Recovered Entry 1:
Today I begin my position in the Bio Dome, located on the uninhabited island south of Haven 6, known to mankind as "Tasmania". The archives show it was home to all manner of fascinatingly unique species centuries ago, though records show human interference caused major extinctions of several of them well before their own. It's a sorrow that weighs heavy on me. But lifting that sorrow, the region now has had a remarkable surge in flora and fauna, both in diversity and population. Species once believed to have been wiped out for centuries have held a steady population, while some may even be new species yet unknown to man or bot! It gives me hope for this planet, even after all it's endured.
The Bio Dome is to serve as both an outpost for field research, as well as an isolated snapshot of the ecosystem for more controlled examination. I was delighted by the offer to join the effort, though they were a bit put off by my insistence on doing field research myself. What, did they expect me to sit in a desk staring at beetle droppings all day? Bah! That's how I spend my days off! No, I was made to see nature as it is: out in the world, alive, being! What bot would pass on such a wondrous alignment between their purpose of existence and their passion of existence?
Recovered Entry 2:
My colleagues and I are well into the routine of our work here. My expertise as always is marking specimens and tracking their movements. Our specialized marking gel is impossible to shake off without special equipment, but has no impact on the animals themselves. The gels also are laced with micro-receivers that, with just a simple remote button press, prompt a chemical reaction that harmlessly diffuses the gel into a liquid that slips right off the specimen! The chemical compound is also imperceptible to just about anything but my own specialized optics. It's quite a remarkable system, I'd say. I have done a bit of research though, and some testing shows that only a slight variance in the chemical compound of the gels could cause a much more violent reaction when signaled to dissolve. That'd make for a rather disastrous outcome if we ever get a bad batch. I'd like to consult someone more specialized to see if we can look into less potentially dangerous compounds, but my worries are merely precaution at this moment.
Recovered Entry 3:
I was enjoying a rest away from work and research for a moment by watching a show, some program about boat manufacturing if I recall, when suddenly the signal cut out. I went to investigate, and the technical engineers told me that somehow our communication tower was snapped in half, thus stopping any radio communications. Awfully concerning, considering there hasn't been any severe storms or anything else that could have accomplished something of the sort. At the expense of the fine bots behind that extent of the operation, I have to conclude this was the fault of an oversight in construction.
Some of our team has decided to take our boat back home to civilized shores while communications are down. I, of course, remained here to continue my work, along with the rest of the remaining team. Science doesn't rest!
I do regret not bringing anything not reliant on the communications tower to entertain myself aside from work. Perhaps we're all prone to oversights.
Recovered Entry 4:
Something has breached the Bio Dome. I was in my personal lab when I heard a massive crash of shattered glass. I bolted out into the main dome to see what could possibly be the cause, and I was met with three terrifying sights. First was the massive gap in the upper regions of the dome. Second was Gregson, one of my colleagues... or well, at least 70% of them, as their left arm and a chunk of their torso was cleaved off, and they laid lifelessly before me. Third was what I can only presume is the culprit of the prior two observations, and the tower collapsing weeks ago.
I can still hardly process the manner of being that I saw. Its body I suppose was serpent-like, though ending in multiple tails entwined within each other. It stood upon some indiscernible number of limbs, spindly in proportion but each as wide as a tree trunk. Its more striking means of locomotion was a series of massive wing-like appendages on its back, idling up and down in a slow rhythm. What disturbed me most of all was its head. It was smooth and featureless aside from a pair of divisions dividing it into four pieces. There were no eyes on its head, but as I looked closer I noticed they instead lined its body.
As I was awestruck in my observations, I brought myself back into focus as I realized the behemoth was looking as well, slowly scanning its head back and forth. Eventually, it looked over to me.
In what my studies would call "instinct", I brought myself low to all fours, then became absolutely motionless. My eyes were stuck staring at the most terrifying living thing ever recounted. Its featureless face staring right back at me. My only hope being to act as if I were but a lifeless bit of terrain.
After what felt like a lifetime, the creature's curiosity appeared to have been sated. It looked up back into the hole it created, then carried its otherworldly self out of the dome with a few steady flaps of its flopping wings.
It wasn't for another hour before I dared move again.
I consider it a mercy only about half a dozen of us were even here. Gregson is still inactive, and we don't have the spare parts or expertise to get them conscious again, but nothing was damaged that couldn't be fixed. The matter then is when, as our communications are still down, and we aren't certain when the repair crew will return. We have one boat on standby to leave, but none of the others are willing to risk leaving the concealed rooms of the facility until necessary. For once I'm willing to agree.
I find it more calming not to think much at the moment. The Bio Dome was shattered, and I make myself restless thinking about how far the damage has set us back. If any of the animals were injured or killed by that. Being.
My time as a consciousness on this earth, I spent in quiet hope that this planet would endure past the brink of lifelessness. Faced with the destructive unknown, my hope is now replaced with fear.
Much to consider. Though considering isn't very calming either.
I should've brought a show with me on my trip.
Recovered Entry 5:
It has been about a week since the unidentified being attacked the Bio Dome. The boat containing supplies and additional workers to fix the communications tower came back to us in our bewildered state.
The repair crew managed to get Gregson conscious again, though still missing the arm and half a chest. After that, we all decided that it would be best to pack what we can, seal off the facility, and leave the island until further notice. Many of the research team are eager to return to civilization. Gregson especially.
As we were on the boats back to the mainland however, the repair crew told us that something even more shocking than the Bio Dome incident has happened while our communications were down. A massive outbreak of unusual plant life has engulfed the entire Haven, and has been overtaking the surrounding areas. Most curious of all though, some say that within the plant life, some of it appears to be sentient creatures.
I made the hypothesis that our woes were one in the same. When we reach the shore, I'll prepare to test it.

