DCF(ダイニーマコンポジットファブリック)通称キューベンファイバーを使ったロールトップ式のドライサックです。

Patagonia houdini jacket reviews

#Patagonia houdini jacket reviews zip#
I wore the windbreaker until around 10am using the zipper the ventilate when needed on large climbs and covering myself with the fitted hood when coming over the freezing peaks and ridges. But did Patagonia Houdini perform once I started moving and heating up… yes! Did I want another layer while standing at the starting line… yes.
#Patagonia houdini jacket reviews pro#
I know it’s important to start cold so I was wearing only low pro socks, shorts, compression underwear, a tech t-shirt, beanie, and the Patagonia Houdini Windbreaker Jacket. The dew was freezing in air with the entire trail glazed in frost. We linned up at 4am with a temperature of 36 degrees and dropping until 8am and it would be much colder at the top of the first few peaks. My first time wearing the Patagonia Houdini Windbreaker Jacket was race day at the Georgia Death Race. Trial by Fire for t he Patagonia Houdini : I was able to do this multiple times while running without issue. packing the Patagonia Houdini couldn’t be easier! Just unzip the chest pocket and stuff it in… fits perfect and is very easy to do. It is very comfortable and there is not limitation of my range of motion. Putting the jacket on is a breeze because of the zippered front and it offers a very fitted feel with room for a light to possibly medium base layers. This jacket is incredibly light for having a zipper, ripstop fabric, and a hood.
Can be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
Reflective logo on left chest and center back at neck.
Durable half-elastic cuffs drawcord hem.
Hood adjusts in one pull, won’t block peripheral vision.
Zippered chest pocket converts to stuffsack with a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop.
Featherweight 100% nylon ripstop with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.
The Patagonia Houdini Windbreaker’s Stats: Inevitably the winner was the Patagonia Houdini Windbreaker Jacket and in hind site I would not be disappointed. I narrowed down my choices to the Salomon S-lab Light Jacket and the Patagonia Houdini. In fact my initial thoughts were to go as cheap as possible but after a few hours of research I knew I would regret it if I did. So when I signed up for the Georgia Death Race and one of the required pieces of gear was a windbreaker my first thought wasn’t Patagonia.
#Patagonia houdini jacket reviews zip#
Be sure to put the hood over your head before you zip up, because it's a little tight at the neck if you fully zip yourself up.Īll in all, a fantastic little jacket, i still have to do a proper test in the field, but i can already see it will live up to it's hype and perform flawlessly.I’ve always heard good things about Patagonia products but the price tag has always been some what of a deterrent for me as a budget minded gear shopper. The jacket features a hood as well, and the hood has a soft brim.
#Patagonia houdini jacket reviews plus#
My iPhone 8 Plus fits nicely, no problem closing the zipper. The chest pocket is small, you can fit a set of keys, a few credit cards or even a big smartphone, inside. The material feels very very thin and porous, which makes for good breathability i guess, but nevertheless the quality is there. On colder days you will still have to wear your base and mid layers to keep warm, as this jacket is just a paper thin layer of synthetic cloth and it is designed to be used in conjunction with other layers in your system. It is very lightweight, packs incredibly small when you squeeze all the air out and does a good job protecting you in moderate winds. I was going to get the Arc'teryx Squamish Hoody, but decided to go with this one, as it is much more affordable. I bought this jacket after reading and watching a bunch of reviews online.
