Chapter XI − Concerning the Universal Self

They said: "If a person comes to another with a purpose, he should tell the other only about that. At present, you know about the Vaisvanara Self. Please tell us about Him."

He said to them: "I shall give you a reply tomorrow morning."

Next morning they approached him with fuel in their hands. Without having performed any initiatory rites, the king said to them:

Vaisvanara Self is the self that upgrades from what is essentially a savage beast with a few organizational and social capabilities into an intelligent industrious being with great spiritual capabilities.

The one thing we need to retain from the animal nature is animals do not pretend. They reason without pretending. You cannot tell your cat or your dog a story and expect them to believe you. Any tom fool of a human being will go about life, however, believing all kinds of rubbish and still expect to survive in a complex society.

If we could be smart like people and embrace the facts like our pets, life would be so good. To succeed at this, the Upanishad says assess, at all times, what the creation is doing, what the mind is doing in response and behave appropriately, and things work really, really, well.

Invent all kinds of stories about these things, and they will fail.

Born in England to an English father and a German mother, he was raised in a very strict household.

Comes from a pure-blood line, he got disowned after marrying a half-blood for “staining” the Silver name.

In Hogwarts he was in Slytherin, after graduating, he went to work in the Ministry of Magic.

When Voldemort rose to power – he was almost killed several times by people he considered friends from Hogwarts or other pure-bloods – to the point that he had to hide for almost a year until Voldemort's Regime came to an end.

He is a very cold and calculated man, and had a very rocky relationship with his elder son – Jacob.

Form of Riddikulus: I have no idea - whatever can turn the dark mark into something funny.

Luna has a love-hate relationship with Slytherin. She doesn’t see it as inherently bad to get sorted there, but she has intensive resentment for whomever show “evil” tendencies or any support of Voldemort.

She’s bisexual (and her father is the only one that doesn’t know.)

She’s fairly popular, and yet very private about her personal life.

In my version, Rowan is a guy - and yet they’re still best friends (JC...!)

She’s a huge animal lover - including arthropods.

Her muggle grandma let her drive a car at the age of 8.

Most of her pets “adopted her” rather then she got them in a store. Her owl, Charlie, used to live outside her window and eventually, after feeding him enough, he just stayed as her pet. It’s more of a friendship than ownership.

Her father doesn’t allow her to have so many pets, so in summer vacations, she leaves most of them with Hagrid.
