Secondary Characters and Their Pokemon: Takako Nozomi
Tumblr media
Takako is a close friend of Ashley’s, despite being eighteen years old she doesn’t seem to mind hanging out with an excited eleven-year-old Ashley. Takako is calm, collected and a little mischievous. She’s also Hunter J’s niece, being the daughter of J’s much nicer sister. Takako’s mother gave Takako free reign to do whatever she wanted, as a result, Takako would just laze around or cause mischief. She met Ashley on Separation Day and the two became fast friends despite Ashley being a good girl and Takako being a bit of a rebel. She may not openly admit it, but she does enjoy Ashley’s company and hanging out with her since Ashley is her first friend.
Her main colors would be black, gray, silver and a bit of yellow. Black represents how she’s secretive, not telling Ashley or the others about who her family is, her protectiveness after she befriends Ashley, as well as how she’s intimidating and a little unfriendly as she was a little rude to Ashley before getting to know her better. (It also fits as she’s a teenager and most teenagers wear black) Silver represents her slight femininity, as well as how she can soothe and calm her Pokemon down or Ashley when she gets restless, silver also represents how she’s mature, determined, wise and organized. Gray represents how she’s detached, not from her emotions, but to society and her own family. It also represents how she’s indecisive, she doesn’t know if she should tell the Ketchum family who her family is, it also represents how she’s quiet and reserved. She would wear light gray as light gray saves and rescues anyone in difficult situations, which she will do if Ashley gets into trouble. Yellow represents how she thinks logically and a small bit of her being a coward, if it came down to it she would rather keep her family a secret than tell anyone who her aunt is.
Her Pokemon:
Deino- Takako’s mother gave Takako a Pokemon egg when she was four so she could learn how to take care of a Pokemon. Takako took care of the egg and it hatched into her Deino. Deino is a loyal Pokemon to Takako, but he does still bite anything that he feels moves since he can’t see. He’s also playful and a little silly, often doing things to make Takako or her other Pokemon laugh or smile. He has a bit of a sweet tooth, so he likes it when Ashley comes by and brings snacks like PokePuffs.
Ability is Hustle
Moves are Bite, Headbutt, Dragon Tail, Dragon Rush, Work Up, Outrage, Zen Headbutt, Crunch, Roar, and Focus Energy.
Kantonian Persian- Takako found Persian when she was a Meowth and caught her. Meowth was a little prissy and enjoyed being pampered by Takako as well as collecting shiny things, she had evolved during a battle against one of her mom’s Pokemon. Persian takes great pride in how she looks and walks around with grace and elegance, she hates battling and is more interesting in being pampered but she’s very strong when she does need to battle. She doesn’t like to admit it but she does like being near Takako and only sees her worthy enough to pet and cuddle her.
Ability is Technician
Held Item is a Soothe Bell to make her more docile
Moves are Swift, Play Rough, Fake Out, Power Gem, Feint Attack, Nasty Plot, Assist, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt and Attract.
Skiddo- Takako found Skiddo ramming his head against a tree, she kept watching him and offered to help him train. Soon she caught him and they started training together. Skiddo is energetic and eager to train daily. He didn’t know what to do so he mostly just rammed his head into a tree whenever he would find one before he was caught by Takako. He’s stronger than he looks as he allows Takako to ride on his back, he enjoys giving others rides and being counted on for even simple things like carrying groceries.
Ability is Sap Sipper
Moves are Bulldoze, Seed Bomb, Bulk Up, Giga Drain, Rock Slide, Nature Power, Sunny Day, Synthesis, Leaf Blade and Return.
Absol- Takako caught Absol after he had successfully warned villagers about a flood that was going to happen. Since Takako was the only one to believe his warning and not see him as a disaster bringer, he stayed by her side and allowed her to catch him. Absol is a serious Pokemon that acts as the leader of Takako’s team since Deino is too silly, Persian is too prissy and arrogant, Skiddo is too energetic, Fraxure works alongside him and Luxray prefers to be by himself. He also doesn’t trust certain people as he can sense if they’re dangerous.
Ability is Super Luck
Moves are Perish Song, Aerial Ace, Swords Dance, Night Slash, Razor Wind, Psycho Cut, Mean Look, Throat Chop, Fury Cutter and Shadow Claw.
