A week after Chiro wakes the monkeys up, it snows and… needless to say, one's enjoying it heavily while the other's suffering.
Despite that, everyone has fun as much as they could! Sans Green trying to eat snow, they still have to keep an eye on him.
Also, this took me forever. I don't wanna do more multi page comics for a while. Everyone in the main tags can get blasted with this, dammit, I feel like I deserve something for it lol.
She's still freezing, but she's happy.

I've been thinking about the pitch pilot more, and I wouldn't mind having a separate blog for that stuff even if it's not too much, but I dunno how much y'all would be interested.
More information below the "keep reading" line if you need it, like background and what the AU might include.
For Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go fans who dunno, a pitch pilot of the show was found around a year or two ago on eBay and put onto YouTube for archival purposes. There's plenty of things different between the pitch pilot and what we got, such as Chiro being much younger (like 6-8 from the looks of it), the monkeys being referred to by their colors, and Shuggazoom City being called Pachinko Town to name a few.
It's something that interests me because it's cool to see the changes and people can go wild with the pitch pilot, especially with how Chiro would've been around when he was younger than when he found them in canon; at thirteen years old. I do have ideas, but I know I'm a little slow to getting to things I wanna do.
The Ultra Force part of the AU name is because, if I remember this correctly, the name of the show was gonna be different and Super Robot Monkey Team Ultraforce Go! was in mind before getting picked up and going with Hyperforce instead.
For the AU itself:
It'll most likely just focus on them being a family and a team with the only ships on the blog being Poly Monkeys and Chinmay (mainly when they're teenagers). If I do any other ships, it'll most likely be on the main blog under the AU name to keep things separate. I would throw Slingshot in there for SlingChinmay, but I dont know how I'd get him in there yet.
It'll also explore what could've been different, like the team's dynamics with each other, any little design differences, etc. There'll probably be other things that's different, but I dunno just yet. Still getting like a big ref sheet done of the team + height comparison.
If you guys have any thoughts you wanna share, I'd love to hear it.

ultra force thoughts
some thoughts Ultra Force has given me (i haven’t watched the video myself yet ‘cause i’m not great at focusing & also the internet here sucks, but. i have been keeping up with posts & such as best i can!)
pa shenko being the (corrupt) prime minister, which i’ve been theorizing/screaming about here on one of @projectaffectivity’s posts (i’ve been @ing you a lot lately, sorry)
an crossover episode where the monkeys & possibly SK (though that’s been done in comic format here) meet their beta version selves. just ‘cause that would be HILARIOUS. especially canon team meeting li’l Chiro xD
combining the whole “the monkey team was hired/created by the gov of Shuggazoom to deal with the monster problem” with the disappearance of Captain Shuggazoom to theorize: okay but what if after CS disappeared, the monster problem persisted, & a bunch of copycat superheroes rose up/were government created to try and curb the monster problem, but all of them failed before the SR was discovered & Chiro started being a hero???
Chiro’s parents being workaholics & never having time with their son is STILL a canon thing, but were let in on the ~Chosen One~ thing before their son & let him stay with the team despite the dangers. (They also possibly made the monkeys promise to keep them safe.)
I REALLY want like. 100 fics about the team having to stay at Chiro’s house.
and last but not least: i have the insane urge to mesh UF and HF canon together & play in that sandbox for... i dunno. a while. with some of my own tweaks. should probably just write an original story but i’d rather do this tbh

