The Exciting Players of the FA Women's Super League. (Part 2 of 2)
Last week, I discussed the structure of the English Women's League and four impressive players this season so far. To add to the list of talent, this part will include more diverse players. I would like to bring up once again that this selection of players is based merely on my opinion and is not biased towards any team and that this list is not placed in any order.
5- Janine Beckie
The Canadian International traded in her Sky Blue FC jersey for a Manchester City one last August. After the forward failed to impress last season—15 goalless appearances—she made it her mission to start fresh and prove all the doubters wrong. Last season, she helped Manchester City secure the double by providing them with 8 goals in her 15 appearances. The move started to make sense the more she played. This season, she is acting as more of a playmaker—contributing 3 assists of her 6 games in the league; however, during their run in the Champions League, she only managed to secure 5 goals and an assist to her name. They gave Atletico Madrid a run for their money but came up short of a goal on aggregate.
6- Ji So-Yun
Chelsea’s Number 10 is one of the best midfielders in the world, it only takes watching her play for fans to come to the same conclusion. The South Korean holds the goal-scoring record for her international team with 55 goals at the age of 28. Currently, she has 3 goals and two assists in the league but her hunger for success ensures that she is not done yet. Ji shines up the pitch and shows no weaknesses while playing. Her crosses and skills are lethal and her agility helps her slip through the feet of the defenders. Her free kick goal against Birmingham City, that targeted the top left corner yet bounced off the fingers of the oppositions goalkeeper, will definitely be a contender for goals of the month. Having her on your team is like having an extra player on your side. Many U.S Women's National Team fans will remember her for scoring the equalizer in Jill Ellis’ last game in charge.
7- Leah Williamson
Leah’s Arsenal journey is an epic love story. Joining at the age of nine, the now 22-year-old plays a crucial role in the current champions’ starting defense. The England International climbed up the academy’s rankings, until 2014, when she made her senior debut during a 2-0 loss to Birmingham City. Williamson is one of the most consistent centre-backs in both the league and for her national team. This season, Arsenal managed to keep 10 clean sheets in 13 games and Williamson is one of the reasons behind the team’s defensive success. Considering her age, she manages to play week in and week out like any mature and experienced player. Her positioning allows her to read attacks well. Fans can tell, just by watching her play, the amount of passion she holds for the game and her club. In the Lionesses’ last friendly against the Czech Republic, she scored the winner in a 3-2 victory.
8- Beth England
After missing out on a spot in the 2019 Women's World Cup roster, England continued to show the Lionesses coach why that was a huge mistake. The 25-year-old striker has four goals and two assists in the first six games of the season and she won’t stop hitting the back of the net any time soon. With Chelsea announcing the signing of goal-scoring machine Sam Kerr last week, England now has to compete for her starting spot and prove to Emma Hayes that she deserves to play. Her England call up came a little later than anticipated, making her debut in August 2019 against Belgium. She scored her debut goal for the lionesses after being subbed on against Brazil. This was the only goal in their 2-1 defeat, which caused Lionesses’ fans to notice the talent that she holds. In November, Beth made her first start for England during their friendly against the Czech Republic. She contributed yet another goal during their 3-2 victory. It is honourable to mention that the striker managed to bag five goals in the first four games in the continental cup. This concludes the list I have compiled. Although it doesn’t do the league’s talent justice, it is a start. There are so many players that deserve recognition and I hope to expose more football-lovers to the Women's Super League and to support the women's game. To keep up with the English league, download the ‘FA Player’ app where matches, highlights and many more are available to watch for free!

Ten UNDERTALE Fanworks Every Fan Needs to Check Out
It’s February 15th, time once again to celebrate International Fanworks Day! Seriously, how great is that? Whether it’s books, movies, comics, games or television series, fanworks make up a huge part of their communities. This year I’m tackling UNDERTALE, the game that most people (myself included) fell in love with and whose fandom is still going strong more than a year later.