Fraxure- Fraxure was caught by Takako after he battled her Absol. During the battle, one of his tusks broke and because they can’t grow back he’s stuck with one tusk. Fraxure is a serious Pokemon and feels like he has to make up for his missing tusk, as such, he spends a lot of his time sharpening his other tusk and has to make sure that doesn’t break in a battle. He gets along with his teammates and often works alongside Takako’s Absol. He sees Deino as a little brother and will mentor or play with him as well as train him to help him get stronger.
Ability is Mold Breaker.
Moves are Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Outrage, Guillotine, Poison Jab, Reversal, Dragon Tail, Giga Impact, Scary Face, and Dual Chop.
Luxray- Luxray was caught as a Shinx, he was rough and a loner which only increased as he evolved. He was a battle-hungry Pokemon that enjoys battling anyone he sees or meets. Takako mostly sends him out to battle first since he’s the most enthusiastic about battling, he prefers using physical attacks like any other Luxray and will flash his mane as a way to distract his opponents from attacking him.
Ability is Intimidate
Moves are Electric Terrain, Spark, Thunder Fang, Crunch, Wild Charge, Ice Fang, Night Slash, Iron Tail, Flash, and Roar.

Comprehensive list of ‘Safe to Watch’ Anime (W.I.P)
This post is made up of three lists: ‘Safe To Watch’ ‘Almost’, and ‘Blind Reccomendations and Suggestions’.
‘SAFE’ TO WATCH
If memory serves me correctly, these anime are free from overt fanservice or anything that slaps you in the face with how problematic it is. This list will be worked on an added to over time. I’ll only really be focusing on shows that I think are worth a watch
1) Tokyo Mew Mew - Watch subbed due to 4Kids style butchering in the dub. Luckily that doesn’t happen anymore these days in dubs.
2) Little Witch Academia - A series on Netflix that can only be described as The Worst Witch - The Anime. Watch sub or dub depending on your preference.
3) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Also on Netflix. Probably one of the highest rated anime of all time, and has multiple well-portrayed female characters and even some racial diversity. It’s set in a Europe inspired setting, so I recommend watching dubbed. Although the dub is just great anyway. Skip episode 1 and go straight to episode 2, as the first episode is actually filler and even contains a spoiler.
4) Attack on Titan
5) Love Live! School Idol Project Season 2, and Love Live! The School Idol Movie. Season 1 of Love Live is an ‘ALMOST’, but I’ll get to that in the next list. You shouldn’t skip season 1 though, for story reasons.
6) Digimon Tamers - The most well written of all the Digimon shows, with good character arcs. Can be watched on Amazon Prime.
7) Tokyo Ghoul. Shame about the second season ignoring the manga almost completely though
8) Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions Season 1 - A story about young teenagers who either went through a phase of believing they had superpowers and were some kind of anime character, or still haven’t outgrown that phase and still like to pretend they have special powers.
There’s no real fanservice in either season, but season 2 has two seperate instances of a very minor homosexual female character being portrayed as a bit weird and deviant. Season 1 is completely clean though, so watch that and decide for yourself whether to keep watching.
9) Cardcaptor Sakura - Same genre as Tokyo Mew Mew. Again watch subbed for the same reason as TMM. It also has subtle portrayals of homosexuality, being a work by CLAMP, and there doesn’t seem anything wrong with it as far as I’m aware. People who are actually queer can have the final say on that though.
10) Strawberry Panic - A show about an all girl’s school where being gay is just the norm. And believe it or not, it’s NOT a porno! Again, people who are actually queer can have the final say on whether the portrayals are okay or not, but from my perspective everyone seems to just be a person who happens to be gay, considering that homosexuality is treated as normal and nothing special in this show.
11) Yuri on Ice
12) Wolf Children - An animated film that’s just really good. The story of a mother raising what are basically werewolves but with complete control over when they can transform. Her challenge is whether to raise them as humans or as wolves.
13) Yona Of The Dawn - Story of a spoiled princess in Ancient Japan who gradually grows into a strong individual. I’ve also been informed that the multitude of men in the cast are also all rather attractive, if that’s a selling point for you xD Yona of the Dawn can be watched on Funimation Now.