Take an exclusive inside look at Dickies’ new headquarters in downtown Fort Worth
When the Williamson-Dickie family built its red brick campus off West Vickery Boulevard over a century ago, it came with room to grow.

The building at 509 W. Vickery Blvd. was constructed in 1924, just two years after Dickies established its workwear brand in Fort Worth.
Unsure of how big the company would be, the four-story structure was constructed with the ability to add floors to the building, all the way up to seven floors.
For decades, it was the original factory where pants, shirts and jackets were made for working people.
But over time Dickies moved manufacturing to places across the globe and the red brick building settled into more of an office space.
In 2017, North Carolina-based apparel manufacturer VF Corp., which also owns the brands Vans, North Face and Timberland, paid $820 million in cash for Dickies.
Then COVID-19 struck.
Work technology evolved with the pandemic. It was only a matter of time before something had to change.
Dickies decided to move its headquarters down the road.
“It was an appropriate time,” Dickies president Todd Dalhausser said. “Hard, but an appropriate time.”

After operating for just over 100 years out of the red brick campus overlooking I-30, Dickies found its new home in downtown Fort Worth.
The workwear brand relocated its headquarters last summer from West Vickery Boulevard to The Tower complex in the heart of town.
Located on the top floor of the six-story building, Dickies’ new address is 500 Taylor St.
Dalhausser, who was named Dickies president last spring, likened the relocation to the feeling of moving into a new home.
“That last day when you shut the door and you walk out, it’s emotional,” he said.

Dickies looked at a few different spaces in, out and around downtown while looking for its new headquarters.
The company settled on the 65,000-square-foot space at 500 Taylor St., wanting to stay close to the Dickies retail store at 521 W. Vickery Blvd., which is only about a mile away, Dalhausser said.
While it would be difficult to have a retail store at Dickies’ new headquarters on the sixth floor, Dalhausser said the company does have space on the street level.
But at this point, the West Vickery store is where they sell their gear. For now.
“We’re really proud of that space over there,” Dalhausser said of Dickies’ storefront retail operation. “We’re not in a hurry to move or to find another space right now.”
In opening up their new digs and creating common areas for its employees, Dickies spent approximately $4.5 million in renovations in the new building.
The company felt it a worthwhile investment to create an office space that would be inviting as well as comfortable for its workforce who had gotten used to working from home during the global pandemic. Whether
it be in the large cafeteria or various conference rooms, there’s plenty of space for people to sprawl.
It’s a different kind of sprawl than what employees had at the four-story building on West Vickery Boulevard.
The new layout brings everyone a little closer together.

For decades, a red sign reading “Williamson-Dickie” shined atop the old red brick building.
Now the sign greets employees in a prominent mantle in the new lobby.
The sign is just one of the many items Dickies moved over to its new offices — a reverent nod to its past.
Whether it be a fabric cutting table now repurposed into a conference room centerpiece, or decades-old clothing lining the walls of the archive room.
Dickies brought pieces of its past for its journey into the future.
Much of the decor in its new home highlights the brand’s century plus existence, including a few pop culture highlights.
A red 8XL shirt made for retired NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal hangs framed on one wall.
Another holds a NASCAR racing suit from the 2005 Dickies 500 held at Texas Motor Speedway.
Other iconic imagery hanging around the offices are picture’s of State Fair of Texas legend — Big Tex. Dickies has clothed the popular giant for years and even named one of its conference rooms after him.
Most of the conference rooms at Dickies have names that reflect its history and setting.
The “874” room, is named after the brand’s signature work pant, and the “Vaquero” room is the Spanish word for cowboy and reflects the company’s Fort Worth culture.
Other amenities include several rooms littered with clothing and designs, where Dickies employees plan out seasonal collections.
Typically, these collections are planned at least 18 months in advance and when the Star-Telegram visited Dickies in late March, they were already working on a project set for release in 2026.
While there’s plenty of workspace around the new headquarters, Dalhausser said Dickies also made sure to make the space feel relaxed.
A large television hangs on a cafeteria wall as a corner for employees to gather, just a few steps away from a ping pong table.
For moms, Dickies has a “Mother’s Room” where they can rest. The room has an armchair, sink and mini fridge.
The new headquarters has room for 220 employees.
About 140 employees regularly come into the office throughout the week, as Dickies does not require its employees to work in the office.
“I try to allow that flexibility, but I also try to encourage people that we need to be together,” Dalhausser said.

Fort Worth’s Dickies a brand built to last
Dickies has navigated through several inflection points in its 102 years.
After World War II, Dickies took the brand international, introducing its work wear line into the European market.
In the 1980s, Dickies saw hip-hop artists like N.W.A. adopt its clothing.
By the ‘90s, Dickies had infiltrated skateboarding culture as the go-to for durability and comfort.
Dickies may have moved out of its West Vickery Boulevard campus, (the Williamson family still owns the building), but the company isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.
In fact, Dalhausser said he sees the headquarters move as the company’s latest inflection point.
Work wear as a lifestyle apparel has grown exponentially over the last few years thanks to show’s like “Yellowstone”.
Just like the 1930s-era pair of work shirt and pants that lie in good condition in the archives, Dickies is built to last.
“It’s really amazing that we’re still an apparel manufacturer, making products for people that rely on it to do what they need to do every day, which is make a living,” Dalhausser said.