Tumblr media
Some of them have been completed, some of them are only partially done, and some of them have been forgotten. Regardless of their status, I think they’re special and amazing and I hope you will love them as much as I do. I’ll do my best to leave out any spoilers.
Death by Glamour
Tumblr media
Here’s a neat animatic featuring our favorite human and robot. Animated by Alyssa Gerwing, this video makes their battle look really cool, bringing the fight sequence out of the box and into UNDERTALE’s real world. You have to love the pacing and timing, which is perfectly in sync with the boss music. The facial expressions really give it something extra, whether it be humor or drama. What a stylish video! @walkingmelonsaaa
Papyrus Finds a Human
Tumblr media
This animation was an unexpected delight. This was not the cutesy video I thought it would be. With it’s mild swearing and cartoon violence, Mike (a.k.a. Piemations) created a brilliantly funny video. The voice acting is flawless. The punchlines hit home. Papyrus is the best. I can’t write much else without giving all the best bits away. Just go experience it for yourself. As an added bonus, I highly recommend turning on the subtitles while watching the video for the second time. You will not be disappointed.
UNDERTALE ANNIVERSARY
Tumblr media
This animation blew me away. I was a fan of iscoppie’s Game Grumps animations before this, but wow. This six-minute video depicts a moment I rarely see people tackle: how Undyne and Alphys met. It’s a bittersweet meeting when you really think about it, and this animation captures and balances all of the emotions involved: fear, hope, resignation, awe. The colors are gorgeous, the voice talent is wonder, and the music is beautiful. This is the best UNDERTALE tribute to date. @iscoppie
The Sons of Gaster
Tumblr media
There are many theories as to how, or even if, Sans and Papyrus are connected to W.D. Gaster. One popular theory is that they were created by the doctor. This two-part comic series by sansybones depicts the skeleton brothers’ beginnings: their time with Gaster, growing and gaining independence, and how the two bros become family. The black-and-white style–with the occasional blue–is very effective and looks really nice. I especially love Papyrus’ facial expressions; they capture his personality perfectly. One thing I do appreciate is that this isn’t just a Sans story. Papyrus is just as important and has just as much focus and growth. Sansybones’ depiction of the UNDERTALE characters is fantastic. Their feelings, struggles, and personalities feel genuine and sincere. It’s an emotional roller coaster well worth the ride. @sansybones
They Say He Shattered
Tumblr media
I’m a big fan of the multiverse theory. I’ve talked about it extensively in regards to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If you’re like me, then this comic is right up your alley. Emily plays with the idea of timelines collapsing and converging in They Say He Shattered, creating the best kind of mess. It’s a fascinating story that balances humor and seriousness very well. Each game ending results in another dimension, but it seems the very fabric of time and space has been broken. Characters come face-to-face with different realities or feel the effects of forces on their other selves. Some things happen out of order. Some things that never should have been are now possible. It’s really hard to explain, but well worth a read. I’m really excited to get to the bottom of this mystery. @theysayheshattered
A CHARActer Analysis
Tumblr media
Normally when we think of “fanwork” we think of art, music, fanfiction, cosplay, videos, and animation. However, this thesis bears recognition. Toby Fox created a cast of characters rich in personality and full of life. Chara is one of the only characters in UNDERTALE to be almost unanimously revered and portrayed as one-dimensional. They’re evil and hate humanity and that’s the end of that. Only it’s not. In this analysis we are shown every detail we may have missed. Chara’s story is scattered throughout the game. There are so many subtle hints and clues that most people wouldn’t notice or even think twice about. This in-depth thesis is by far the best explanation of who/what Chara is, who they were, and their role in the overall game. With all of this evidence, you may find yourself viewing Chara in a completely different light. @thefloweryfanclub
Never a Lovely So Real
Tumblr media
The artwork shown above was created by theslowesthnery.
