Except... 'Blind Summit'' suggests that Ianto was indoctrinated and retconned repeatedly, and didn't understand where his fondness of suits came from. Tortured to the point he didn't understand why he was so good at making coffee. Because Torchwood One were molding him. Into the perfect, loyal, obedient operative.

And that just kills me.

We never knew the real Ianto. And neither did he.

Blind Summit is making me feel shrimp emotions holy shit. Just . Everything. Ianto Jones being silly but also trying to survive the crushing weight of the world. The utter GUT PUNCH at the end where he says he doesn't want to devieve people because he thinks he'll be good at it with the DEVASTATING Ballad of Ianto Jones in the background?? The entire audio just forces you to remember how young he was and how full of life he was before the fall/joining Torchwood in general, how from the beginning he was always someone who would do anything to save someone. He didn't want to become a torchwood operative and he didn't want to deceive anyone and the first real thing you ever learn about Ianto Jones is that he was a liar who deceived the entire Torchwood team. This is random but does anyone in the fandom know if the year Owen was recruited for Torchwood was 2004 or 2005?

Because if it was 2005, I'm pretty sure him and Ianto were hired within a couple weeks of each other which is a total useless fact that I think is kinda fun.

Ianto in 'Missing Molly' saying that Jack "ended things" with Ianto's girlfriend is so interesting to me. Because obviously this audio takes place after 'Broken', and after the start of their affair. But I also want to place it before 'The Last Beacon', where Ianto refers to Jack as his boyfriend, because Ianto still blames Jack for murdering Lisa in this one line.