14) Madoka Magica - It’s been almost five years since I’ve seen this, but I’m absolutely certain there was no fanservice. I recommend you watch this only after seeing a show like Tokyo Mew Mew/Cardcaptor Sakura, or Sailor Moon, as Madoka Magica is part of the same genre ('Magical Girl’) but expects you to have already seen the classic magical girl shows or at least know a little bit about them. Give it four episodes before you judge it. Trust me, this is the most extreme example of not judging by the first couple of episodes. 15) My Love Story - I mean when a stranger gets arrested for trying to feel a girl on the train and gets promptly punched in the face for basically saying that 'she was asking for it wearing a skirt that short’, you know the writer’s got their head on straight morally. 16) Wandering Son - “ Effeminate fifth grader Shuuichi Nitori is considered by most to be one of the prettiest girls in school, but much to her dismay, she is actually biologically male. Fortunately, Shuuichi has a childhood friend who has similar feelings of discomfort related to gender identity: the lanky tomboy Yoshino Takatsuki, who, though biologically female, does not identify as a girl. These two friends share a similar secret and find solace in one another; however, their lives become even more complicated when they must tread the unfamiliar waters of a new school, attempt to make new friends, and struggle to maintain old ones. Faced with nearly insurmountable odds, they must learn to deal with the harsh realities of growing up, transexuality, relationships, and acceptance. Lauded as a decidedly serious take on gender identity and LGBT struggles, Takako Shimura’s Hourou Musuko is about Shuuichi and Yoshino’s attempts to discover their true selves as they enter puberty, make friends, fall in love, and face some very real and difficult choices.”
More to come
THE 'ALMOST’ LIST
These are shows that are about 95% okay, but have one or two tiny moments or a small aspect about them that are a bit 'ehhh’. Nevertheless, I believe every show on this list is still worth a watch due to them very good for the vast majority of the show regardless.
1) Love Live! School Idol Project Season 1 - Love Live is usually so innocent that it’s practically the Disney/My Little Pony of anime; singing and dancing included. But clearly someone on the writing staff was a little confused and thought they were writing some terrible Adult Swim comedy or something, because this one gag that they clearly thought was so hilarious it had to be included, left everyone including Japanese viewers thinking “What the hell!?”
If I could put the series into Windows Movie Maker and edit out five seconds from episode 2 and about 10 seconds from episode 7 (ESPECIALLY those ten seconds from episode 7) then I’m sure a large majority of the fandom would rejoice. It’s such a tonal whiplash and I’m kind of concerned for the writer who finds this funny. I’ve been told that apparently real high school girls in Japan do that to their friends as a prank or just to piss about, but the difference there is that it’s between friends who trust each other.
…However, there is actually a happy end to this story, as I’ve been told that Japanese viewers actually complained to the people behind the show, and THEY LISTENED! When working on season 2, they clearly listened to fan feedback as Nozomi never did that again. It was so out of place in the show anyway, and so uncomfortably portrayed.
Nevertheless, the other 95% of Love Live is this wonderful colourful, bright, heartwarming show with a great main character and catchy music and it went above all my expectations of it, and I while I wouldn’t normally condone ignoring problematic things, the fact that it’s literally such a tiny tiny amount of the show’s running time, and the fact that the complaints were heard and they learnt their lesson, means that with a well timed fast forward (I might look up the exact times to skip at some point ) you can skip past those two moments and improve your watching experience. I just wish there was a version with it edited out completely. ___________________
2) Death Note - Barely any female characters other than Misa, who may divide opinion on how she’s portayed. However it’s a fantastic watch regardless, and is fanservice free
3) Mirai Nikki/Future Diary - Mao. A bit of a problematic portrayal of a homosexual female as her sexuality seems to be her main character trait. She’s a minor side character though, so it depends how invested you are before she pops up halfway through the show.
There’s also a little brief female nudity, in a Game Of Thrones way that kind of comes across more as 'Look how mature we are!’ which of course has the opposite effect… However it’s never portrayed in a pornographic way from what I remember, and in one case is even used to unnerve/disturb. Opinions will vary though.