Of all the UNDERTALE AU’s, the Gangster/Mob AU is my big favorite. I adore this AU, and this fanficiton was heaven-sent. Kaesa’s Never a Lovely So Real is loosely based on Hnery’s neat headcanons and spectacular art surrounding the Gangster AU. This story is told from Sans’ point of view as he tries to keep the family safe. You have all of your favorite major characters playing their roles in the operation, while a lot of minor characters show up frequently as well. I really appreciate that Sans and Alphys are science bros and have to work as a team. I normally don’t like a who lot of new characters being added into fanfictions, but here it works. Getting to know the rival gang members goes to show that not everything is black-and-white, especially in these types of situations. Much like the game, the “bad guys” aren’t always bad guys. One of the greatest things about this fanfiction is how much research and knowledge went into it. I was impressed by how authentic this story felt the first time I read through it. Kaesa did her homework and it shows. There’s mystery. There’s action. There’s romance. There’s suspense. This is a great work. Did I mention the Gangster AU was my favorite? @kaesaaurelia
Under Shield
Tumblr media
The artwork shown above was created by hamstermastersamster.
Here we have my favorite post-true-pacifist story. Under Shield by Fantasia Wandering is a series of fics told out of order telling of Frisk growing up and growing into their role as ambassador, as well as dealing with their past and becoming part of a family again. Frisk is given a lot of character and background, but it never seems like too much. Frisk is a person with big feelings and big thoughts, and sometimes they can weigh too heavily on their mind. These feelings, accompanied with the struggles of growing up, are relatable to everyone and make it easy to slip into Frisk’s shoes. Although Frisk is the main focus, some of the main cast have important developments as well. One of the most powerful chapters in this series is the eighth part: Penance. Asgore’s redemption arc is a prominent theme throughout the series. He’s not immediately forgiven for his sins by Toriel, or even himself. This in turn affects his relationship with Frisk. It’s a process that takes many years and the reader is there for each important step. This fic’s strongest suit is its stunning imagery. The environments Fantasia has created are painted so vividly. Any reader can picture the settings in great detail. Overall, this is one well-written series. @fantasiawandering
Blood of the Covenant
Tumblr media
The artwork shown above was created by donidoodles.
Remember when PTA Sans was a thing? Well, this is the PTA slice-of-life UNDERTALE story the fans deserve. Blood of the Covenant takes place nearly a decade after the game. Everyone has grown up–and it shows–but they still retain their character. Doni’s characterization is so on point. This fic has the most realistic high school you’ll ever find. None of that Lifetime or Disney Channel nonsense here. The history teacher coaches the football team, the PTA is a hot mess, and aside form a few ass-hats the kids are generally nice and friendly. (Is this my high school? I feel like this was based on my high school.) The story’s strongest appeal is that every character’s time is balanced and utilized effectively. This cast is huge and yet every single one of them has their time to shine. I’ve read a lot of UNDERTALE PTA fics and most of them are a lot of fun, but a common trend in those stories is that the human members of the PTA (Linda, Helen, etc.) are usually so cartoonish and two-dimensional, like their only purpose is to be ignorant evil villains. Here our antagonists are fleshed out. They have feelings, struggles, even arcs of their own. They learn and grow just as the protagonists do. This is a fantastic, well-rounded story. I lost so much sleep the first time I read through it because I could not stop. It was all worth it, though. I promise. @doniblogs
The Scientist
Tumblr media
The link provided leads to AO3, but you can also read it on Tumblr. The artwork shown above was created by hamstermastersamster.