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go and Pitch Pilot Comparisons
I've been meaning to do this since the pitch pilot for the show was found, but I figured it was best that I do it on this blog because it's pitch pilot related. I want to make a compilation of differences between the pitch pilot and the show, along with what got reused later on.
This is kinda a long one, so buckle up.
Biggest changes
Names
Getting the most obvious one out of the way first.
The monkeys have different names, instead of actual names they're referred to by color. Monkey Black, monkey Blue, monkey Green, monkey Red, and monkey Yellow for Antauri, Gibson, Otto, Sprx, and Nova respectively. It's possible that they were simply placeholder names until the series got picked up, which is my guess. Chiro, Skeleton King, and Thing stayed the same name wise, though Thingy was referred to as "Thing" and "little thingy" but it's relatively the same.
Shuggazoom City is referred to as Pachinko Town. While it's obvious that the name got changed later on, and how it might've transferred to the Sheenkos in a similar sounding manner, it's interesting to note that pachinkos are a thing. More specifically, it's a Japanese word (パチンコ, pachinko) for vertical pinball like machines that are typically used for gambling, but are shown in arcades as well.
Interesting to see the Japanese word usage this far back in the show's roots, considering some Kanji is used in the show at some points, as well as Super Quasar calling Chiro Chiro-san, a Japanese suffix/honorific to show respect to the person they speak to (think of it similarly to using Mr. or Ms./Mrs. for individuals), at least from my understanding anyways as someone who doesn't speak Japanese. Makes me wonder if there being an arcade was always planned because of that little detail…
Ranger 7 is referred to as Ranger 6. Small in comparison, but interesting to note regardless.
The Super Robot is also referred to as Super Robot Battle Base Headquarters as well.
The Power Primate seems to have a different name too. Power of… Ape? Power of something, I genuinely cannot figure out what that particular word is.
Voices
This is obvious enough. A good few of the voices were changed between the pitch pilot and the show itself. Yellow and Chiro are the most notable ones. Black and Blue sound the same as they do in the show, though Blue doesn't seem to have a hint of a British accent here. Skeleton King seems the same voice wise as well, same with Red, but I'm not the best when it comes to voice acting so they might have different VAs that sound very similar to each other. It doesn't help there isn't anything saying who the voice actors were here.
Designs
Skeleton King is the most different from what I noticed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chiro's, of course, different as well but it's nothing too different from when we see his little self in the show so there's not much to note there.
The monkeys designs are a little different, but the art style doesn't help in any capacity. Their tails might be purely organic rather than cybernetic but because they're drawn as just lines, it's hard to determine that for sure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The planet looks pretty different, though it could be because not a lot of it was given much detail. The same could be said about Shuggazoom City compared to Pachinko Town.
Miscellaneous/smaller differences
Chiro doesn't have a communicator on his regular outfit, not a visible one anyways. He also transforms into his Hyperforce mode by flipping his hat, at least it appears that way.
One attack name hasn't been used in the show itself outside of the pilot, Chiro's Stingray Boom(?).
The monkeys share a singular room rather than their own individual ones as we see in the final product. Chiro's room also looks different here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The inside of the Super Robot is, in general, different looking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Red was possibly gonna be the British and/or Australian monkey of the team instead of Gibson being British, having used "blimey" and "crikey" at different points in the pitch pilot.
3D/CGI appears to have been used for the Super Robot and its individual parts. Nowhere in the show itself has there been any of that used, and if there is, it's not noticeable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What's been reused in the show
The general Thingy plot has been brought over and refined into, of course, the season 1 episode "Thingy."
The line where Yellow says "This place makes my fur itch" has been brought over to "Magnetic Menace" word for word.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some plot points in the pitch pilot has been brought over to "Chiro's Girl," mainly Thingy being used by Skeleton King directly to Jinmay being used by him and Sakko, and Chiro using pictures of their time together to help bring them back to normal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Furthermore, the fact that Chiro has an ID has been taken over from the pitch pilot as well. Show version is a blink and you'll miss it thing though since it doesn't linger on it and it doesn't show it in detail. Even I missed it a good few times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chiro's younger design was brought over, albeit for a brief moment with his old clothes being in Skeleton King's lair and for most of "Night of Fear" with Chiro being turned younger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His Hyperforce outfit is the same in both with it being brought over, just the face mask/makeup is slightly different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While there's at least one attack that's different in the pitch pilot, there's some that's been brought over, at least name wise. Those being Boom Boom Wakeup, Magna-Tingler Blast, and Psycho Chopping Doom Spin.
Chiro's space/underwater suit remains the same and has been brought over.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The names of the Super Robot parts have been transferred over as well, however with the added addition of everything being numbered 1-6 rather than Fist Rocket 1, Fist Rocket 2, Foot Crusher Cruiser 1, etc. Placements of who goes to what is also the same.
—————
And that's probably everything, unless I missed or forgot something, which is likely. Same with if I messed something up. If I did miss anything, I'll compile more for a second part or reblog typing out each addition + mentioning whoever points out what I missed.
I would've shown off more images to show the differences and whatnot, but Tumblr's stupid with its 30 images per post limit.
I thought everything was just so interesting and I couldn't help but compare and contrast it all. I'll admit that everything took me a while, mainly because of doing other things and not going through the show in a while. Still haven't outside of getting screenshots.