The third episode also features a slightly questionable moment where Yuno loses her bikini top in the pool. Now, you don’t see anything and she does hide herself, and in retrospect she probably did that on purpose to get Yuki more interested in her, but the gut reaction is more “um…. please don’t let my parents walk in right now :L”
It’s a bit more of an ask than the others, but the plot to this is so thrilling and twisting that I couldn’t help love it regardless
4) Parasyte: The Maxim
The quickest a show has ever redeemed itself. This show sees the main character’s hand getting taken over by an alien parasite, but the first episode decides that it’d be 'hilarious’ if the parasite hand accidently grabs his friend’s breast when trying to get the hang of controlling it. But a few episodes later, after several days of her being understandably mad at him (although the fact that it was the parasite’s fault and not his complicated it), he apologises (although missing out the part about the alien parasite) and I feel the show does a good job of acknowledging that it’s wrong and in no way supports it. It’s early on right there in the first episode, so once you’re past that it’s clean sailing for the rest of the show
5) Steins;Gate - While some find the first half a bit slow, Steins;Gate becomes phenomenal in the second half. Only problem is that the self-proclaimed mad scientist Okabe Rintaro is more science-smart than social-smart, and there’s a thing he does purely out of shock and scientific curiosity when he finds himself in an alternate timeline where a friend of his may now be a different sex. Needless to say, it’s better to just ask rather than check… He’s told off for it and the characters on screen are understandably shocked, but that’s exactly my reaction as well and this uncomfortable moment is a blight on an otherwise fantastic show
6) Sailor Moon - The classic Magical Girl show that influenced the likes of Tokyo Mew Mew and moved the genre forwards. It also features canonically a canonically gay couple about 150 episodes in. Looking back nowadays though, the Nostalgia Critic said it best (skip to 9:00): https://youtu.be/pa2oHxME-aY I never found it attractive in that way myself, possibly because I could see they were cartoons and not real with the 90s art style the show has, but it still can't be denied that it's a bit awkward with their age
7) Gatchaman Crowds, and Gatchaman Crowds Insight - A superhero show that takes a surprising turn into kind-of deeper social and politcal commentary. It really is fantastic, but some may look at the flamboyant looking character OD and see it as a perpetuation of a stereotype. One the other hand, he’s never actually stated or shown to be gay, just fashionable in his own way and flamboyant. To be honest he actually struck me as pretty awesome for just dressing however he wants, especially when the top hat comes in to the mix. I thought the same about Rui, a character refered to by everyone as male but wears clothes traditionally seen as female, as well as a wig, and looks pretty awesome doing it. Both these characters are never the butt of a joke and are generally just accepted by everyone without being commented on. I will also mention Utsustu, a minor character who sometimes just casually wears a bikini as clothes. But surprisingly there’s no camera close ups of her chest or anything fanservice-y. We view the show through the lens of the very open minded main character Hajime. When Hajime firsts meets Utsustu, she just comments “cute swimsuit!” and asks her where she got it from. To me this gave the impression that, like the main character Hajime, we shoud accept that this is how she sometimes likes to dress, and more power to her if she wants to. Not to mention that there is way more to her character than what she wears. I think the show in general has good elements of celebrating self-expression in these three characters, but I can see why some would disagree.
Often there’s a debate when it comes to localisation and censorship, but with most of the shows above I kind of wish that a censored version was at least available because for people like me they’d be an improvement. But I feel that as long as you acknowledge that a moment is wrong and acknowledge what’s wrong with it and talk about it, you can still enjoy the rest of the show since you won’t be pretending it’s okay and your own morals won’t be influenced by it. Feel free to disagree with me though _______________ BLIND RECOMMENDATIONS 1) Snow White with the Red Hair - Not one I’ve seen myself but was suggested to me for this list 2) Whispered Words. “ Murasame Sumika is popular in the high school for her excellence in the marks and sports. However, she has a secret: she is in love with her classmate Kazama Ushio. Ushio also has a liking to the love between girls, but she hasn’t noticed Sumika’s feelings and has always been refused by other girls.” Apparently a very relatable story for any closeted girl. 3) Samurai Flamenco -” Male model Masayoshi Hazama becomes the superhero Samurai Flamenco and fights crime. “

Delicate Emotions Blossom in "Sweet Blue Flowers"
  What's “Cruising the Crunchy-Catalog”?
Have you ever visited a library and felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of books to choose from? Picking a new anime to watch can be similarly overwhelming, which is why curation is the name of the game here on “Cruising the Crunchy-Catalog”. Each week we provide additional info and cultural context to help anime fans decide whether or not they'd like to check out an unknown title.
