Backstory:
Imagined I was working as an apprentice to the Italian photographer Tina Modotti in Mexico City in 1928. She was a good friend of Frida Kahlo and let me test my skills as a photographer by taking Frida’s portrait. Frida was very nervous because it was on such a bus that she had her famous accident.

Coppage’s friend, Ione Robinson, was roommate with Tina Modotti in Mexico City, which is presumably how the two met.