This is my favorite pre-game scenario. Out of all the fanfictions I’ve read, this two-part series written by Pen has the best portrayal of Dr. W.D. Gaster and his backstory. The first part of the series, The Scientist, revolves around the life and times of the royal scientist before Dr. Alphys got the job. The passage of time feels seamless, from the point of monsters’ imprisonment to the end of Gaster’s existence. It makes sense and goes right along with UNDERTALE’s timeline. Everything fits together like a puzzle. I could go on and on about the relationship between Gaster and Sans. It is just so strong and told very well. They are co-workers instead of father and son as I’ve seen in many fanfictions. (I prefer the colleague dynamic, actually.) The audience can get a real sense that their bond teeters between healthy camaraderie and toxic friendship, eventually falling to the side of the latter. The second part in the series, Entropy, shifts the focus onto Sans and how he deals with the aftermath of Gaster’s disappearance. It shows Sans’ own decline; he is deteriorating into the character we see in-game. This story is as well-written and intriguing as its predecessor. It paints by far the most natural, realistic relationship between Papyrus and Sans. Their situation, their dialogue, and their banter is so believable. There’s something really pure about it that just makes me smile. This series, you guys. This series. @talkingsoup
So there you have it! I had so much fun making this list. I can’t believe I’ve been working on this post for a whole year.Shortly after I made a similar post about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fanworks last International Fanworks Day, I got right to work on this one. Thanks as always to anyone who read this. If you’d like to discuss anything you read here today or have recommendations of your own, please feel free to reply to this post or drop something in my ask box. Have an awesome day, friends! @undertale

Musician Profile
My first take on music was at a very young age between 4-5. Growing up I listened to a lot of 90′s and  early 2000′s RnB and Hip Hop.I used to hum a lot of songs and I then gradually started singing, Destiny’s child/Beyonce and Leona Lewis’s ‘Bleeding Love’  became a big influence on how I enjoyed singing. Whenever a song of there’s would come I would start humming and singing it. I’ve never had any training over the years, gradually I’d practice singing and do covers on songs I really liked. I would sometimes sing and perform in primary school whenever I had a chance to. Finding my voice at the age of 5 made me realise at the moment that  pursuing music is what I wanted to do. Not too long ago I started getting into writing my own songs, I would look for type  beats via Youtube and think of melodies while writing my lyrics. Around last year I got into recording my own music, my friends who are also musicians play a role into getting me into recording. I’m still in the process as an artist of finding my own sound, making more music and learning how to mix vocals when recording as that’s something I really want to get into
A lot of music I listen to is music that is a big influence into the music that I already make and stuff that I’ve always listened to coming from singles, EPs and albums from my favourite artists.I still am listening to a lot RnB and rap/U.K rap. a few new RnB and rap albums and songs I’ve been listening to that I really like are coming from artists likeDon Toliver, Trippie Redd,Justine Skye, Che Ecru, Tyler the Creator, Tobi Lou Young Thug, Chance The Rapper, WSTRN, Headie One etc. I’ve developed an interest in of Afro-beats and a little bit of Caribbean music. The newest Afro music album I’ve been listening to a lot is Burna Boy - African Giant. As for Caribbean Music, I’ve been listening to Jada Kingdom and Alicia Harley which is more modern dance hall music with a little mix of RnB.
I sing because I enjoy singing and it’s a talent of mine that I’ve always had and want to always improve and strengthen as a potential recording artist as I grow more into a professional musician. However, I would like to start getting to learning other instruments or making beats.
I have a lot of musical hero’s and they’re all women. I’m very passionate about women doing music and breaking boundaries and opening doors for other up coming female artists. Especially in today’s society seeing that the music industry has become more male dominated. As I’ve seen a lot of female artists aren’t in the spotlight enough.  I love seeing now that female artists like Normani, Liza, SZA, Summer walker  and Teyana Taylor have broke boundaries in the music industry today into mainstream music and are given the recognition they deserve. I would count them as my musical hero’s right now because I relate to them not only as another upcoming female artist  but also as a black female artist because I’ve seen colourism has been on going issue in the music industry as well and I feel like Normani, Liza, SZA and Teyana Taylor are opening doors for young, black upcoming female artists for the near future.