    What's Sweet Blue Flowers?
Sweet Blue Flowers (known as Aoi Hana in Japan) is a 2009 TV anime with direction by Kenichi Kasai (Wolf Girl and Black Prince) and animation by J.C. Staff (Alice & Zoroku). The series is based on the manga by Takako Shimura that was serialized from 2004 – 2013 in Ohta Publishing's Manga Erotics F. Crunchyroll describes Sweet Blue Flowers as follows:
Fumi Manjoume enters Kamakura's accelerated high school - Matsuoka All-Girls High School. While waiting at the Kamakura station on the day of her entrance ceremony, she runs into an old childhood friend whom she had not seen in 10 years: Akira Okudaira. As their friendship is rekindled and they start falling back into the rhythm of friends again, it starts a delicate love story...
The wording here is important: Sweet Blue Flowers is a story of both romantic love and a story of friendship, and it explores how caring for other people can tug the heart in multiple conflicting directions simultaneously. It's a wonderfully mature and nuanced look at the difficulties posed by both potential and existing relationships.
The Colors of a Harsh and Gentle World.
One of the most noteworthy strengths of Sweet Blue Flowers is its lighting and color design. The series eschews the bright, high contrast visual aesthetics common in many anime in favor of a muted, pastel color palette that makes the backgrounds of many scenes look more like watercolor paintings. The lighting is also more subdued, and the effect of sunlight dappling through foliage is especially effective
youtube
    Story, Not Spectacle.
Many mainstream stories about LGBTQ+ characters transform the lives of queer characters into a spectacle of horror, heartbreak, and tragedy, but Sweet Blue Flowers avoids this pitfall. While Fumi Manjoume is a lesbian and Yasuko Sugimoto is bisexual, Sweet Blue Flowers centers its narrative on their experiences. They are not portrayed as strange or extraordinary, but simply as young people struggling with the complex feelings and social pressures of romantic love.
    Low Stakes, High Drama.
Similar to Ristorante Paradiso, Sweet Blue Flowers deals with drama and romance in a way that is so understated that it could almost qualify under the original theatrical definition of “slice of life”. The cast is full of realistically flawed characters who behave like real people who fall in and out of love, deal with feelings of envy and despair, and try their best to support their friends and family.
While Sweet Blue Flowers addresses longing and heartbreak, it does not do so in a melodramatic way. The show includes hurt feelings and broken promises, but there are no scenes of tearful betrayals in the pouring rain or suitors sprinting across platforms, chasing after the trains that carry their lovers away. Passions cool and love goes unrequited in Sweet Blue Flowers, but in a way that is very realistic, very down-to-earth, and very genuine.
    Private Enrollment.
Crunchyroll currently streams Sweet Blue Flowers in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the United States Minor Outlying Islands. The series is available in the original Japanese language with English subtitles.
Sweet Blue Flowers is also released on DVD in North America by Nozomi Entertainment under their Lucky Penny label, and an English language version of the original manga will be published by Viz Media. The first English language volume of the manga will be published on September 19, 2017.
Representation is important in art and pop culture, and Sweet Blue Flowers is one of the most tender and respectful stories about members of the LGBTQ+ community living and loving in modern anime. If you're in the mood for a series that traces the threads of a complicated web of relationships with delicacy and grace, please consider giving Sweet Blue Flowers a try.
Is there a series in Crunchyroll's catalog that you think needs some more love and attention? Please send in your suggestions via e-mail to [email protected] or post a Tweet to @gooberzilla. Your pick could inspire the next installment of “Cruising the Crunchy-Catalog”!

Takako: Don’t have anyone to kiss.
Penelope: No no no!
Monica: *blushes* I d-did kiss their cheek once...
Shigeru: No one would want to kiss me, aside from mom.
12. Your hobbies?
Tina: I like writing, as it’s my job. I also like to take pictures and I go into Pokemon racing and Mantine surfing.
Takako: There are times I’ll play pranks on others. But I also have an interest in poetry and drawing, I also know my way around technology.
Penelope: I like to sew little puppets and toys for kids. As well as clothes for me and my friends.
Monica: I like to train myself to fight any kind of fighting style!! Except maybe Aikido...
Shigeru: I kind of have to get back to normal human stuff after I got bitten by Chief, but I do like helping Mr. Ketchum with saving Pokemon.
