HI SOSA!!! I’m sorry to disappoint but I don’t have too much more on her yet.. since I made her for the group I do lethal company with I knew I wanted someone very different in demeanor to Kabel, so Cadena is almost her inverse? She’s got that mynah sweetness but with an additional twist of danger not really registering in her head? Like compared to Kabel who’s a second away from kicking someone in the head out of fear of potential harm to herself, Cadena is able to remain unnervingly calm in a lot of situations. She’s cheerful and nice but under that is a layer that’s too chill for her own sake…

I don’t have to much on her life before being sent to L13’s timeloop hell since I’m still working on it , but she definitely killed someone which is what got her sent to L13. I think before that she was a respected but quieter member of her cadre, and earned the name Cadena because she was a silent but strong link in her facility, like a chain! I’ve also been thinking of adding a chain as an accessory on like one of her mynah handles/tied around two of them, I think it’d be cute. Design wise I also think she got her visor damaged from the murder she committed (which is why right now I’m partial to saying it was a fellow mynah, I don’t know what else could break that like that!).

Once she’s reassigned to L13 she also becomes fast friends with @/otterkitty’s starling Neo and we’re still working out dynamics but Cadena is quite fond of her! I think she generally tends to view other replikas as cute/has cuteness aggression about them except for in the case of my Kabel. I think this dialogue gives the best idea of how Cadena talks and thinks if that makes sense? She’s very aware of her strength and what she can do with it, but is also very lighthearted. There’s something wrong with her though <3 I am going to make her worse <3

Wait now I also got curious about Awol's artistic endeavors: Does she have an art style? favorite colors/tools/materials to work with?

I think her art style tends to be pretty colorful in a hurts-your-eyes kind of way, she especially loves the really neon pinks and blues but all bright saturated eye burning colors have a place in her heart 😌

Medium wise she really likes spray paint I think that’s possibly her favorite to use! I imagine it’s one of the easier and cheaper things she could exchange her ration marks for compared to other art supplies she might want to get (there’s a lot of mediums she’d love to try but she’s afraid to buy more expensive things bc her stuff gets confiscated often enough). She also loves paint/posca type pens/paint markers. Her chunky blocky art supplies <3

Honestly chunky and blocky are probably the best way I could describe her art style as a whole, she really loves THICK outlines and then goes ham with blocks of color to define form and such, or she does much smaller intricate line work (this she’d mostly do for her own shell etchings she does to herself I think). Either way I think her style is always very bold and loud, her art really is how she speaks and she has a Lot to say clearly!! Her style is also impossible to fully remove from my own I fear, I think both me and Awol have a lot of strong colors that we use (or so I’m told!). Her style is influenced by a lot of my tastes and what I like in art styles as well lmao! She’s also heavily inspired by @/plasterhound ‘s style I’m not gonna lie 😌

13. Do you have a voice claim for the character? What do you imagine the character sounds like?

This is partially because her dynamic with Dorredt was inspired by Tendi and T'lyn from Lower Decks but I think Kosmos has a lot of the same enthusiasm that Tendi does. I don't think she sounds exactly like Tendi but I think she's probably the closest match!!

15. Have you ever made a moodboard for them?

Does her pinterest board count... I do wanna make a proper moodboard w the normal square template like I did for Feuer one day tho!

17. Are there any motifs or symbols associated with the character? How are they represented, in their design, personality or in some other way?

The theme of pioneering and exploring (specifically exploring the stars!! Space!!!) is Kosmos's big Thing TM!! I guess her body sort of shows that in that she's literally a mynah built for space exploration, I have to draw her again but I imagine her visor having a bigger window compared to normal mynahs to resemble a typical astronaut suit more... she also has the standard thing of replikas having logos on them so on her shoulder she has an earlier design of the penrose mission's logo!! Whichhh I need to design but shhh u don't know that... so yeah physically I think she shows that pretty well. Personality-wise she was very much made to be the pioneer who proudly goes out to explore for the nation, she's curious and genuinely wants to learn new things!! She's excited for her mission!! It was initially part of just how she was built but it's genuine nonetheless!! OH and I guess her name also shows this, she's literally named Kosmos lmaooo

HMMM I don't have too much... this is an awesome excuse to show the super cute chibis I commed Rene (@/plasterhound) for of Dorredt and Kosmos (rene if u see this I LOVE THESE SO SO MUCH RAGHHHH)

I wish I had more to say apart from that 😭 I’m still debating the “end” for Kosmos and although it’d break my heart to hurt her I still think it’s really fun to play with the idea of the Nation essentially abandoning her as a prototype as they abandon the original ideals and heart of the Penrose mission and leave her to drift aimlessly in space until the end of her service life…