Before I started this course I actually didn’t have very much experience as a musician and in performing. However, my experience as a musician so far I’ve gained a lot of confidence performing that I never thought I would gain. I started of very nervous, I still am but I now find myself very comfortable on stage after a while. I’ve learned a lot about performing and how to use my voice. Also I do write music and record music and I have two songs that I’ve done with my friend on soundcloud. I’m still in the process of creating more and trying to put out more music. I want to develop my own sound as a musician.
I’m usually open to sing in any kind of song or genre performing wise or recording a song with another artist. I’m very versatile when it comes to my own music, I like experimenting with my music. I’m very influenced by what I listen to whether it’s coming from an RnB/rap artist  who has a particular style in in the music or other Afro/Caribbean music. In the near future I would like to continue pursing my own music recording or doing covers and other things that don’t relate music such as having a clothing brand/business.
At the moment I would consider myself more skilled at writing my own material but I want the develop my skills in other areas such as recording, producing, marketing and my social media. As an artist,in the next 12 months I want to be able to work with other musicians around me a little more and find what kind of material I can create with others. Also learn from other musicians, create more music to put out, develop my vocal range/ skills and develop my song writing a little more. In 5/10 years time I would hopefully like to see myself heading in some kind of direction with my music and progressing. In 5/10 years I want to be settled and in a good place with everything I’ll be doing.

REV. JAMES TRENCHARD: Would you like me to leave?
FREDERICK TRENCHARD: No.
JOHN BELLASIS: Ah. Who's this?
FREDERICK TRENCHARD: My brother. Reverend James Trenchard.
JOHN BELLASIS: James... James, you changed the game, young man. The one who wasn't meant to be. I've been thinking about your mother. I wasn't especially nice to her. But then, she wasn't especially nice. I've been wondering if she used me for the stud that I am. Trenchard had failed her. She wanted her child. I wonder if he even fathered you.
REV. JAMES TRENCHARD(exhales): It's all right.
FREDERICK TRENCHARD: Where did you meet our mother?
JOHN BALLASIS: Good old Belgravia...........
REV. JAMES TRENCHARD: Freddie... We don't have to stay.
FREDERICK TRENCHARD: Wait for me.

ENRIGHT: I need to speak with you, Master James. I really need to speak with you.
REV. JAMES TRENCHARD: : John Bellasis? You're saying... You're saying... John Bellasis is Frederick's father?... Bellasis was the man... The man who tried to kill our cousin...... And he asked you to... to watch my brother?
ENRIGHT: He told me that he couldn't return to England. Later on, I understood why.....Paid me a small yearly fee. I was to secure a job at Glanville House and send him reports from time to time about the boy... his progress... how he was being treated.... There was never any malice in it, sir. I kept an eye on him, loved him. I'll say that. And I sent off my reports to a post office outside Paris, and I never received a reply... until today. You see why I've come? You know His Lordship has dismissed me? I'm quite sure he won't see me, so...
REV. JAMES TRENCHARD: He won't see me. I've tried. I've written to him many times since I heard of his present difficulties...
ENRIGHT: Then I think we must make him see us, sir.
REV. JAMES TRENCHARD: We are to go to my brother and tell him this... this villain was his father?

REV. JAMES TRENCHARD: Nell…
NELL: Is it the loneliness, Reverend which frightens you?
REV. JAMES TRENCHARD: I’m… I’m not frightened. I’m guilty of so many sins. I’m not fit to walk upon the Earth. Certainly not fit to stand in a pulpit and pretend I know how people should behave.
NELL: Your words your thoughts have often been all that holds me to the world. If there’s wickedness in you, there is so much more in me and…
REV. JAMES TRENCHARD: Nell, you don’t understand. God despises me, rightly. (sighs) He’s… He’s turned his back on me.
NELL: I think you’re wrong. I think that’s something we tell ourselves to justify our inability to face the truth and live with it, day after painful day. The least we can do is dedicate our lives to others our usefulness, our hearts. Through serving others, we are serving God and reaching for a way back to him. I’m certain of that now. Only try, and you will see it, too.