13. Who are your friends?
Tina: Well I like hanging out with Grey, his sister Katri and his cousin Ashley. As well as my Pokemon.
Takako: My only friend is Ashley. I guess Grey is pretty cool.
Penelope: Oh, Salvia! We have so much in common and she feels the same way about Pokemon battling as I do!
Monica: I really like hanging out with Alex! We both train with each other and our Pokemon train with each other. It’s so much fun!
Shigeru: I’m friends with my little brother and my pack of Rockruffs.
14. Fav weather?
Tina: I like sunny weather~
Takako: I like cloudy weather.
Penelope: I really like sunny weather, it’s where I meet a lot of Pokemon.
Monica: I like the sun, it’s the best time to get a work out in!
Shigeru: I’d say sunny weather, I used to like the rain but now I can’t stand it...
15. What season do you prefer?
Tina: Summer~
Takako: Fall.
Penelope: Spring~
Monica: SUMMER!!!
Shigeru: Summer.
16. Your biggest fears?
Tina: I once nearly drowned during a thunderstorm at sea, so I’m now I’m terrified of drowning...
Takako: Ashley’s parents finding out who my aunt is...
Penelope: Seeing that bad man daddy told me about. I forgot his name but he said that he used daddy and told him lies. I never met him but I’m afraid of meeting him.
Monica: There was one time a bunch of guys beat me up before I started taking fighting classes, I never want to be in that situation again...
Shigeru: It was being abandoned by my parents if they found out what happened to me. Now I’m just afraid of being a social outcast, I’m the first were Lycanroc that came back to society.
17. Any persons you don’t like?
Tina: Hmm, I’d say that girl competing against Grey for the gym leader position. She’s so spiteful...
Takako: I guess my aunt J. The few times I saw her, she wasn’t very nice to me, dad and she was very hostile to mom.
Penelope: I don’t like the Cipher people, they’re so mean to Pokemon and force them to close their hearts. I’m glad Mr. Ketchum helps save them.
Monica: Those bastards that beat me senseless when I was younger. Oh, and Alex’s parents. They admitted that they were abused by their parents.
Shigeru: I hate those Cipher guys too, they kept attacking my pack to capture them and shut their hearts. I also hate those scientists from years ago, they attacked the summer camp, which is near my territory and tried to take away all the kids there. They would have gotten away with my little brother had I not ordered the attack against them.
18. Do you like cute things/persons?
Tina: Of course I do~
Takako: Yeah, I guess.
Penelope: Oh of course~ To me all Pokemon are cute~
Monica: Totally bro!
Shigeru: I do find Rockruff pups to be very cute.
19. A compliment you get to hear often?
Tina: That my stories are amazing and how I’m so lucky to get scoops on Grey, Ashley, Daichi and the others.
Takako: I’ve been called super cool.
Penelope: That I’m a gentle soul and that I’m really cute.
Monica: That I’m a great fighter for someone my age and how they think I’m great at it.
Shigeru: Kids think my ears and tail are cool and ask if they can touch them.
20. Name your worst habits.
Tina: I tend to not get a lot of sleep when I’m writing, I’m also a little unorganized...
Takako: I keep secrets and I’m a coward...
Penelope: I can be a bit too soft on my Pokemon...
Monica: I can get a little too excited when I fight, to the point I don’t hold back...
Shigeru: I still have some Pokemon traits in me, so I either forget I’m talking like a Pokemon, I savagely eat my food, I scratch behind my ear with my back leg, I’ll shake water off me if I’m wet, I’ll howl at dusk or dawn, the list goes on really. 21. Do you look up to anyone at all?
Tina: I’d say Alexa and her sister Viola, they’re both really good at their jobs as journalists.
Takako: I’ll admit, I look up to Ashley’s father. She’s always telling me stories about him.
Penelope: Daddy, mommy, Mr. Ketchum and Mrs. Ketchum. Daddy and Mr. Ketchum help save Shadow Pokemon so I look up to them. Mommy owns Pokestar Studios and helps people learn they love being actresses and actors. And Mrs. Ketchum because she’s the greatest Kalos Queen I’ve ever seen, the way she moves each time is amazing and graceful and I want to be like her~
Monica: My dad of course! He’s my goal, I want to be a black belt like him one day! I’m a red belt right now, but I’ll get there!
