Marbled Monday
This week's Marbled Monday is all about The Art of the Book! The Art of the Book: A Review of Some Recent European and American Work in Typography, Page Decoration & Binding was created by Charles Holme and published in New York and London by "The Studio" Ltd. in 1914. It includes examples of many different contemporary trends and styles and elements of book design, some of which are shown here.
It also includes a lovely binding with some interesting marbled paper. It is half bound in leather with marbled paper over boards. I say the marbling is interesting because it doesn't really follow an established pattern. It's most nearly a Turkish or stone pattern, but includes some irregular swirling that was done with a stylus. The colors are a great contrasting mix of light and dark blue, orange, and brownish maroon. The light blue is actually just the color of the paper itself, which we can tell because of the wear to the cover where it has worn through the marbling.

I assume the ask was deleted due to Issues but in response to the question if I have a better option to The Boss, sure I do! The Studio would be a better option, albeit a little more… complicated. For one, It’s a building of sorts, and for another It speaks through Host, who is not necessarily It. All you’d need to be is entertaining and It’d be hooked! You would have to accept It will be interested in others, though, but rest assured - you’d be treasured! Just don’t make a habit of participating in Games where you’d lose.
And then there’s Trick! Trick doesn’t entirely… understand humans, but you could convince it to avoid its less human-friendly ideas of how to be friendly with humans with a little bit of frank conversation.

Room update...
Cosplay prints arrived, I had planned to just hang up the food themed ones in that corner but somehow it looked so lost I ... decided to make a full cosplay corner.
Plus ordered the (for now) last missing furniture as the Detolf gets discontinued here I had to order T_T .. otherwise we would have picked up the Kallax and I would have gotten the cabinet later on.

Hollywood is a technological crapshoot. Table stakes open at a million dollars. It was true in 1968, it is true now.
