Anyone can be a Digital Citizen, It's your CHOICE to be a Responsible Digital Citizen.
As Digital Citizens, we are responsible for ourselves. We should be responsible enough to equip ourselves with the knowledge of how to conduct ourselves online. Responsible enough to equip ourselves with the knowledge on the etiquette. Responsible enough that we should not engage in practices that could harm or could negatively affect the person on the other end.
It is also through Education that we can observe social, ethical, and legal responsibilities online. When we have the knowledge of the positive and negative effects of the misuse of technology, we are able to think before we click. We are able to look into the potential effects of our actions on the other end.

BE A RESPONSIBLE DIGITAL CITIZEN
Particularly in the age of today, technology is incredibly powerful and useful. It contains advantages and disadvantages that could be beneficial or dangerous for humans. So, what exactly does it mean to be a digital citizen? and how one can observe social, ethical, and legal responsibilities in the use of technology tools and resources? Being a good digital citizen involves more than just being able to use and navigate technology; it also involves being conscious of your responsibilities in the online world. Because we are diverse and have this supposed distinction, it is crucial that we accept other people's perspectives and viewpoints online, even if they conflict with our own. Moreover, one can observe social, ethical, and legal responsibilities in the use of technology tools and resources by abiding by the laws and regulations that safeguard each user's privacy. In addition, one should always be mindful, consider other people's privacy, and always think and reflect before clicking. As a quote that I read said, "Let's be responsible, respectful, and safe in the digital world."

THINK Before You Click: The Power of Your Words Online
We live in a digital world where a single click can inspire, inform, hurt, or mislead—all in an instant. That’s why before you post, share, or comment, take a moment to THINK.
✨ T - Is it True?
Misinformation spreads fast. Double-check your sources before sharing anything.
💡 H - Is it Helpful?
Will your post add value to someone’s life, or will it only create negativity?
🌟 I - Is it Inspiring?
Does it encourage, uplift, or motivate others? We could all use more positivity online.
🤔 N - Is it Necessary?
Not everything needs to be posted. Sometimes, silence speaks louder than words.
❤️ K - Is it Kind?
Words have power. Be mindful of how yours affect others.
Social media is a powerful tool—use it wisely. A single post can either build someone up or tear them down. So before you click, THINK.

Internet
As of today, the internet is very rampant. It helps people to make their life easier, especially to us Millenials. Because we can get information effortlessly, we can access our friends immediately. We can research for our assignments and projects. Most of all, we can express our feelings, opinions with one click only.
Nowadays, we are now stepping forward in using the internet. However, the rampant spread of propaganda was being exposed and influence our minds in different ways. Based on what I have observed, a large number of people are deceitful to the false information. For example, in the war on drugs campaign by President Duterte, the photo was based on what Mr. Peter Tiu Lavina posted that the nine-year-old girl was raped and murdered in the Philippines. We, as netizens, must know what is happening first, and we must know how to separate the fact from opinion or fiction because not all the news that we have read on the internet is reliable.
In conclusion, we should be wise in using the internet to avoid harm other people. We should spread positivity, love, and respect for every one of us. So now we need to know how media rule us. We need to realize what happens in our society. Don't use media to destroy others' life. Instead, use it for the positive thing for the sake of us. Media is not a weapon all the time against the opinion of others. We can use it correctly for the safeness and have the freedom to everyone. And use the internet as a weapon to make a change. Wherein, we Filipino excel. Let them express their feelings and opinions. Respect their authority as a citizen.

Does the Internet make us Nice or Mean?
With the Internet taking off in 1990, people worldwide have been able to access information from everywhere. The internet also allows people to chat online to their friends or meet new people but when social media gets involved that is where problems can occur.
One big problem is arguments between that lead to cyberbullying. Bullying has always been around but cyberbullying wasn’t possible before the Internet. Having an argument in person is one thing but having one over social media is another. People often find that they can say more to someone over social media and nothing with happen to them because they have the screen to protect them.
One example of the internet being a negative space is recently Instagram has been blowing up about a young boy named Quaden Bayles. Quaden suffers from Achondroplasia, which affects his bone growth in arms and legs. From his condition, Quaden has been experiencing severe bullying at school. When his mom posted that her son being bullied caused him to become suicidal, Quaden’s story went viral. The sad part about this story is thousands of users on Instagram don’t believe he is a little kid but someone who is actually 18. There has been a lot of negative energy being put into this when he is a little boy.  To contrast to the previous paragraph, no one in the right mind would say anything mean to Quaden’s face but since their behind a screen they believe the words that are said won’t effect them.
Tumblr media
Although, the internet can also be a positive place as well. it allows people to shop online, learn new recipes and talk to long-distance family members. from those three examples the internet sounds like a wonderful place but it can only stay that way if everyone spreads positive comments only. Unfortunately, people are aware when their cyber bullying someone.
For example, last month I posted a picture of my friends and I at a party. The next night I found out an account on Instagram had screenshoted the picture and zoomed up my body with a caption that was racist and commenting on my body. Immediately I message them asking the account who they were and to delete the post. In the message the user refused to tell me who they were and to take the post down. The user kept messaging me inappropriate messages and posting more content involving me.
In the end I never found out who ran the account but thankfully the account got taken down by Instagram but I strongly believe who ever ran the account would have never said anything mean to my face. They believed with the power of a screen and social media they would be able to get away with everything.