Shigeru: I guess my dad, I always wanted to be a researcher like him. 22. Do you go to school?
Tina: I was homeschooled so no, I don’t go to school. But I’m allowed to write reports on the Pokemon school.
Takako: Nah, I don’t go.
Penelope: I do go and I find it very fun~
Monica: Darn right I do!!
Shigeru: Yes, dad said it should help me get back into society. 23. Ever wanna marry and have kids one day?
Tina: Of course I do~ With Grey~
Takako: I guess so, maybe.
Penelope: I don’t know...
Monica: Totally!!
Shigeru: What would my kids be like...? 24. Do you have fangirls/fanboys?
Tina: Only one or two.
Takako: Not in the slightest.
Penelope: I don’t think so.
Monica: Apparently guys like a girl who can kick ass.
Shigeru: I doubt it. 25. What do you usually wear?
Tina: A yellow shirt, a blue vest, red framed glasses, red shorts, blue and yellow striped socks, red sneakers, a white maid headdress, cherry hair pins and I carry a red bag with me.
Takako: A black shirt, black sunglasses, gray pants, a silver necklace with these yellow gems attached, black boots and I have these beads on a stick in my ponytail.
Penelope: A dress that has a purple top and a pink skirt, white tights, pink slip ons and I wear a gold tiara. Daddy gave it to me once so I keep it on me at all times.
Monica: A maroon shirt, a light brown vest, tan shorts, red sneakers and I’ll have a red headband tied around my head.
Shigeru: I can shift my appearance so long as it looks like a Dusk Lycanroc. 26. What class are you? (low class, middle class, high class)
Tina: Middle class.
Takako: Middle class.
Penelope: Upper middle class.
Monica: Middle class.
Shigeru: Upper middle class.
27. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?
Tina: I’d say both, so long as I have Lapras or Mantine with me.
Takako: An ocean, I don’t like being near lakes...
Penelope: I guess a lake, lakes are fun.
Monica: An ocean provides a challenge when toning up my muscles!
Shigeru: I’d say neither, I don’t enjoy swimming anymore.
28. What’s your type?
Tina: I don’t have a preferred Pokemon type.
Takako: I guess I’d say Dark types or Dragon types.
Penelope: All types are cute, why pick one?
Monica: Fighting types and Grass types.
Shigeru: I’d say Rock types. 29. Camping or indoors?
Tina: Both because I can write either way.
Takako: Camping sounds fun.
Penelope: I like camping too~
Monica: CAMPING!!!
Shigeru: I’ve been camping for years...I miss the indoors....

Secondary Characters Trivia
~Tina is based on a character in Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. She’s a bachelorette that the player has the choice of marrying.
~Tina being Grey’s girlfriend is based on me narrowing down the choices of the bachelorettes. Iroha didn’t seem like the most compatible, Felicity is a glutton and Grey only knows how to make spicy food which I don’t think she could tolerate, Michelle was using the player to get valuable items and Witch Princess is Witch Princess. A happy, preppy journalist seemed to be the perfect fit for someone like Grey.
~Tina’s design looks nothing like Harvest Moon Tina, the only thing that stayed the same is her green eyes. Her hair is longer and a lighter brown and she wears the primary colors instead of orange and white, she also has glasses as she strained her eyes from writing in the dark with no good light source.
~The Pokemon Tina needed for her job were as followed, a Pokemon to know Sing so she can fall asleep when she refuses to sleep, a big, fast Flying-type to carry her around so she could get to places faster. A Pokemon she can ride on land to deliver newspapers. A Pokemon she can play with to relax after a day working. A Pokemon she can ride on the water to get to water-related news. And a Psychic-type that can organize and tidy up her room. That led to her current team of Blissey, Braviary, Rapidash, Mantine, Lapras, and Espurr.
~For Tina’s team Blissey is in a Heal Ball, Braviary is in an Ultra Ball, Rapidash is in a Luxury Ball, Mantine is in a Net Ball, Lapras is in a Dive ball and Espurr is in a Pokeball.
~Monica and Shigeru were created due to an RP with a friend. They weren’t planned until then.
~Monica was going to be Grey’s girlfriend but I changed my mind and had her be Alex’s girlfriend.
