about running fast.

Buck: Why can't there just be peace and no war?

Buzz: Sometimes there has to be war to get to peace.

Tank: Come on, Buck - we're going out.

Buck: ... Do I have to?

Tank: Yep - let's go.

Curious, Day 4, Part 3

Aww, Beulah's playing dolls with Tycho!

Vidcund served the buffet, but a lot of people snacked too (I kept the fridge turned the right way so the babies would get fed).

Come on, PT, you've got six kids of your own, surely you know what to do with a baby giving off green fumes?!

I lose Skye for a while and found him playing chess with Scot. Penny's just glad her dad saw her get married - if he needs to hide at the chess board afterward that's fine by her.

This is what the rest of the party looked like. I don't know why Vid's studying parenting at the table when there's an open spot on the couch - I guess maybe there wasn't when he sat down?

Pascal: Happy?

Penny: Very. It's been a perfect day - I'm glad the weather stayed good because those clouds definitely look like rain. I know Daddy's spent most of the party hiding out at the chess table, but he saw the important part.

Limo time!

The party was pretty crazy, because there were three babies and a toddler to look after at the same time!

Still raised the roof, though.

Grunt, Day 6, Part 4

He's determined to max his body skill before he goes to college - he doesn't just want to just be a lowly recruit when he graduates; he wants to start as an officer!

Getting over the wall is always the hardest part. He needs to work on his arm strength so I bought him a set of monkey bars so he can do pull ups.

Tank: Permission to throw a party, sir?

Buzz: Granted. I know I can trust you to only invite the right sort of people. I'll throw some more sausages on the barbeque.

Tank: I don't see why we can't just intern all the aliens.

Buzz: We don't have the government support. I'm working on Assemblyperson Beech though - thanks for inviting her tonight.

The teens are ready to party. Tank does not remember inviting Scot! Maybe he should've made it clearer to Dixie he wasn't invited.

Buck wishes Ripp were around. He always feels on edge with the General and Tank when Ripp's at work. He's getting on okay with the General at the moment, but he knows if anything did start to go wrong and Ripp was there, he'd quickly deflect the attention onto himself.

Meanwhile, Tank stayed at home working out and then threw a party.

Fabio ages up, and starts to help out in the salon. He wants to have his first kiss, so I send him to the makeout spot to meet teens. He ends up having chemistry with Simeon Specter but nothing happens.

Valentine: Oh, I'll have you know I'm a very good kisser.

Chloe: I'm at 88. Want to come meet me?

Chloe: Who said you could put your hand there?

Valentine: Soooorrrrryyyyy...

Yeah, Mary should have reacted here. What is with jealousy in my game?

Val has good chemistry with Chloe. She's Romance, he's Romance.

Yes, she's dated his son. Yes, he's dated her twin sister.

Dating younger women helps Val forget about the pain of losing Angel, at least for a little while.

So sue him.
