Hey Kimmy! I hope you’re having a good day/week. May I ask how you make your OCs look older? The only reason I ask is because I’m trying to design an older gentleman hedgehog design and he almost always is coming out looking too much like Sonic. You don’t have to answer this, but if you do I’d really appreciate it! I love your OCs btw!

I have several tips for you on how you could make a Mobian Oc look older! So here’s some of the things I’ve been doing:

• Size- you could really get away with making a Mobian look older by adding a size comparison to Sonic. Best example I could give is Evan Stanley’s reference sheet for Dr. Starline

• Wrinkles- You could never go wrong with adding eye wrinkle or a smile line on your character

• Facial Hair, White Hairs- Older characters tend to have a little scruffiness to them! Add some on their muzzle to imitate a beard or mustache!

• More Human-ish Proportions- I’ve noticed this is my own style. When making older OCs, I tend to stray further from typical Sonic anatomy. Smaller heads, Bigger body. Digit’s revamp has kinda gone through this! I wanted to make her look a lot older here

• Muted Color Pallets- I have a headcanon where Mobian’s fur colors fade and dull as they get older, So I try to keep it consistent to my character designs! Here’s a quick comparison with Barkley (left) and Vino (right)