~Monica’s parents are a Black Belt which is why she knows how to fight so well and an Aroma Lady which is why she’s down to earth and calm.
~Her mother’s starter was a Deerling, now a Sawsbuck. Her father’s starter was a Tyrogue, now a Hitmonchan.
~For Monica’s team, Ziggy the Linoone is in a Pokeball, Tyrogue is in a Friend Ball, Mareep is in a Love Ball, Chimchar is in a Level Ball, Poliwrath is in a Lure Ball and Riolu is in a Friend Ball.
~Shigeru was created once my friend introduced the concept of Were-Lycanrocs. I decided to let Shigeru be the leader and Chris’ older brother.
~He’s currently the only Dusk Lycanroc in the pack and the only Were-Lycanroc in said pack.
~He always feels bad about preying on and eating another Pokemon, he still gets nightmares from all the Pokemon he ate before being found by his parents.
~As a result, he picks the meat clean from the bones, gathers the fur (if they had any) and buries the skeletons and fur in the ground where he found them.
~Shigeru is currently the only teenage OC that doesn’t have a full team of six.
~Shigeru having Jolteon, Vaporeon and Flareon was simply to remind him of Kanto as he couldn’t leave Alola.
~It’s also because Jolteon can lead the rest of the Rockruffs and show them how to hunt on their own, Vaporeon punishes any Lycanroc that comes onto their territory as she’s a Water-type and Flareon helps with training Rockruffs who are close to evolving as well as cooking meat for Shigeru as Jolteon used his electricity to cook, it ended up having Shigeru being shocked each time he took a bite.
~Even after a good long time of being a Were-Lycanroc, Shigeru still can’t bring himself to eat raw meat. He finds any sight of raw meat disgusting, he’s also afraid that he might get sick if he eats it raw.
~Shigeru didn’t have Pokeballs for his team so he ended up giving Jolteon, Vaporeon and Flareon bandanas so trainers would think they were under a trainer.
~Shigeru had to re-enter society and it took him a while to do so as he was so used to being in the wild as a Lycanroc.
~When he got some Pokeballs Chief was put into a Premier ball, Vaporeon was put in a Dive Ball, Jolteon was put in a Fast Ball and Flareon was put in a Level Ball.
~Takako was thought of after watching the 2017 DuckTales.
~She’s based on a character that was supposed to be a spy for a villainess but eventually became friendly with the main cast.
~Only difference is Takako isn’t a spy for her aunt and isn’t against being friends with Ashley.
~Takako has an okay relationship with her mom, but at the same time, she finds her mom overbearing and overprotective.
~Takako is slightly intimidated by Ash, Serena, and Silver since her mother told her about the Ketchum brothers and Ashley told her about her mother.
~As a result, she tries to hang out with Ashley when Ash, Serena, and Silver aren’t around.
~Takako’s Pokemon are based on Pokemon with high physical attack or are intimidating.
For Takako’s team, Deino is in an Ultra Ball, Persian is in a Luxury Ball, Skiddo is in a Nest Ball, Absol is in a Timer Ball, Fraxure is in an Ultra Ball and Luxray is in an Ultra Ball.
~Penelope was made due to the fact my friends convinced me to make a Ferriswheelshipping child. Also, Salvia needed another friend aside from Ashley.
~Penelope’s design is that of a princess due to N being known as the king of Team Plasma and White being in show business.
~As such Penelope always wears a dress and a tiara everywhere she goes.
~The reason why Salvia and Penelope are friends is simply that both of them hate seeing their Pokemon get hurt, so they both don’t battle.
~Penelope’s Pokemon were chosen from what seemed to be fit for a princess, Vulpix because of the mythology behind it and Ninetales, Smoochum is known to look at themselves in a pond of water to make sure they look good, Steenee are found near grass and that’s normally where princesses go to relax, Floette is a Fairy-type and are always found in a garden, Dedenne is a hamster and we all know about Cinderella and her mouse friends and Mawile because looks can be deceiving.
~Penelope has no problem with Pokeballs and mostly keeps her Pokemon out of them if they want to come out.
~For Penelope’s team, Vulpix is in a Pokeball, Smoochum is in a Love Ball, Steenee is in a Friend Ball, Floette is in a Heal Ball, Dedenne is in a Luxury Ball and Mawile is in a Dusk Ball.
