the girls are in this scene after they freaking beat fuzzy pumpkins up for the crime of BATHING but they're only there for like a super duper split second... which i swore was a figment of my imagination until i actually was able to freeze frame this

I think everyone knows how the PPG hotline is basically a reference to the hotline from the 60s Batman TV series, just made to look like a little Fisher-Price phone since the girls are in kindergarten. In Batman, the phone's on a little wooden pedestal in a glass dome and looks like this:

But I swear in the PPG it just looks like they sawed some sloppy lookin' logs out in the woods and just affixed the hotline on top. Like, neither of them read like a polished pedestal that would fit inside the setting of a politician's office to me AT ALL.

the professor is a man hanging on by a thread waiting to sNAP at any moment

grubber's impersonation face is just the stuff of legend, and the "we want to shop!" the boys start chanting is absolutely a thing I have said and thought multiple times whenever I've gone out for Black Friday sales or to the mall or something in the past

I've seen this sequence a billion, kajillion times, in so many different languages... it's just so iconic for the gang.

Also, they all look like baby, too perfect for this world.

...okay, I'm losing steam taking all these screencaps so I'll wrap up #TelephoniesWatch2023 with my general take on the whole episode (and maybe post caps of the Big Fight Scene at the end later tomorrow or something).

It's a good one! I think it's great that the Gangreen Gang escalates their pranks to something that's a whole lot bigger and more serious. The other villains getting impacted by their shenanigans leads to some really great and iconic funny moments, and I just love when the show kind of peeks into the lives of the villains when they aren't actively committing crimes and just acting like normal-ish citizens of the town they live in. The show was so great at balancing out all the fighting the girls did alongside these little slice-of-life sort of things. A classic episode all the way!
