🥇🇩🇪 Happy 2 year anniversary to Alexander's Olympic Gold Medal at the Tokyo Olympics
It's so hard to believe it's been 2 years since Alexander's monumental win at Tokyo 2020. It was such an incredible moment, he played such beautiful tennis throughout the whole tournament, stopped a top-form Djokovic who had just won 3/3 of that year's Grand Slams en route to becoming the first ever German man to win the Olympic tennis Singles Gold medal 🥰
I still remember like it was yesterday; most of the matches took place in the middle of the night UK time, so I stayed away from any news sources that could have spoiled the results and watched each match the following day. And I vividly remember smiling so much when he won that final gold medal-winning match, and the emotional moment of seeing him stood on the top step of the podium, so happy to see him happy 🥹❤️
And it's truly moving seeing how many people came out to celebrate the win, all the fans who lined the streets of Hamburg to welcome back their Olympic champion, and the heartwarming site of him embracing his parents and Lövik ☺️❤️
No-one deserved it more than you, Alexander. And I'm so happy you can properly celebrate your 2-year anniversary of winning Olympic Gold having just won the Hamburg Open. Both are proof of what you are capable of: the culmination of your mental fortitude and all your hard work and dedication to the sport. Congratulations again, and good luck for the rest of the year. We are so proud of you ❤️
