Ramesh Chaurasia: Helping children build a better future.

All members of the Akhil Bharatiya Adarsh Chaurasia Mahasabha are dedicated to creating a better environment for children from the Chaurasia community. Many members of the community still work as marginal labours so their children need special attention when it comes to their upbringing and mental guidance.

“We know that children are the future so we leave no stone unturned when it comes to their wellbeing and development. Most of our efforts are targeted toward uplifting the most vulnerable segments of society. Children should not be neglected because they hold endless potential and are very malleable. Children are curious by nature so it should be ensured that they are given the right guidance and information which contributes to their growth. Children from marginalized communities are prone to falling into the bad company because mostly both the parents have to work in order to earn a living for the family. This is why we try to find the best guidance for all children from the Chaurasia community.”- Mr Ramesh Lakhulal Chaurasia said regarding their initiatives.

The organization is actively involved in child development and the welfare of children from marginalized sections of the Chaurasia community. There are many gifted children who are excellent in different fields like academics, sports, arts and other activities. The leaders of the Mahasabha ensure that such children are given appropriate scholarships and that their education is funded as much as possible. They are given incentives and coaching in their area of interest so that they can look forward to a better future. All children are special and they need to be motivated by any means possible. The world is changing rapidly and it is often quite difficult for children from marginalized communities to catch up to the changing trends, views and technology.

Mr Ramesh Chaurasia, the president of the Akhil Bharatiya Adarsh Chaurasia Mahasabha said, “We have developed a fully functional and active E-Library where everyone is given access to educational or skill-based learning resources. We have tried to create a vast database where all possible books and resources can be provided free to those who need them. This learning library is also made available to young adults and women who want to continue their education. We are trying to create a new atmosphere of learning. We want to change the viewpoint that other sections of communities have towards marginalized or less fortunate members of society. We want to create a new wave of change where education is imparted to everyone who needs or wants it. Children are at the top when it comes to prioritizing education for us because they are the future of our country. Our efforts are showing effect and now we are seeing better results. More children are turning up in schools and are showing improvement after our initiatives are helping them.”

The organization has thousands of members spread all across the country so they are able to help people on a large scale. Plans are being developed through which study material and stationery can be distributed to children at the commencement of each academic session. The volunteers also try to ensure that used books are not wasted and are passed on to the children who are joining the class.

The goal of community building is to strengthen and improve the community and its members. Children are the foundation and the future of any community and this is why they need to be nurtured and guided in the direction of positive growth. The efforts of Mr Ramesh Chaurasia and the team of the Mahasabha have changed a lot of lives and continue to do so even today.

Ramesh Chaurasia- Working for Children in the post covid world

There is nothing more important today than our children’s health and well-being. But with changing time, a lot of new factors have surfaced and affected our daily lives. Many consider the technology loaded modern lifestyle to be detrimental to children’s health and mental well-being. Today we clearly notice that children spend most of their times indoors playing computer games or watching videos on mobile phones. It is widely acknowledged that social interaction and intermingling with other kids is essential for children because this is how they learn new things and how they learn important values which are essential for adult life. This is why this newly created pattern needs to be broken before it becomes the new normal.

Unfortunate times require great strength and will

This stands true even for children from the underprivileged section of society. They have had it worse when it comes to spending time indoors during the pandemic. Due to lack of resources for online education, they were not able to fully participate in the activities designed by the education system. Some people recognize this and work everyday for this cause.

Ramesh Chaurasia, president of the ‘Akhil Bharatiya Adarsh Chaurasia Mahasabha’ has taken several initiatives to help and uplift the children in every way possible.

Let us let kids be kids again

Mr Chaurasia works with qualified professionals from the education department and finds new strategies to help children establish healthy habits. On being asked about this, the principal of a Govt. school said – “We observe that the attention span of children has declined and they are becoming easily distracted and bored. This is something which was unheard of before. Unfortunately, the covid pandemic has only added to these problems. Since children were indoors for almost two years, they have forgotten how they used to play, learn and socialize because they have adapted to the new indoor life and entertainment that was unfortunately inevitable. “

Since social isolation is detrimental to child development, Ramesh Chaurasia made it possible to organize attractive and fun filled events where children would play with each other and participate in amusing events.

New initiatives for Child development and welfare

Mr Chaurasia believes that we need to create a safe environment for kids so that they can play freely like they used to. He believes that more children’s parks should be developed so that children can come out and play with other children like they always have. When the schools reopen, sports and extra-curricular group activities should be encouraged so that all children can grow freely and also enjoy their childhood.

Potential future – Grows with love

Children are truly the most powerful yet the most sensitive part of our society that need to be empowered and protected at all costs. Curiosity and creativity need to be encouraged in children which is inherently present at a young age. It is the children who build society when they grow up. Healthier and happier children will naturally build a better society. This is the best that we can hope for and work towards.

Akhil Bharatiya Adarsh Chaurasia Mahasabha works constantly to organize debates, discussions, sports events, game shows and other events which bring children out to meet each other and interact with other adult members of the community.

Ramesh Chaurasia – Encouraging Entrepreneurship Among the Youth of Chaurasia Community

In a developing country like ours, the focus is being shifted towards being self-employed. The economical landscape is changing. The pandemic has brought with it its own challenges. Although it has hit the middle and lower classes too but some segments have been hit harder than others. The dilemma for certain communities lies in their under-representation. Certain communities may still be perceived by many to be doing fine. But in reality, they are still reeling from issues like low literacy rates, non-sustainable income sources, gender disparity, and more. Help may arrive later than usual for these sections of our society.

Building first generation entrepreneurs: A new vision

The Chaurasia community too suffers from the aforementioned issues. A large number of families are still relying, rather unsuccessfully, on traditional methods to make a living. This is why younger members of the community are trying to change the picture. They are trying to change the traditional occupational patterns while some are trying to revive those patterns to make them more lucrative and sustainable. The problems they are facing are not just related to finances. As they are mostly first generation of entrepreneurs, they do not have the exposure and knowledge which people from business backgrounds have. Add to that a lack of resources, lack of opportunities to develop specific skills, and the problem just gets bigger. With most of them starting on a small scale, the raw material cost also rises as bulk purchases cannot be made. Bulk materials cannot be stored either. This is just one of the many hurdles they face. Many of these come from lack of support, training, and management.

With the focus today on encouraging the youth from these marginalised sections to be self employed, many new schemes are initiated. But lack of awareness and sometimes inaccessibility to these schemes only compound the issue. It is in such circumstances when leaders from the community come forward and help the youth that the pradigm shift occurs.

A new approach towards skill development and entrepreneurship

Ramesh Lakhulal Chaurasia has been at the helm of things in his individual capacity as well as the president of Akhil Bhartiya Adarsh Chaurasia Mahasabha. During the meetings of the leaders as well as during gatherings where community members intermingle, certain aspects are discussed given special attention. The goal is to understand the hurdles, difficulties, and issues faced by budding entrepreneurs who are trying to start new businesses. People led by Ramesh Chaurasia try to arrange help in form of training programs, motivational seminars, skill development camps, awareness regarding government schemes, and by arranging meetings with successful entrepreneurs from the community.

What is commendable is the recognition of honing talent when it is young which has brought the focus on students. Akhil Bharatiya Adarsh Chaurasia Mahasabha has existing programs and many more are being planned to provide guidance from the very early stage. This will make the children of the community confident to follow their dreams and will prepare them for the challenges to come.

Everyone agrees that children are the future of the world. Healthy, aware, curious, educated, and confident children are the ones who are going to change our society for the best. This is what Mr Chaurasia believes and works towards with a vision for a better and happier society.