Since I haven't really drawn or written anything for Valentine's Day, which I'll try to make up for on a later date, I'll just say how the team's first Valentine's Day with Chiro goes.
—Some of them forgot it was even coming up. Whoops. They quickly run out to get each other something.
Roses for everyone from Black, taken straight from the garden. They're all different colors to match the monkey they're for.
Chocolates for Yellow, Green, and Red from each other and Blue. Maybe some dark chocolate for Blue, with it being the healthiest of the chocolates, albeit not in large quantities considering he rarely ever has a sweet tooth.
Popcorn and anything salty for Blue from everyone. He was very happy about that.
Black gets cotton candy and anything else sweet from the others.
They all also get Chiro something so he feels included. He's a happy little kid getting plenty of candy!
—Red, of course, tries to flirt with Yellow. It, of course, fails. Chiro tries to help edition! …Red still fails.
—Green tries to pull Blue away from the lab so he can spend time with the rest of the team. Shenanigans ensue.
—Pachinko Town gets attacked, but they take care of it and they don't let it ruin their day. It was pretty much a bonus, actually.
—Yellow offers to make dinner for everyone by herself, try to make it something special for everyone. Nope, all the monkeys want a hand in it (but they won't let Blue anywhere near the stove. They refuse to do so).
—After Chiro gets put to bed, the monkeys watch a movie together. It's not much, but they're happy to do this regardless since they haven't had a chance to spend time together like this ever since they woke up from stasis.

Ultra Force IDs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone on the team has an ID, with Chiro's being the newest one. The team thought that the IDs were necessary, even if they're only used in Pachinko Town.
Red kinda gave Blue a hard time with doing his ID photo. Thankfully, with the IDs being in good condition, the monkeys didn't need to redo their IDs once they woke up from stasis.
Once the time comes, there'll be more IDs shown…

Based on Chiro's ID here.

Oh how I despise "will they won't they"s, they usually annoy me, but oh Spova my beloved. I need to do more stuff with these two, I swear.
Also, two versions because I didn't know which one I liked better.

Blue tends to work late and he sometimes need to be pulled away from it so he can join the others. Green is typically the one to do so.
…Typically. They tend to get sucked into it too and works with him. It happens to the best of us, bud.

With Chiro having his abilities from the Power of Ape, it would be reasonable to have help and training from Red who practically has similar powers to him.
Of course, Red teaching him would be more unconventional, trying to go more of a fun approach to it than how the others would do it. Chiro's a kid, Red thinks that doing it the way Blue or Black would do it will simply bore him.
Besides, conventional and by the books just ain't his style. He's more of making games and challenges out of it once he helps Chiro be able to voluntarily bring it out than anything.
I mean, a couple of the others are a little worried about it, but it's less "he's being irresponsible with his powers" and more "he doesn't have a hold of them completely yet and he might hurt himself as he is now." However, if it works and he's learning, then it works.
Making games and challenges to get rid of excess electricity and energy is something that sticks around, even after Chiro gets older.

I was going to post this with other digitized Chiro sketches (which I shouldn't do that yet anyways with those 3-4 sketches), but since something in the works is taking a while, I figured I'd post these.
I wanted to practice drawing in SRMTHFG's art style, so of course I did everyone's favorite boy! With my own touches added of course.
Wonder what he's asking Black for for him to pull out the puppy eyes…

They were like fire and ice, Yellow and Blue.
She was warm like the sun, expressive, mostly worn her heart on her sleeve. He was cold like an iceberg, somewhat stoic, distant.
They were so different, but yet, they make it work.
